The part Luz and Eda's confrontation is a complete parallel to Luz and her mum at the start. She feels like once again the people closest to her don't understand her and they just want to send her away. Obviously, this was never the case but for Luz or for most children in this position it would feel like this, its a very understandable response. Even if the adults in the situation have the best interests at heart.
I love that they gave Steve a mini character arc Going from being super loyal to the emperor’s coven to second guessing the coven and then finally rebelling against the coven. Also I love the dig at Disney when luz goes on a heist saying they can’t go on 20 more adventures
I kind of agree but I always saw Steve as a Lilith's man from the first moment we see him. Also Steve definitely has a crush on Lilith I'm hoping for a dipping kiss in the face of certain doom.
My favorite part was when Luis said *"We Don't have time for 20 more adventures."* After Eda said something about a beach day. That is a HARD jab at Disney for not giving them a full Season 3.
According to Dana, after they were told about the cuts to seasons 3 and 4, they had to reshuffle a bunch of content and characters around; so when planning out late season 2, a character was missing (probably one that they originally planned to introduce on season 2 itself) but they still needed someone to fit that role; and seeing the fan reaction to Steve, the crew just decided to keep him around for it.
I still can't get over the tiny cat coven being a thing, I love how Luz said "oh yeah, it's all coming together" and puts up her hood when Raine calls their group the CATS. I thought about that last episode with that demon girl Severine voiced by Dana Terrance who was a representation of her own work experience, like the tiny cat coven sounds like something Luz would join with her kitty ear hoodie. I love the attention to detail in this series 🥺

Lilith is used to singing praises to get attention. When king became, well, equated to a god in her eyes, she defaulted to her praise for attention. Remember when they found King's birth spire?
I never thought of Lilith needing therapy after all she's done. it's great that TOH writers are able to take such things about their characters into consideration.

When working on Gravity Falls he had wanted two old ladies to fall in love and walk away all lovey dovey in the cupid episode (completely nameless background characters that would be gone in a second) but Disney said no and forced him to make it an old straight couple instead. That scene where two old ladies walk past holding each other in a loving embrace? Yeah, there's a bit more context to Steve breaking out into tears here. Horrible that Alex had to wait so long but wonderful that he finally got what he tried so hard to accomplish. Even if it's in a still very sadly censored Disney show, our boy won.
Who else didn't notice Hooty's face when he went to eat the fire bees? I'd love for Hooty to make the final blow on Belos before yelling- "I AM YOUR NEW GOD"

I doubt it. It would be way too obvious foreshadowing based on the way this show likes to hide their plot. Based on details we have, I'd say a snake or a bat are the most likely, with some kind of bird being after that

There are some small details that I really like in this episode (that nobody seems to be talking about for some reason). First, I love the disparity between the reactions of Eda, Lilith, and Hooty when Luz announces that King is a Titan: Eda fears for him, knowing that he's now a valuable target for Belos, Lilith starts to worship him, because of her issues, and Hooty shows excitement for King finally knowing his origin, since he tried to help King come to terms with not knowing his origin in the past. Second, I appreciate them showing us Lilith nearly attacking Steve with her palisman in this episode, since we haven't seen Eda or Lilith use their palisman to cast spells since the end of S1, despite a Palisman being something that should allow a witch to cast magic even without their magical bile sack, something which has Motivated Luz to work to get her palisman since it was first made clear to her all the way back in episode 4.
I think the Collector and King will actually meet each other again. You could hear the desperation in the Collector’s voice when he realised he wasn’t alone (‘there was a way in, there must be a way out’ way of thinking), they would know what a titan looks like and they needed to get rid of the last titan, but the Collector didn’t seem to be aggressive towards King, making me think that it might not be their intent to kill King, or it won’t be anymore if they meet again.
And that's the thing we still don't know much about the collector because the question remains it's a collector of bad person because we still don't know why he was sealed up in the first place a lot of fans speculate he was sealed up because he was a child with too much power. Also judging by those floating cubes it looks like this is the same area where Luz was any episode titled yesterday's lie if you remember that episode it looks like somebody was talking to Luz it could probably be the collector which means the possibility of The collector possessing luz could be true

I just realised the Collector's container looks so much like a Beast Ball from Pokemon. I wonder if they did that in purpose especially since they catch Ultra Beasts which are ultradimensional beings like the Collector
One thing I've been wondering about is what's up with the witches that gets glowing eyes when they use powerful magic, and is it possible that Amity can do it herself since we have seen Willow and Gus do it, and could Gus use the spell at the end of the labyrinth episode to subdue others without having himself be affected?
It’s when there’s a strong emotional response while they use magic. Amity somehow HASNT had that response yet? Not even when Luz was in trouble with her parents/almost died, not even when protecting people or fighting Hunter, etc… She seems to have a lot of control over herself, her emotions, and her magic. A lot of confidence in herself too. I HOPE we see Amity LOSE it
@@Frostfern94 I like your theory too, but i also think it just has to do with naturally being gifted in some magic, willow has been shown to be powerful in plant magic regardless of her emotional state, whereas amity actually never was naturally good at abomination magic ( she did get good by training alot) so i think amity’s case is that she’s just becoming powerful by sheer effort and training which is also nice.
I’m think out of everything, no one really expected Luz and Eda to fight the most. It’s crazy how different their relationship has become since the first episode. At first she was like, “who this naggy this human child?” Now it’s Luz Noceda. The Human. Someone who came to Isles and taught Eda about love, friendship and family. Someone who integrated herself into Edalyn’s life. Someone who came and learn magic defying the odds against her, made wonderful friends, has a loving girlfriend and a kid brother now. And Eda thought all that was worth protecting and that’s why she wanted Luz safe. Because Luz has come and changed her life in the best way ever and she just wants to protect her and the things she loves. (She also needs to keep Luz safe for her own mother) But Luz also loves Eda. And King. She loves her mismatched little family and wants to protect them. Be there for them. Be a source of support and comfort because these people have done so much for her. Sending her away in such a dire time was like a slap.
Its highly plausible Luz will be capable of magic with a Palisman, similar to how hunter is. Whether or not she sticks with glyphs or both is interesting to think about but there is precedent
King might be the key to the collectors freedom it could be possible that the collector isn't evil perhaps he doesn't want to be alone it just wants friendship
Steve has been on Team Lulu since day one, I think we can trust him. Although, that purple worm that was in the scene with him and King before Lillith and Hooty showed DOES remind me of that one from Dragon Prince... and it WAS in his helmet... Probably just a coincidence.
I enjoyed this episode, seeing King go on somewhat of a self discovery journey with Steve was awesome! and i'm happy that the resistance has finally been revealed the Owl House fam, although the part between Luz and Amity was kinda unsettling for me i mean i understand that Eda was just doing what she was trying to do to keep Luz safe but still and plus i can't wait to see what kind of Palisman that Luz will carve i also hope that Luz and friends will reunite with Amity, Hunter and everyone else in the next episode.

I personally feel that Belos is using the Collector and pretending to be an ally just to meet his own goal. Considering that he despises all witches, demons, and magic, it could be reasonable that Belos has no concerns for the entity’s loneliness and desire to be freed from their prison. We’ll just have to see how this might turn out in the last two episodes of S2
Yeah given how everything is shown and the fact that the apparent physical form of the Collector is one of Dana’s favorite characters it’s clear that Belos is 100% meant to be the overall big bad of the show. The fact he willingly killed his own brother over hooking up with a witch shows that this man has no redeeming qualities whatsoever while the Collector is now being shown in a sympathetic light, something we aren’t getting at all for Belos but have gotten for most of the other characters. Heck even Kikimura and the Illusion Coven have gotten this in some way. Besides Belos the only other villain who hasn’t gotten this is Terra Snapdragon so taking this in it’s clear which villains Dana is going to have be brought down big time and which are going to eventually get redemption in some way.

Back when Belos used to be Philip, he wrote in his diary about how he was unable to save countless of his “companions” during his journey to collect ingredients to make a portal back to the Human Realm. I can imagine that Belos will do the exact same thing to the Collector as he is someone who can never be trusted.

With The Collector being set up as somewhat sympathetic in this episode, I'm wondering if Belos will end up betraying them. He does have a tendency to throw people away when they're no longer useful to him.
I’m still kinda sad luz couldn’t adopt a Palisman because she wasn’t sure why she wanted to become a witch. Now that the end is approaching I wonder if they’ll revisit that debacle especially as luz says in the episode she doesn’t have time with the day of unity coming up and her remaining fears of how her relationship with her palisman would be. Also I love the theory Steve is related to Bartholomew someway but it would also be funny if they weren’t, had an encounter with each other n were like wait a minute you look like me
Thanks for using my art again! I really appreciate it! I did not notice the hooty in the hooty! So much creepier now, I was so focused on the teeth in the throat. One thing that stuck out to me was the red pair of scissors that look pretty similar to Marco’s portal scissors. Also the way that king mimicked the titans pose when he falls into the puddle. The change in attitude towards hooty over the seasons has been very dramatic and when he has hugged Luz and King the past few episodes really stood out. Alex (MorningMark) pointed out the first thing I noticed about Steve, his similar appearance to Matholomule, and possible relationship. I’m still interested in King’s pendant that to me, seems to be a key like a map, to a place within the isle (titan).
Thing to keep in mind is that Raine, Darius, Eber and Steve (and maybe Lilith) are the people who will be affect should the draining spell succeed. All of them have coven marks so the magic will drain out of them when the spell is active. Some would say Hunter would be affect too but that doesn’t seem likely because as we know, hunter is human and doesn’t have magic. This is also why Lilith is a maybe because she doesn’t have magic so we don’t know how it will work.
It might just be me but here is my prediction. The rain whispers we see on screen is a grimwalker. Bellos created him after the plant coven head caught Eda asking rain for help. When luz asked rain(grimwalker) to promise to protect Eda he may Have broken his programming because while grimewalkers are made they do what their told to they can start becoming real when something makes them feel. When the feel they are more like who ever they were made in the image of or they are who they are. I got more ideas to help back this up in my mind but to much already. # hunterisarealboynow.

1:07 that ball looks oddly like an ultra beast ball from Pokemon. Now that may be a coincidence or mean collector is as dangerous as an ultra beast. Due note in sun and moon, one ultra beast did destroy the Pokemon world in an alternate timeline.

I remember seeing Zeez Vov Gee 2’s breakdown on the episode as well because he points out the parallel that Eda has with Raine on keeping things secret from Luz so as to protect her and the parallel she has with Luz over wanting to help someone she cares about so much. super late to this party but i also wanted to say that i noticed and appreciated the parallels of the way Steve/king in this episode mirrored the old-timey witches in the time travel episode, right down to replacing the wagon wheel. it goes to show that even with time and manipulation, at their core people/witches are good and do not want to be destructive like Belos has lied about since the start.
I wonder if Eda's suggested beach day is a Star vs the Forces of Evil reference, in addition to the explanation given here. That was what I thought of first when watching the episode.
It’s not really a star vs reference but, a anime one. In anime beach episodes are really common. And since Star vs, owl house and avatar have a anime feeling to it their beach episode is probably a nod to that.
I wanna see what Luz carves as her palisman, what better time to carve it when she is full of emotion and drive, like when all the other witches in Hexside we're choosing their palisman, they had to think about why they want to be a powerful witch, and I feel like Luz will have answered this and we may have a meta touchy feeling monologue esc scene while she carves it. Before she wasn't able to answer why she wanted to be a witch, but the past few episodes I believe have taught her that her family is worth fighting for, the love of her life is worth fighting for, protecting the boiling isles--which has become her second home--and to stop Belos. Listen I’m maybe saying a theory from a long time ago but, what if the collector is trapped because maybe the wild witches had to use their power to put the collector in a ball maybe that would explain why he can’t escape because it’s using a curse that the wild witches put so he can’t escape? that could explain how belos has a green mark on his face, maybe he escaped the curse but he has to use the palismen for to keep the curse at bay, just like how eda used the orange drink for her own curse and that’s why witches had to use palismen. As soon as The Collector said he was looking for a friend and didn't want King to leave, it immediately reminded me of FHFIM Destination Imagination. The boy (he doesn't have a name) doesn't want to be left alone even for a second for the fear of being abandoned again, same with Spinel... Jumping the gun a little but I'm detecting a pattern of autophobia considering all three of these characters' actions are similar to one another regardless whether their phobia is triggered or not.

The Luz vs Eda fight was probably one of the best fights in the show. The emotional weight to this battle was truly amazing
King asked if they could carve him out of wood… could Luz's palisman be a “mini King”?
I doubt it. It would be way too obvious foreshadowing based on the way this show likes to hide their plot. Based on details we have, I'd say a snake or a bat are the most likely, with some kind of bird being after that

There are some small details that I really like in this episode (that nobody seems to be talking about for some reason).
First, I love the disparity between the reactions of Eda, Lilith, and Hooty when Luz announces that King is a Titan: Eda fears for him, knowing that he's now a valuable target for Belos, Lilith starts to worship him, because of her issues, and Hooty shows excitement for King finally knowing his origin, since he tried to help King come to terms with not knowing his origin in the past.
Second, I appreciate them showing us Lilith nearly attacking Steve with her palisman in this episode, since we haven't seen Eda or Lilith use their palisman to cast spells since the end of S1, despite a Palisman being something that should allow a witch to cast magic even without their magical bile sack, something which has Motivated Luz to work to get her palisman since it was first made clear to her all the way back in episode 4.
I think the Collector and King will actually meet each other again. You could hear the desperation in the Collector’s voice when he realised he wasn’t alone (‘there was a way in, there must be a way out’ way of thinking), they would know what a titan looks like and they needed to get rid of the last titan, but the Collector didn’t seem to be aggressive towards King, making me think that it might not be their intent to kill King, or it won’t be anymore if they meet again.
And that's the thing we still don't know much about the collector because the question remains it's a collector of bad person because we still don't know why he was sealed up in the first place a lot of fans speculate he was sealed up because he was a child with too much power. Also judging by those floating cubes it looks like this is the same area where Luz was any episode titled yesterday's lie if you remember that episode it looks like somebody was talking to Luz it could probably be the collector which means the possibility of The collector possessing luz could be true

One thing I've been wondering about is what's up with the witches that gets glowing eyes when they use powerful magic, and is it possible that Amity can do it herself since we have seen Willow and Gus do it, and could Gus use the spell at the end of the labyrinth episode to subdue others without having himself be affected?

Amity somehow HASNT had that response yet? Not even when Luz was in trouble with her parents/almost died, not even when protecting people or fighting Hunter, etc…
She seems to have a lot of control over herself, her emotions, and her magic. A lot of confidence in herself too.

@@Frostfern94 I like your theory too, but i also think it just has to do with naturally being gifted in some magic, willow has been shown to be powerful in plant magic regardless of her emotional state, whereas amity actually never was naturally good at abomination magic ( she did get good by training alot) so i think amity’s case is that she’s just becoming powerful by sheer effort and training which is also nice.
I’m think out of everything, no one really expected Luz and Eda to fight the most. It’s crazy how different their relationship has become since the first episode. At first she was like, “who this naggy this human child?” Now it’s Luz Noceda. The Human. Someone who came to Isles and taught Eda about love, friendship and family. Someone who integrated herself into Edalyn’s life. Someone who came and learn magic defying the odds against her, made wonderful friends, has a loving girlfriend and a kid brother now. And Eda thought all that was worth protecting and that’s why she wanted Luz safe. Because Luz has come and changed her life in the best way ever and she just wants to protect her and the things she loves. (She also needs to keep Luz safe for her own mother)
But Luz also loves Eda. And King. She loves her mismatched little family and wants to protect them. Be there for them. Be a source of support and comfort because these people have done so much for her. Sending her away in such a dire time was like a slap.
Its highly plausible Luz will be capable of magic with a Palisman, similar to how hunter is. Whether or not she sticks with glyphs or both is interesting to think about but there is precedent
I hope the CATTs numbers grow before the end of the season by adding the Hexide group.
King might be the key to the collectors freedom it could be possible that the collector isn't evil perhaps he doesn't want to be alone it just wants friendship

I enjoyed this episode, seeing King go on somewhat of a self discovery journey with Steve was awesome! and i'm happy that the resistance has finally been revealed the Owl House fam, although the part between Luz and Amity was kinda unsettling for me i mean i understand that Eda was just doing what she was trying to do to keep Luz safe but still and plus i can't wait to see what kind of Palisman that Luz will carve i also hope that Luz and friends will reunite with Amity, Hunter and everyone else in the next episode.

I personally feel that Belos is using the Collector and pretending to be an ally just to meet his own goal. Considering that he despises all witches, demons, and magic, it could be reasonable that Belos has no concerns for the entity’s loneliness and desire to be freed from their prison. We’ll just have to see how this might turn out in the last two episodes of S2
Yeah given how everything is shown and the fact that the apparent physical form of the Collector is one of Dana’s favorite characters it’s clear that Belos is 100% meant to be the overall big bad of the show. The fact he willingly killed his own brother over hooking up with a witch shows that this man has no redeeming qualities whatsoever while the Collector is now being shown in a sympathetic light, something we aren’t getting at all for Belos but have gotten for most of the other characters. Heck even Kikimura and the Illusion Coven have gotten this in some way. Besides Belos the only other villain who hasn’t gotten this is Terra Snapdragon so taking this in it’s clear which villains Dana is going to have be brought down big time and which are going to eventually get redemption in some way.

Back when Belos used to be Philip, he wrote in his diary about how he was unable to save countless of his “companions” during his journey to collect ingredients to make a portal back to the Human Realm. I can imagine that Belos will do the exact same thing to the Collector as he is someone who can never be trusted.

Thanks for using my art again! I really appreciate it! I did not notice the hooty in the hooty! So much creepier now, I was so focused on the teeth in the throat.
One thing that stuck out to me was the red pair of scissors that look pretty similar to Marco’s portal scissors. Also the way that king mimicked the titans pose when he falls into the puddle. The change in attitude towards hooty over the seasons has been very dramatic and when he has hugged Luz and King the past few episodes really stood out. Alex (MorningMark) pointed out the first thing I noticed about Steve, his similar appearance to Matholomule, and possible relationship. I’m still interested in King’s pendant that to me, seems to be a key like a map, to a place within the isle (titan).
Thing to keep in mind is that Raine, Darius, Eber and Steve (and maybe Lilith) are the people who will be affect should the draining spell succeed. All of them have coven marks so the magic will drain out of them when the spell is active. Some would say Hunter would be affect too but that doesn’t seem likely because as we know, hunter is human and doesn’t have magic. This is also why Lilith is a maybe because she doesn’t have magic so we don’t know how it will work.

It might just be me but here is my prediction. The rain whispers we see on screen is a grimwalker. Bellos created him after the plant coven head caught Eda asking rain for help. When luz asked rain(grimwalker) to promise to protect Eda he may Have broken his programming because while grimewalkers are made they do what their told to they can start becoming real when something makes them feel. When the feel they are more like who ever they were made in the image of or they are who they are. I got more ideas to help back this up in my mind but to much already. # hunterisarealboynow.

super late to this party but i also wanted to say that i noticed and appreciated the parallels of the way Steve/king in this episode mirrored the old-timey witches in the time travel episode, right down to replacing the wagon wheel. it goes to show that even with time and manipulation, at their core people/witches are good and do not want to be destructive like Belos has lied about since the start.
I wonder if Eda's suggested beach day is a Star vs the Forces of Evil reference, in addition to the explanation given here. That was what I thought of first when watching the episode.
It’s not really a star vs reference but, a anime one. In anime beach episodes are really common. And since Star vs, owl house and avatar have a anime feeling to it their beach episode is probably a nod to that.

Before she wasn't able to answer why she wanted to be a witch, but the past few episodes I believe have taught her that her family is worth fighting for, the love of her life is worth fighting for, protecting the boiling isles--which has become her second home--and to stop Belos. Listen I’m maybe saying a theory from a long time ago but, what if the collector is trapped because maybe the wild witches had to use their power to put the collector in a ball maybe that would explain why he can’t escape because it’s using a curse that the wild witches put so he can’t escape? that could explain how belos has a green mark on his face, maybe he escaped the curse but he has to use the palismen for to keep the curse at bay, just like how eda used the orange drink for her own curse and that’s why witches had to use palismen. Because palismen have different powers that witches don’t that’s why belos use’s palismen and not witches. But hey this is probably completely wrong but still it’s just a theory
