Thanks guys!! This was probably one of the best interviews I’ve watched about CR. My wife and I will be visiting again in January. We were there in April this year also.
"Off the hamster wheel." That sums it up perfectly. We just came back into town after spending a few months in the mountains near Turrialba. It felt a bit like coming home. We're staying in a rental house in Invu that we'd love to buy, which is very near Chachagua. This area near La Fortuna is one of our favorites in all of Costa Rica, and we completely understand how Bob and Ziggy are so content here. :-)
This was an amazing interview. I myself am planning to retire early to Costa Rica and this interview put fresh air in my hopes and dreams. Thank you Team
Great video.I love hearing stories like this. I retired early and have been down there at least half a dozen times and love it. I can't seem to get it out of my system.I fell in love with the place my first trip. Thanks for the great video.
What a nice couple. So happy to see that you bring people that show what it is really like to live here. Lots of times there are videos of gringos feos that are just miserable.
Ah Ha, My old friends the German Shepherds! The best and most loyal companion a human can have! If i moved to Costa Rica i would have at least one German Shepherd! Great couple! Thanks for the history!
Perfect proof to know they got off the hamster wheel, they don’t know what year they moved. I love your channel, you are part of my stress relief. I woke up with a headache and now it’s gone. When I move you can interview me
You're right Michael, I've done the concert thing, don't miss it now, besides most groups that I love don't tour anymore. Living in Costa Rica would be peaceful.
It was nice to hear some expats from SoCal, Im from Orange, CA 🍊 and they grew up a tomato throw away! Im so happy to hear they are making it. If I can just convince the wife, I would love to retire there, and escape the “Hamster Wheel”
Hey Bob from the video...if you check in here, I was wondering if you competed in any no-gi NAGA events back in the day(circa 2006-2009 or something like that) back on the east coast(New Jersey & New York). You look exactly like I guy I fought once. I still have a picture actually.
Love this sh#t! As a Canadian that owns a property in Ocotal, trying to relay the Pura Vida to the masses here is difficult. Most don't believe that the lifestyle is real. Keep on hermano. Dios bendiga.
Michael, another fandamtastic video very well done and presented. And thanks for introducing me (us) to Bob and Ziggy. They're starting the new chapter of their lives with a bang in, in my opinion, the absolute BEST place in the whole damned planet they could have chosen. I'm sure I'll meet them when I get there, and you and D'Angelo (sp?) and I'm looking forward to it. You ask...why do you think we'll meet? My answer...because I want it to happen :) I have already started my transformation into being a digital nomad and I'm excited! I'm building my H Dambulance now and it's gonna be frickin SWEET. What the hell is a H DAmbulance? A retired 4x4 ambulance that I'm turning into my self sustaining tiny house, which will also be the office I operate out of vloging my informative travel videos onto TH-cam. I'm building my channel as we speak. And...in the H DAmbulance with me and my dog will be one of my Harley Davidsons. That I can load in and out whenever I want...easily. Pulling behind us will be a closed in trailer hauling my other Harley Davidson...and stuff. So, I'll have two H.D.s and an "ambulance". H DAmbulance. After my build, my subscribers will get to come along to Costa Rica on a travel adventure, and I'll be sending them every bit of information I can gather. Like...do's...don'ts, immigration rules, real-estate, lifestyle changes, and the list goes on...and on...and on. And the cool part is, I've got a cool friend down here named Michael that owns a travel business that can hook folks up with whatever they want and he's a straight shooter. He'll treat ya right. DAMM!!! This ain't no frickin sales pitch!!! Sorry Michel. I ain't tryin to sell anybody shit. My cards are always on the table, and I speak the truth from my heart. I'm just excited about my plans, and I want so say THANK YOU for being the inspiration behind it. You started this shit buddy! :) haha For me, what started out as just a curiosity about Costa Rica lead to a brother steering this old dog to TH-cam to get some answers. And then there was Michael. :) You are a bottomless well of information and your delivery always has me smiling, taking notes, and leaves me anxious for your next video. Until I understood that I could start making a few bucks off TH-cam, and then seriously studying and learning about vloging and making videos and stuff, (yup...I payed for a few courses) I just felt you were making some damned good, informative, honest, unbiased videos. Thank you. And now that this old dog is learning new tricks, I have a pretty damned good understanding on what's needed for me to operate comfortably being a digital nomad. With that understanding comes my realization how frickin spot on you are on your content and delivery, as well as me understanding that, unbeknownst to both of us, you were schooling me in the start, operation, and maintenance of my digital nomadic lifestyle. Again, I thank you Michael. The first tool is ordered. My drone will be here Monday. Damm!!! I've been here way to long. I'll be seein ya'll later. I'm looking for the ambulance I want. When I find it the transformation will begin. I'll be liquidating all, and my goal is to be on the road by December next year at the latest. See ya...laterz. Choperz...out.
great people & such a nice n smooth conversation there :) I wish you all the best of luck living the dream down there. by the way do you guys think it’s possible to work there as a tattoo artist trying to make a living out of it in Costa Rica ?
We purchased the property in 2019 (to clear the confusion from the video!). The owner was asking $275,000 and we paid $260,000. We are 12 km from Fortuna, about 20 minutes on Highway 702. We are 3 km from the highway, last 2 km on a dirt road. The house is 2 bedrooms, 1 1/4 baths plus another bathroom and enclosed shower by the pool. Everything in good condition and was sold furnished.

Oh, and if Zigi is looking for a decent thick cut bbq steak, La Garra Patta isn’t bad.

No, sorry, must have been a different skinny old bald guy. 😁 I did some gi tournaments on the west coast though.
@@iambobsnyder Nice. You have a twin back east. Not quite as handsome, but you get the drift. Thanks to you and Ziggy for the video. Be well.

Bob and Ziggy, is funny, like Bob Marley and his son Ziggy Marley
What did they have to pay for a property like that in La Fortuna?
We purchased the property in 2019 (to clear the confusion from the video!). The owner was asking $275,000 and we paid $260,000. We are 12 km from Fortuna, about 20 minutes on Highway 702. Is there going to be a future video on how Bob's knee surgery went
in Costa Rica?
You need to upgrade that camara, man
Camera is fine. Lens could've used a wipe.
Unpopular opinion: Bob Marley < Ziggy Marley
