How does the Vitamix do at crushing Ice? In this video, I put one of my older Vitamix blenders to the test to see how it does with two different methods.
So far the Nutri Ninja Auto IQ did best at crushing ice in small batches.
See that test here: • Can the Nutri Ninja Au...
The Vitamix wasn't as good at doing as big of quantities as I thought, but I still think it's the best blender out there because of the tamper, power and long warranty.

Here's the one I'd currently recommend for small families:...
(Explorian E310):amzn.to/2rfV0ee
Or a refurbished 5300 if you need a bigger container: amzn.to/2Ia9WFp
Both are affordable, no frills and a great warranty.
It's much better to do it in smaller batches because of the weight build up on the top.
Would be much easier with a wider-base lower-profile Vitamix (like the 5300 linked above), but it's a trade off because the wider bases don't perform as well with small batches.
Will do a future test/demo with a wide-base unit.
This was just a test and not a typical task I'd do in the kitchen.

Add water to it!!
Then drain that off after it's crushed!!!
WORKS GREAT!!!!!
SO EXCITING!!!!!!
Though many people are saying to add water first, THANKS for doing it without water just to better understand what actually happens in this scenario.
Agreed
I tried frozen bananas and only little lemon juice and got so scared about the noise -:)
I never know when to increase the speed of the blender. I understood that you have to turn it to the maximum quite quickly otherwise the machine can burn. In fact, I noticed that at lower speed for only a few seconds, it starts smelling burnt when crashing hard/frozen food.
Thanks for the video but, yep water like M Gm said. One guy made snowcone ice in less than 3 seconds.. crazy just by adding water.. Vitamix demo guys have fun with that one. Quite impressive
It is very helpful video for my new Vitamix and also all good reply too!!
Buy a blend tech, amazing how much better it is, I own both and there is no comparison!
Interesting. I bought a Blendtec first and wasn’t happy with it, so I returned it. (It didn’t pulverize the seeds in berries for my smoothies). Then I bought a Vitamix and my smoothies were soooo much better. Sooo smooth and no grit at all. Everyone has their preferences though, right? 😊
Same prob I’m having ....even with new and improved
I WOULD NOT PUT YOUR HAND IN WHILE THE MACHINE IS PLUGGED!
But he put his hand into the jug only AFTER he removed it from the base?
He doesn't have it on the motor.😂😂
Will it blend?!?!
How quickly does ice dull the blades?!
I can do the same with a hammer. "lol"
DUDE YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING or how to use the blender. I have the same exact blender for about 8 yrs and use it successsfully for shaved ice all of the time. You have to add water and pulse using the middle wheel, the on/off or the variable. This will crush all the ice. Then take the top off, cover the blender with a tray or plate and bend it over to remove the excess water. If u dont use water like you've done, you still pulse it and every so often use a spoon or silicon spatula to stir it a little then continue pulsing. Keep doing that til all of the ice is crushed.
turn on high
Thanks for the comment...
I'll try that next time - the snow was packed SO tight that I'm not sure it would have mattered. This kind of thing also happens when I make nut butter in the tall container, can't put too much.
The good thing about the tall container that I like though is that it's good for smaller batches.
nutribullet does better snow but it will break.
JUST PUT SOME WATER IN IT!!
Sheesh....
you need to add water.💚
Subed ages ago and forgot to turn on notifications
Doing the wrong way
My ninja bullet actually does better than this.
No it doesnt
@@jrrizz0563 I really does. not just a crush, it turns it so to fine snow.
