@@2abug Well, they released a whole album of anime covers, what are you talking about? 😂 As I was listening to their "Anime Medleys" and the reactions of the crowd, I realized that they were perfectly right in making that "Animetic" release. It permits them now to perform at venues like this Japan Expo, tailgating into these cultural events as part of a bigger Japanese cultural agenda. Which is a very smart move for the band of their type. They are a niche music project, and they need to think of ways to ride a bigger wave, so to say.

@@65FreeSoul I personnally always think power trio is the essence of rock music. It has to be rough and straightforward music. Police is of course a great example, Asterism too. I was at the performance filmed here, just beside Lap Chi san who filmed, and they totally took me in. Even more at their earlier and longer performance on the convention main stage on the same day. Another 3-some japanese band I saw live last week-end (in a very different style of rock music) who totally took me in: The Let's Gos. Amazing ladies.

For me, how a three-piece rock band that cannot play delicate or complex chords directly faces and solves this problem (what musical devices and techniques do they use to make the chords audible)? It's important to know. This is a very important issue. We hope for your understanding.
@@65FreeSoul It's a valid concern, that it's difficult to reproduce live what you have in the album version of a song. But for the live performances, it's actually not needed. The crowd does not hear a lot of intricacies while standing in front of the stage. Actually, simpler things sound even better, in my opinion. For example, as I was standing there during their performance of Titan, when they did the vocal harmonies between them three, I was thinking exactly the same thing which you expressed: too difficult to perform live. None of them are really great vocalists. HAL-CA is the best singer among them, but MIYU and MIO could not really do it properly under these very difficult conditions. They are amazing instrumentalists and make very few mistakes while playing, but singing... Difficult. You may check their performance of DAWN in Ichigo hall, during their last performance at Japan Expo on Sunday, July 14th. You can find it on my channel. I think it was straightforward magical.

上手い下手とかの問題じゃなく音楽ジャンルや編成上の問題でこの3ピースでの生演奏は少々厳しいように感じました。
例えばPOLICEのように各パートがそれぞれの楽器の本来の守備範囲を拡張するとか、実際には鳴っていないコードをどう感じさせるか？など
各メンバーが自分の楽器に関してハイテクなだけじゃ解決しない問題が残されてるように思います。とても難しい課題ですけどね。
とファンではない人が申しております。ファンはそんな事は思ってませんよ。３ピースでこの音が出せる自体凄い事だと思います。

ファンの方々からは「知りもしないで貶すな」的なレスがあると予想はしてましたが、それはお門違いの反論だと申し上げておきます。
彼らの演奏技術が高いことはすぐにわかりましたしそこは認めています。ただ3ピースのロックバンドの生演奏問題というのはそれこそ
何十年も前からある普遍的な課題であり、これまでの数多のバンドと同じようにASTERISMもその問題をまだ乗り越えられてはいない
という指摘をしただけです。批判しているのでも貶めているのでもないです。これはそう簡単に解決できる問題じゃないんですよ。
ギターが単音でメロを弾いていてベースも単音、ドラムは和音を作れない。楽器だけだと2音、ボーカルがあって3音しか鳴っていない。
コードを鳴らしてる楽器は一つもない訳で、それぞれがそれそれの役割がいくら凄かろうが音が「スカスカ」になるのが必然なのです。
ASTERISMのお三方にはそこを克服する「バンドとしての」成熟と独自のアイデア（アレンジ）を期待したいと思います。
