Hey Carl (Kyle), You're placing your tire chocks upside down. Great video, thanks for uploading. Just wanted to give out the tip! I placed mine like that once and the smooth side slides easily, especially on asphalt and concrete.
Hey Carl (Kyle), thanks for the tip! I'll make sure to place my tire chocks the right way. By the way, have you heard about the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series? It's a versatile powerhouse with a massive 5kWh capacity, fast recharging, and waterproof technology. Perfect for outdoor adventures and backup power. Check it out if you're interested!
I just bought an RV to do full-time stationery RV life! You guys have been a tremendous resource in the planning process and I cannot move forward without you so thank you for everything! I am 51 years old almost 52 single and a woman
That's fantastic to hear that you're planning to do full-time RV life! It's such a fulfilling way to embrace nature and create memories. Based on your needs, I highly recommend checking out the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. With its massive capacity, fast recharging, and versatile sockets, it's perfect for powering your devices and appliances during your adventures. Plus, its waterproof technology ensures it can handle any weather condition. Happy RVing!
Thanks Hanks! I never assume I know everything. Never considered insulating the overhead vents. Didn’t even know Camco made an easy to install insulator. You guys are awesome.
Collapsible laundry baskets are great! We also have a collapsible mop bucket for washing the RV, and in the kitchen, collapsible colander and measuring cups. The sure do save space, and have held up over the years.
Since I'm in a small travel trailer, for a laundry basket, I use one of those black/yellow totes that I store misc. items (bottled water / life jackets). It stays outside and is completely waterproof. As far as a bucket, a Lowes blue bucket is larger, general purpose and can even be used as a stool.
Thanks, Hanks! I needed that! The cellphone holder is what I have been looking for for sometime. I have one but it falls off. Plus I lose my phone between the seats all too often.
For the last one (Valterra external sewer valve), I added a stainless steel hose clamp over the connection after twisting it on. It will keep the valve from moving around when you connect/disconnect your sewer hose, and also keep the valve from falling off while driving. The hose goes behind the gate, where it twists on, and tighten it over the bayonet tabs after they lock in place.
Is the idea of the hose clamp to just get in the way, block it so you cant twist it off? (Because i cant see it actually tighted the thick plastic of the valterra).
Yes, I keep the valve on all the time, so the hose clamp is great. It keeps it from falling off while driving, and it holds it i place from accidentally disconnecting the valve when you're just trying to remove your sewer hose. However if you didn't want to keep the valve on all the time, you would not want the hose clamp because it would be quite annoying to have to put it on and take it off every time you're hooking up.@@SpykersB
I found myself clicking on your videos off and on so while you were in Alaska I decided it was time to just subscribe. Don't know why it took me so long really, you both are fun to watch. Thanks.
Yah 😊 found you video. Lost my TH-cam access, cause got my cellphone taken with the motorhome and 2 of my fur babies. But you have always been my favorite watched videos cause they always make me laugh. I love the silliness 😅
I believe I recognize the RV park you are in, are you in Bend filming this one? If so I LOVE those very long and wide pull through sites!!! Thanks for this video, it got me thinking of a couple gift ideas :).
We have the temperature/humidity sensor. I epoxied a couple of magnets to the back and stuck it on the refrigerator since counter space is an issue. Attaching a magnet to one of the sensors allows it to stay sheltered and attached to the pin box in camp for an outside reading.
Thanks for the tips, we switch from Digest-it to Liquifly, the bottles costs about the same, but you use half as much of Liquifly, so Liquifly is have the price. Both work about the same!
Good job! Yes - using a "real" dehumidifier is important - even just drying shower towels overnight. We don't full time and when the camper is parked we open all the doors to the cupboards and closets - especially when in storage. The tip you didn't include that is one of our favorites is quick connects for the water hose. We put them between the hose and pressure regulator, then the hose and filter. makes setting up quicker. Thanks guys!
Yup me too, lol, 25ft hose, 50ft hose, fresh water adapter, garden hose spray adapter, outside water filter, water hose saver, n water gauge stays connected to water hose splitter with a quick connect, all have quick connects on them 😂. 🍻
The Valterra external sewer valve works great if you have two gray tank drain lines on the same outlet. My gray tanks are 35 gallon each, one is the kitchen sink, and the other is for the bathroom sink and shower. By closing the Valterra valve and opening the two gray tank valves, I now have one 70 gallon gray tank and can stay onsite for longer without having to dump my tanks, The bathroom tank normally fills up at least twice as fast as the kitchen tank. All the valves are closed when she moves though!
Just saw this reply. I also have a 5th wheel with two tanks and tried this. The issue I ran into is the tanks sit at different levels so kitchen fills up. Seems like it will back up before bathroom fills up. Have had an issue with this?
I use the iphone 12 mini, so screen is small, so i bought the rubber band that wraps your phone n then clips on a lanyard that is length adjustable, use it when driving and using google maps (my 770 garmin isn’t reliable for directions 🤬) so phone is smack at my chest easy to see for us old blind folks, n a place to carry phone when walking the dog if have no pockets. 🍻
i use the water pockets that came with my camper. I imagine they work a lot better, something to consider. Theyre kind of like shoe pockets but for the shower.
We usually skip right over videos that have ratings in their titles, but you two make everything interesting. AND, you don't whine, like so many other TH-camrs do! Best reason to look forward to Thursdays! Thanks
Oh we are so glad to hear this! That dreaded remotes get stuck so easily in the couches 😅 Thank you for your support in watching our videos! We appreciate ya'll
Not RV'ing yet but have watched quite a few of ya'lls videos which have really helped both my wife and I to get up to speed with some of our questions about living full time in one. Appreciate it and look forward to more!
Been busy, have a couple to catch up on. Busy gutting 2 of our bathrooms, total gut jobs and remodel. Just wanted to say have a wonderful and happy thanksgiving !!!!!!!!
The problem with Damp Rid is that you are throwing away that plastic container and replacing it with a new plastic container that you will throw away. Buy some sheer drawstring organza gift bags and fill them with desiccant beads. The beads come in colors and when the beads lose their color it means they can't absorb any more moisture. Just pop them in the microwave or over to dry them out. When they are back to their bright color throw them back in the bags and put them in your closets and cabinets. I've been using them in my MH for 5 years and haven't had to replace them yet. Thanks for the list! Safe Travels✌☮
Love Dexter!!!! My wife has a merchandise idea for you. "Dexter Salty" T-shirts. Get a sassy picture of Dex on a T-shirt for when you have an attitude. Love you guys and your channel. Very helpful for RVers.
I think if my fifth wheel hitch is falling out of my truck, I've got MAJOR concerns over just a brake cable LOL Great video, I think we've already got like 80% of that list! I'm grabbing those shower corner rods!
Really enjoy your videos. Great information and entertainment. I am curious about traveling ER nurses and how you get jobs. If you did a video on that, it would be great. Thank you.
You should get heat tape for your water pipes. That’s what mobile home owners use so their pipes don’t freeze. They plug into electric outlet on one end. you just wrap them around the pipes and it warms them just enough. You can get generic damp rod at the $1.25 tree. It’s just as good.
Very helpful video! Thanks a lot. I found your Amazon store and that was helpful too. Buy a new travel trailer and preparing to outfit it for a trip from Chicago to Cedar city Utah. My shakedown cruise. Have watched many of your videos and enjoy them.
Thank you so much for your awesome support! We use Google Maps and RV Life App on the iPhone. We don't technically have a specific Garmin or anything like that
A lot of great accessories. I have some of them. I must get the privacy window film. We have the same type of window. I can't put a curtain over it because it is too close to the stove and it is not really shaped for a metal shade. I have threaten to put aluminum foil over it, but then my wife called me a "Tin Foil Hatter" and said it would look like we were trying to avoid paranormal beings that employ ESP. So, privacy window film it is. Thanks for the tips.
nicely done, I am curious are ya'll using actual ceramic plates or a heavy duty plastic type? could Rid-X be used for the black tank as well? works wonders on septic systems .
Thanks Hanks! 🤪 I love youre fun videos! One question! But first, thanks for all the cool Christmas present ideas for "Millie," our lil RV. So, regarding that twist-on sewer dump valve, for me, ... Do we take it off and clean it before we depart the campsite, and then install it as part of our set up when we arrive at the next campsite? Cheers, Eric
Honestly, I really don't know. It seem viable if it will be in your drive way since you can check on it often. Keep us posted if you find anything out! :)
Hi folks I also have a similar truck to yours Denali 3500. Diesel. The height to get to the motor to check oil is to high being I’m only 5’5”, what do you use if any for your truck? My other question is what do you use for a GPS that navigates you concerning heights and things since we are about 60’ and 13’3” high.
For the truck, I honestly just step on the over sized tires and use this as a height booster. Also, check out an app called TruckMap - It's free and great for any vehicle the same height as a semi truck
I still prefer the yellow chalks. They are a better width for the 5th wheel tires and those little black ones just dont cut it. They look like they go to a little kids toy car😅. Everyone should just use the ones they like though. Great video Team Hanks! Especially Dex.
I know that in one of your videos you noted the different colors of the zero g hoses were used for different applications. I can't find that video again. Could you go over that for me?
Hey Robert! Not a problem at all. I have left a video linked here where we talked about our concerns with that certain color type of Zero-G hose. th-cam.com/video/RQ9JeNxobSw/w-d-xo.html
Thanks guys for this list! We had a few of these items, but some of the other stuff will help us a LOT. We are full time RVers for the past year, and we are finally getting to the point that we know exactly what we need to have with us and what can be delegated to the 1976 motorhome project we have or our shed on our lakeview property. Or thrown out!! How do you guys make these tough decisions about what you needed to keep and what you needed to throw away when you guys started? I am specifically looking for input from Renee about clothes, shoes and jewelry, and hubby would like some input from Kyle, I think, regarding the guy-type gadgets and tools. Thank you guys again, we never miss a video and watch it as soon as I get my email saying it's been posted.
Thank you so much for reaching out! It definitely is a challenge. We still struggle with this living on the road full time..can you believe that?! It's amazing how much we get attached to clothes, belongings, etc. I (Kyle) look in my closet and if I haven't worn a specific thing in the past few months, I IMMEDIATELY put it into a paper bag and take it to donation. Out of sight, out of mind :)
Ok, so thanks for the info! But we all have to know: 1-did yall make it out of Canada In time? 2-do yall have a plan to fix the camper where the blowout happened?? BTW- very cute Dexter Christmas shirt!! ❤️❤️ Happy Camping and Safe Travels!! ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hey Carl (Kyle), You're placing your tire chocks upside down. Great video, thanks for uploading. Just wanted to give out the tip! I placed mine like that once and the smooth side slides easily, especially on asphalt and concrete.
Interesting, Kyle may have been placing them correctly since it was that way, and I said, that is upside down! Lol
@justinneel8722 I was just going say the same thing. Flat side to the tires!!!.
Thanks Hanks...we have most of those items. Phone holders sound great. 👍
@@ErvigHenryget outta here, scab. All your comments are trying to sell that Segway product.
Amazon doesn't list "doohickies", so glad you included direct links. Thanks Hanks!
😂
dollar tree damp rid knock offs are great for the price as well
For the kitchen I have found museum pudy works really well for making sure things don't go flying all over the place while driving.
That cushion in the vents also help to darken the inside of the RV on those short nights in Canada and Alaska during the summer.
Right on! We bought them a little late
I just bought an RV to do full-time stationery RV life! You guys have been a tremendous resource in the planning process and I cannot move forward without you so thank you for everything! I am 51 years old almost 52 single and a woman

Thanks for the under $30 video. Very informative and I found me some "I want" items too. Ya'll stay safe
Thanks, you as well!
Thanks Hanks! I never assume I know everything. Never considered insulating the overhead vents. Didn’t even know Camco made an easy to install insulator. You guys are awesome.
The Siamese T. shirt is so perfect. This cat breed acts / reacts sooo uniquely.🙀

Damp rids are a must in RV especially when they use partial board finishes also keeps ugly smells from punching you in the face
Those ugly smells sure creep up quickly too! Thank you for sharing :)
Great ideas, thanks. I see Christmas gifts , perfect. Win Win Win

More to come on Canada!
Spices…do you leave them hanging on the door when towing the rv?
Kyle what do you know about the Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch?
I have known a few people that have them and they absolutely love them. I personally have no experience with them, but they seem legit!
