Hi! You are placing an NVMe stick in a NVME to SATA caddy and connecting to the SATA port or placing on a PCI-e card to the motherboard? If SATA, try another SATA port. I have had 25 in a classroom go bad (this is one of them) and had to retire them for Optiplex 7410 AIOs.
@@StevePringle I got it here. I found a video on TH-cam teaching how to make some settings in the BIOS and service mode of the motherboard. but answering your question: I used the PCIe x16 slot for my NVMe SSD.
I'm having this same problem. I was trying to change the boot to the nvme ssd, but my BIOS does not recognize it. my PC is a Dell Optiplex 3020 Slim.

Fan in PSU - Replace PSU or check surge protector
Fan on CPU - Try spinning manually
