I really appreciate when demonstrators on yt still allow themselves to work like they normally would instead of only a certain way for the camera view. I think it's important for learners to see how a master actually works with a medium. And I love that you talk so much about that aspect of filming vs in person, and that sometimes, like this vid, you let yourself turn your hand like you want. Super important!
I recommend Suzie and Kirsty Meakin’s channels all of the time because you both understand the science of acrylic products and doing nails, and play with design and art. Kirsty uses a thin layer of acrylic under designs too with a similar explanation, and her regular models/clients show that it works.
Do you not do nails? Or are you new here? Lol almost every nail tech knows about adding a thin clear layer first! Susie and Kirsty are definitely not the only ppl that do that.. literally almost everyone I watch here on TH-cam adds a clear layer first.. and just so you know there are 3 reasons as to why you add a thin clear base.. 1. It gives something to file down to when taken off nails when doing a redesign so you don’t continuously keep going at the natural nail with a file.. just take everything off the top till you hit the clear base and then your done! Start making a new nail design on top of the old clear base.. 2. Clear has no pigment so it’s the strongest acrylic you can use.. so you want the strongest acrylic at the bottom when building a nail.. then add color acrylic and art on top then cap in clear to Sandwhich it all in.. like building a house you want cement at the base! Just like Susie and Kirsty say.. then 3. Colored acrylic can be extremely pigmented depending on the color.. so you want to put a clear base down first so it protects the natural nail from staining for all the pigments from the colored acrylic! Does all that make sense? It shouldn’t even matter what color and design your planning on doing you should ALWAYS put a very thin clear base down for many different reasons! Just get in the habit of ALWAYS doing it! Hope my story book I just wrote helps you or someone else out!! That took a lot of effort lol

Suzie, I've been watching your videos for years, and your passion and artistry is amazing. Your nails always look fun, bold, and yet still sophisticated. You are teaching very complex skills in a way that a beginner can understand, and you are always so encouraging! You are the ICON! 💙🤍💙

I wish we could share pictures on here! I did this with eyeshadow back in the summer on a rainbow pride set and it was alot of fun to do! I love using the powder eyeshadow (loose ones) as well as using eyeshadow as rub on powder (especially the metallic eyeshadow) it's so much fun to play with. So gorgeous as always susie 💚
Not gonna lie, I was always wanting to use eyeshadow but I didn’t know wether it was good for the nail or not. Ps. Love your background! So magical and wintery.
I've tried using a highlighter by tapping it into slightly wet nail polish (when it was still just a bit tacky) very carefully and painting clear polish over it. It looked so nice...
I used to put eyeshadow in to stretch out my collection and customise colours as good acrylic isn't cheap. But I never thought to add it to the bead and create that marble effect. It's stunning! Haha when you mentioned the chalk it made me laugh as I tried that too! Preferred eyeshadow. I'll have to watch the video. It's so nice to be doing nails again and back on TH-cam, my passion is re-egnighted. After a tough few years, toxic relationship, bad break up and having all my equipment ruined (down to pots of gel, acrylics, even polish, glitters and chrome powders) I'm starting again and I'm so happy. Right on time Suzie, watching while I fold my laundry. Thank you🥰😍. I have a question, is there a platform where we can share pics of nails that we created or designed, with you?
I was only a makeup lover for many years and what turned me to nails was finding out I could use sparkly eyeshadows as nail toppers. Since then I've spent the last year experimenting and creating new techniques to use both shimmer and matte eyeshadows on the nails under a clear topcoat. Will likely do a video compiling what I've learned soon. But so cool to see it done with acrylic here!!
All I kept thinking was DIY'g this for my kitchen counter 😆! It's GORG 🤩 love love LOVE this combo for my kitchen counter AND my NEW NAILS😍thanks forever!!!!
These are beautiful, such a good color combo with all the same type of blue eyeshadow, blended different, or just chunky pieces such a really really coolio idea for personalized nail acrylics. Awesome sauce Suzie💅🎨💯✨✨✨🥰🥰🥰
Works well with powder blushes, highlighters and, if you really want a nude shade that matches your skin, mineral foundation. Just make sure that your powder doesn’t contain too many oils. You can do your nail extensions first and pick up the colour powder using alcohol and brush it on, then seal with topcoat.
