you can hear the GBH influence in early metalica, James Hetfield would be the first to admit that. I also loved these guys not only for their hard driving sound, but he was one the few punk vocalist i could understand.
Can't stop watching this footy... Gbh is by far one of the greatest punk bands known to history... I really didn't start listening to them until 08 ...went to prison and bought a gbh CD...never forget...their music got me through hard times ...love gbh ATW
Exactly. There's tons of pictures to be found on the internet of Hetfield wearing GBH t-shirts and GBH patch on his jeans vest, even to this day. Liked GBH myself before anyone even heard of Metallica. Without bands like GBH, you can cross bands like Metallica, Slayer, and other 'Big 4's' off the list...

I still have this on VHS ! Have had it for almost 40 years now. I met them, had my copy of City Baby's Revenge autographed by them, saw them play live many times. Great guys.

ITV used to show these gigs last thing at night back then, I remember well seeing the Anti no-where league live on ITV and Animal was getting covered in spit, it's out there somehere on tape.

I was at this gig. 17 years old. Saw Neville Southall, Robbie Earle and Jimmy Greenhoff play for the Vale that year.
I was at this gig near the front of the stage. discharge were on after them. great night.

I was not even 2 months old when this show took place. This is definitely one of those "if I had a time machine I'd go back and see..." moments for me. On the bright side I've been fortunate enough to see the lads play a number of times. And was lucky enough to be on the bill for two of those experiences. I can say with the absolute truth they were hands down some of the most genuine & sincere people I ever met. I've been very lucky to have shared the stage with a lot of bands over the years. Many of them were bands that I grew up listening to and adored. Unfortunately not all of those experiences were great and some were so bad that I never listened to them again. But not G.B.H. (and thank goodness) the first time I really got to meet and hangout with them was backstage in the greenroom after soundcheck. We made our introductions and immediately just started talking about life, music and the Simpsons lol. My band played, they GBH closed the show and killed it of course. We all loaded up our gear and said our goodbyes. A year later they roll thru town and my new band at the time gets on the bill. Within 2 minutes of my arrival to the venue the guys immediately remembered me from the previous year and we picked up our discussion about the Simpsons right where left off. That is one of my absolute favorite and cherished memories ever.
That’s awesome! I’ve had similar experiences as well. Got to share the stage with some of my heroes growing up. Bad Brains being one of the bands. They were all great guys. HR wasn’t in the band at that time which was kinda disappointing I would have loved meeting him and sharing the stage. We got to open for about 10 bands that I looked up to growing up. This was in 91-93. Out of all of those bands there was only one who we had a bad experience with and that was only 1 person in the band. Anyway great stuff brother!🍻🤙

After hearing GBH I changed my style of drumming. There is nothing like them. See 2015 video's on youtube and they are just as strong.
In 82 or so I bought the album sickboy, bristels or what it was called, I liked it but I was more into cockney reject these days. When I see this now over 35 years later, man they were so ahead of their time, brilliant!

Its so nice to sit on my bed with you tube streamed to my tv and drink some 10%beer from Belgium and some good coca, and look and listen to GBH.
I miss the days when us Amsterdam punks squatted a great big house,all Marble on the walls and stairs; three floors and I had the biggest room so everyone sat by me. The marble turned out to be great places for graffiti and all of us got our Social Security checks at the door. And the best thing was that the house was oppositie the Netherlands Bank, where all Hollands gold was stashed. Impossible to break in that fortress, but the coppers who sat in the bullet proof box by the entrance had a fucking show every day, hahahaha 🤣💸💰 We were hanging out of the windows, throwing rocks and eggs and whatever we had to them. I miss it.

Saw GBH the first time they played in the US. It was at the Santa Monica Civic. It was insane. Saw them many times after that! They are still putting out good tunes.
