3:30 Disagree alot of ppl will hunt their own gems and in the process they will make alot of off meta gems so I dont rly believe it will be a problem the second day to buy off meta item for 1 chaos or something but yes its speculative but given the fact that you have this data on 100% same colour... if that will remain in the game then ofc ppl will use it to try their luck right? :D at least thats what I think.. and at the start of the game 1-3 days theese gems sould be avalibile for low price unless meta
In general for Everybody: Don't always copy the Build from some random TH-camr without one single look at it. Maybe compare a few with each other. POE can be very punishing for mistakes so take care Brothers.
My plan is to farm merc lab for 2-3h on leaguestart before killing kitava. Either i get the gem in that timeframe or i will have farmed enough gear to buy one. Plan is to just dump tab all rares for chaos recipe since you can pick them up quickly from the chests at the end and throw them in the stash. This way i should have decent gear with the right links, my transfigured gem and a few lvls of xp to start maps with.
A bit late to be commenting this but. If you want to farm transfigured gems for currency. Run normal labs Instead, they take way less time to complete. and you can expect 1 good gem for every 3 labs you run
Better option is to play a build that can push really hard without the transfigured gem and then setup a live search for it. Odds are someone will land on the gem you want no matter how offmeta it is because of the random color reroll option. They will be desperate for chaos early so leverage the wealth you have from being ahead of everyone else and buy it as early as possible. If you make it to blood aqueducts within 3-4 hours you should be able to buy it pretty cheap. Depending on the gem, cheap might mean a divine, but don't let that discourage you because divines are only around 50 chaos that early into the league. So if you're running the chaos recipe you should be able to afford it no problem. If you aren't that fast, then there is literally no downside to slow farming it yourself in merc lab. It might take hours, but that won't hurt you if you weren't going to progress all that fast anyway. In fact it might make things easier for you as more leveling unique items will be on the market by then. Remember to always play the game at the pace that is most enjoyable to you. The game is supposed to be fun.
In SSF, I've found success in doing normal lab as fast as possible to find the gem I need and build a pool of gems that I might play later. If you don't care about how long it takes to get to maps, I think that's the way to go in that setting.
It usually takes me like 15 runs to get the gem I want which is pretty doable in a league start scenario. You also get a lot of random gems which sell for a good amount.
One suggestion for your editing: The little jump cut push-ins for emphasis (like for the PBoD will be nerfed line) are cool but I'm not sure about the slow push ins at random times. They're a bit distracting. Great work as always.
A league starter that is built around a certain transfigured gem should at least be fine in white maps without it, so you can start generating currency until you transition.
i think spamm running merc lab ob day1 / day2 will probably be very profitable if your not a "i run juiced t16 maps day2 superstar ultragamer" if you play a fast build you can prolly do at least 10 runns per hour and since your spamming the same lab u can add shrines too and get that extra click on gem rewards so its prolly like 12-15 per hour depending on how fast/lucky you are thats alot. also you can have like 3-5chests at the end if you play the bosses correct that will add up like crazy too.
i tested some runs in ssf, and tbh i just ran normal lab. After second ascendacy is trivial and super fast, so even if odds are low you can just blast it in no time
I mean... pick blue for spells, red for melee and green for projectile. Is it foolproof? No, but basic gems still are ez from lily and I kinda like winging it and testing whatever I get.
10% chance is actually better than I thought it was, but depending on your build you might be able to farm lower labs faster to get what you need, another that applies is what the color is. If you are hunting a red gem, it's SUPER easy to get those gems right now. Now if they add more, this changes of course.
thanks for the stats on this. I was considering running lab early league for some currency with all the people needing alt quality gems but it seems like it will definitely not be worth it for merc lab farming. still might give it a shot because this is the first real league where this is possible now that people know what gems they need and i dont mind lab so much
Basic tip, don't jump directly to the trans gem build, play until you have strong enough progress in your build to start the change, even invest some on movement for the lab runs. In my case, did like 10 PB dissipation in a 2-3 days doing just merc lab, I don't like lab, but don't burn yourself, play chill, enjoy the game, pet the bee and bee happy
Follow up: the issue revolves are the fact that unlike Awakened gems, which is just an upgrade of the normal gem, transfigured gems represent a base build option that you often want to start to build around early. Using those as a lab reward, particularly when the best chance is from Uber Lab which is an end game piece of content, is just bad.
If dark shrine is in the path I run lab, I always go for it until I grab it until I got twive blessed. It's might be more efficient to rush merc lab but rush the lab make me feel like I'm doing a chore.
We did factor in dark shrines in our data, they just counted as an extra run. Regarding how often you find the extra don’t use, we didn’t take in nearly enough data to make a claim about that.
Couldn't the gem xp options be pretty great for when you don't hit the non transf to tranf option? We could get a level 20 gem way earlier than normal.
i feel like as long as you aren't playing a top 5 build, you should be able to buy the gem you need after selling the best one you get from a few normal lab runs.
Getting my 21 20 VD of seething in gauntlet was total nightmare, even with temple corrupt rooms. I clicked on every darkshrine, and ran ~60 uber labs to get it. I would not wish such a GREAT experience to anyone, especially on leaguestart. If you don't care about 21 20, it's fairly easy, and other options usually is decent too. But if you do... "still sane, exile?"
I will not recommend run merc lab, golden door etc. Much longer to run. My plan is to go fast campign, do all 3 labs while campaign, maybe I will be lucky. If not I will try to sell those what I will get and buy something for me. If not, I will start doing atlas. Price will go down super fast on those gems. Around tier12-14 I will check the market and buy it.
Trade league makes it a bit easier, sometimes you can trade gems you get for currency and end up purchasing one you want, sometimes not. But yes starting league with tgem in mind for build is a risk!
I wouldn't started league with a trans gem build, that's for sure! But I clearly know, after some analysis, that green gems are the best to transfigure. Traps, minions, some bow skills are VERY strong as a league starters. So I'll definitely convert only green gems.
@@aer0 Mostly the amount of trans gems in the game. Which, to be clear, has nothing to do with the content talked about but the state of the game after patch.
So real quick and dirty from copy pasting the wiki table of blue skill gems into excel and watching the rowcount :') There are 108 blue skill gems, which is the worst one to get. Let's be pessimistic and assume all of them have 3 transfigured versions. I'm pretty sure there are some in there that don't, but pessimistic is best when calculating odds so we can only be positively surprised. So 108*3 = 324 different options on same color gem. So now our odds to win are 1/324, but we get 3 draws without duplicates don't forget about that! So our odds, while not particularly great, are not quite as miserable as you might suspect. So firstly you could win on the first draw with a 1/324 chance. That's actually real bad. But then, granted you lost that you can win on the second with a 1/323 chance again. Finally, granted you lost both, you still have a chance to win the third draw with a 1/322 chance. P = 1/324+(1-1/324)*1/323+(1-1/324)*(1-1/323)*1/322 = 0.009259... So roughly 0.9259% base chance. Now this only occurs 90.69 (nice) % of the times because if you have the better option you're obviously going with the more powerful roll right it is what it is. Now that other 9.31% I'm going on the same assumption your gem has 3 transfigured versions and you only want 1 of them so there's a third chance over those attempts. So your chance will be 0.9069*0.009259+0.0931*1/3 = 0.0394. So 3.94% chance of finding your gem on any given Merc Lab. Expected value would then be to spend 25-26 runs for your exact gem on average in SSF. Now you can do the math on your own lab times, provided a good labyrinth I really wouldn't do a 14 room with golden door and side room kind of ordeal on a league start that's massochism, but granted a good Merc Lab how fast can you get to the divine font and out? That's going to be the question. Lab runners do it in a couple minutes each. I probably do it in 5-10, some may do it in 10-15. That's up to you to calculate for your own experience. But say we take the upper ranges here and I need 10 minutes per lab, I get a little unlucky need 40 runs, that's 400 minutes right there. Almost 7 hours of my league start gone. But finally, you also have at any step along this way the chance to find a different high value gem. You can absolutely go do a few runs to see if you get lucky on your own gem. Maybe 1 or 2 hours of spam runs and if you get unlucky on your own gem you might get something sellable. If you get unlucky on those as well you just overleveled for white maps for 2 hours so you'll be fine farming some currency in white maps for a while. It's definitely viable but, just like aer0 says here, make sure you got a backup plan. That's good advice for everything though. Build you've never played? Make sure you know what to reroll it into if you don't like it, or better yet practice run it if it's out already. Farm strat? Make 2 just incase something gets nuked or buffed that ruins your original. Hell get a backup wife in case your first noticed you laughed at this.
i dont care others build really.i have same build for starter. After i got enough currency than skip another build.i will not use new gem until Lvl 90 no need speacily if you playin a cyclone:))
