I used to work as a cook at bjs, and each restaurant is different because if you go to the actual brewhouses (where I used to work), it's made to perfection and I loved being an appetizers cook
hi i have been working at BJs for a little over two years now and there are definitely some cheaper options and a new more expensive option, our kids menu is actually not age restricted at all and i will sometimes have grown adults who just know that the kids menu is way cheaper, ik the portions tend to be a lot smaller but our mini pizza on the kids menu is the same size as the one on the adult menu, but off the kids menu it also comes with a choice of side and is about half the price as the adult menu, only catch is it has to be one topping only so it can’t be a specialty pizza (price comes out to just under $8), since you’ve been in the menu changed and our newest most expensive item is the surf and turf, however, by choosing pricier sides and adding toppers to steaks it is very easy to increase the price to be even more expensive and get an item easily $40+ if i were trying to make the most expensive meal i could i would get the ribeye with at least one topper (garlic butter is a classic, our bacon jam is great, and there’s always mushrooms and onions if it’s your thing) but i’ve also had some people get more than one topper on a single steak and you can always get them to put it on the side if you want to experiment, i would also get two premium sides instead of one, our sriracha brussels are incredible and our mashed potatoes are the best (but get them loaded bc more $$)
You can't just try the most and least expensive. The in-between is really good. Their baby back ribs, parmesan crusted chicken with lemon chardonnay cream sauce and the mozzarella tomato salad are really goo.
Steaks always come down to the cooks, and most cooks tend to under cook the steak because there always whiney customers that keep sending it back or it was over cooked so they have have to remake a new one. This way if it gets sent back, it's easier to cook more
My dad tries pizzas at every restaurant he can, and he said BJ's pizza pretty much tasted like Pizza Hut's pan pizza. He didn't really care for it, lol
I've never even heard of this restaurant until one opened up by us just a few years ago. For lunch I would get the bbq chicken salad, but for dinner, I always get the tri-tip and shrimp combo, and it is ALWAYS delicious! The highlight of course is getting a pizookie for dessert! ❤
Consider adding in their middle dish. I understand it might be a bit of an issue doing so because the most expensive dish might be so expensive that the middle dish is the second most expensive. So you should go with the median price instead. But I also understand that causes an issue because it means you basically have to thoroughly prepare before you go to each place and figure out what the median is ahead of time (it takes a bit of time unless you have everything digitized which you don't, so even if you have a good way of calculating it, digitizing the items will take time).
I'd love to see a slightly altered edition where you order the most 'value' not necessarily cheapest but something on that end of the scale you think looks good and 'most expensive' that's maybe a top 3 item. Maybe a way to vary the menu items more and get an idea of bang for your buck while still having the normal dietary preferences we all have when ordering at restaurants, just a thought

My favorite things at BJ's is their avacado egg rolls. It sounds weird, but it works. I usually pair that with a Jeremiah red and a bacon guacamole burger with pepper jack cheese. Also, I like a burger with a thick, bready bun. Better than having a soggy mess. Also, try ordering steak done at least medium. Sometimes it's a perfect medium. Other times, it could be closer to medium well or medium rare.
And here in the UK there’s a really nice restaurant a few streets from where I live where a burger costs £7.50. $9.39USD. It has a home made burger patty, pulled pork, cheese, bacon, jalapeños, super crispy yet super soft fries 🤤
I love Bjs bbq chicken pizza, we used to get it constantly when i was growing up. I think the location closed during covid which sucks cuz i wanted to go there and get the beer sampler and a pint for my 21st birthday
It looks better than what you think. I had a pizza there the one time it was overrated. They have a lot of TVs in there. The one I went to the ones around it. The other restaurants are a lot better. BJ’s has a lot of good healthy choices. It’s great if you have a bunch of people with different dietary needs. As for the $35 ribeye meal. You get what you pay for. If you want steakhouse quality meat go to a steakhouse and pay for it.
Never go with the cheapest or the most expensive, both in most cases will disappoint. Go with stuff in the middle, especially at BJ's, those are worth it.
