I can related. I was 12-years old when I lost my mom to cancer. It was rough. But I carried on. Enlisted into the military at 18-years old. Left, now have a wife and two daughters of my own.
I can't wait to eventually raise kids and sing this to them. Gonna be a stay at home dad.

Yeah, I was listening to this song while I was sketching Vitaly and Alex (again). And as I continued to draw, I would up drawing Alex sleeping. At that moment, the phrase "I could stay awake, just to hear you breathing." came up. Which then gave me the idea of Vitaly and Alex sleeping on the floor of Vitaly's train car, as the moon light lite part of the car. I really wanted Vitaly to protective and loving of Alex in this one, which is why I had him holding on to Alex as he slept. Just watching him sleep (like how the song stated. Sounds kinda creepy doesn't it, for Vitaly of course.) :squee:

I don't know where you are or what are you doing right now, batwing321, but despite this being an 11 years old video, I need to tell you that it's thanks to you, thanks to this video, that I met the Mother series. Thanks to you, I laughed and cried playing these games. I was still a kid when I first heard your beautiful voice singing this masterpiece of a song, but from that day, I never stopped watching Mother related videos, until I finally played the trilogy on my old PC, how many memories. Even today, every time I re-watch this video, my heart starts beating fast, really fast. I know this may seem exaggerated, but I'm still grateful to you for making this video, I wish all the best to you and everyone you love

Mother 3 is the great ending for Mother series, it represents the end of the journey and even with the sadness and the fade of the one who was your world, at the end life continues.

Without context, this is sad, but _damn,_ this hit hard once I realized what it referred to.
This is a very soothing melody. I really like how it emulate a mother who is comforting her child. I can picture Lucas remembering Hinawa used to sing to him and Claus when their scared. Also I can see this playing in the background in Mask man. Seeing Claus fighting back his program.
I came back to this song the moment that Lucas's DLC for Smash 4 was confirmed! 😄 I can't wait!

This becomes sadder when you realize she's probably talking about claus. Lucas has a party for most of the gane so he can't be the target, meanwhile you only ever fight claus alone as the pork troopers respect him out fear (for good reason, any child with that badass suit, sword, and the ability to smite people with personalized lightning strikes is worth fearing)

There's a beautiful undertone to this song playing in Lucas's trailer while Ness is getting beaten up. In the game the child in the song was Lucas and the singer is talking to the player. Now the child is Ness and the listener is Lucas.

I can agree for the most part.
Pokemon doesn't have much of a story line.. but it's still pretty amusing to use your favorite pokemon against others.
But the Mother series makes you feel.. like most of the characters are significant and wonderful.

Very slow paced, and that's a good thing.
No matter how much i want Mother 3 to have a Western release, if it did it would get HEAVILY censored.
In my opinion, even with a western release the best way to play it for the best experience would probably be the fan translation, which tries its best to stay true to the original.
I was listening to crazy music, and suddenly my sister took my iPod and played this. I nearly cried speaking of when this song plays in Mother 3. THE FEEELS!!!

@frankyagernull Its not so much a translation as it is a localization. Since direct translations of songs very rarely sound well, due to verses not having the same meter when translated, you have to localize it, which may mean that some parts will have to change a bit. But in the end, this is the only way you will ever get to hear this song properly in english, without it sounding broken.
@frankyagernull Well understand its hard to make ryhmes if it had been unchanged from the Japanese version. It helps the song sound better than it would be in a direct English translation. This is still good for an english version, plus there are some parts of the song that carry on too long or are too short in the Japanese version so they had to add extended some lyrics to fit certain parts of the song so it could fill in the original track. In fact one part has like five words just *2bcont.
