    Thank you everyone for watching my video! I should have pointed this out in the video but I recorded everything in Digital Audio. One of the major flaws of this system is the quick battery drain from my camera. I would sometimes go through two fully charged batteries during 20-30 minutes of recording! I'm wondering if it's because it was in Digital Audio mode. I plan on doing another video using just analog mode and let's see if I encounter the same issue...

    Very useful video. I use a MOVO Edge system and have always felt it did a good job. But, it's not easy to really know unless you hear a comparison with another brand or model in a similar environment. That's one reason why your videos are so helpful. I have never tested the effective range of my system. I'm going to do that - as soon as I have time!

      I'm glad you found this video useful! What is the max distance Movo quotes for their system? I found Sony's to be a bit exaggerated but will test it again several times in different areas.

    Also have that combo. Use it for my Xperia phones mainly. Was a bit of a hassle to make it work as it needs a USB-C 3.5mm dongle with dedicated DAC for it to work at all as the internal mic does not recognize it at all even with a trrs adapter or y-splitter.
    How does it work on the E10. Can it get power from the camera? This is one limit that made me a bit disappointed by it using it on the ZV-1 as it only supports analog and no power delivery via camera which is bad for battery life.
    Sadly Sony does not offer a USB-C Adapter which would be handy. Or a proper 3.5mm headphone jack able to handle Sony wireless mics.
    My tip the transmitter when wearing set to -10db in analog mode and check the levels on camera again and set them to peak at -6db . In post raise it a bit. The 0db is mostly too loud and can distort sometimes.

      Hi there! I'm glad you made a comment! You read my mind in regards to the Xperia Pro-I! I did try to use this system with it but it didn't work. However I didn't try what you did and thank you for pointing that out. Which DAC did you use for it?
      It works great with the ZVE-10 except for a few issues. I'm impressed with how far I can talk from the camera! I'm not sure if the ZVE-10 powers the receiver directly. I do notice I have to charge after using it so maybe it doesn't? I'll look more into this. And with the battery drain as you pointed out for your ZV1, its the same with my ZVE-10. I should have pointed it out more in this video. Even after 5-10 minutes of recording, the battery level on the ZVE-10 will drop by 20-40% depending on the environment temp. However, this was in digital audio recording mode and I'm not sure about analog mode. I think I should do another video to compare both modes.
      Thank you for the tip on the transmitter. I avoid 0db and stick with -20db! But will definitely give your suggestion a try because I did notice some clipping if I spoke too loudly even at -20db.

      @@thefitlifechannel2021 I am using the iNassen USB-C Aux Adapter. I am not sure it is available anymore as its two years ago I bought it. But in theory every USB-C dongle with extra DAC should work. I also tried one that came with my LG Wing and that works aswell and afaik has a Synaptic/Cirrus Logic DAC inside. The iNassen if I am not mistaken the Realtek ALC4050 DAC-Chip.
      Maybe you can find something similiar.
      As for running out of power on your ZV-E10 I found out that it should be able to support it. So the battery life of the receiver should be 4-6 hours instead of only 3 hours. Those are data with the analog mode I think. Otherwise I cannot explain your battery drain.
      When it comes to cameras I am using now the Fujifilm X-S10 and this one with analog mode can roughly reach the 3hours (ok usually its below but its more than 2 hours) of recording.

      @@lltechview Nice! Thank you for your recommendations again. Ill try to see if I have one laying around or try to borrow one test it out.
      To confirm your check, I searched Sony's website and the ECM-W2 BT receiver can be powered from the camera for certain models. But I'm wondering why my receiver still needed to be charged if the ZVE-10 is supported. When I connect it the charger after use the battery indicator is orange and needs about 20-30 mins to recharge. I need to do some deeper digging and see what's going on.

      You're very welcome! I'll probably do a long-term review on it sometime next year. It has it faults but I still think it's a good wireless mic system for Sony cameras even going into 2025. It has a clean, professional aesthetic and very easy to use. It doesn't look gaudy if you wear the transmitter on your shirt collar unlike other brands.

    •  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@thefitlifechannel2021 I've bought it and just tried and this wireless system mic is ideal for me. The background noise isn't such a problem like other reviewers say, it means two clicks in Adobe Premiere. Especially when set up on - 10 dB, - 20 dB or using with ECM-LV 1. Your video was very useful and helpful...

      Nice! I'm glad you decided to go with this one and not the more mainstream ones. I use 10db with the ECM-LV1 and 20db when only using the transmitter on my shirt collar and have been able to avoid clipping. But it can still clip even using 20db if my voice is too loud, so I try to stay calm when speaking. I do get some background noise but only when using it in analog mode with something like the Sony ZV1 which doesn't work in digital mode. The background noise can pop up if the camera is hot from recording in 4k for extended periods from my ZV1 and ZVE-10. But this is the downside to some Sony cameras that try to cram hot sensors and processors into compact bodies (smartphones too). I'm really happy you found it helpful! Message me anytime if you have further questions.

      @@thefitlifechannel2021 I use it with ZV-1 in analog mode and first attempts show that 10 dB and ECM-LV1 will be the best option for me. And as I said before, the possible noise can be very easily reduced. And loudness can be normalized, or am I wrong? But according to you is better stay calm when speaking?

      @thefitlifechannel2021  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, the setting you're using is fine and there shouldn't be any clipping or any other issues. This is what I use as well when I use the ECM-LV1. The issue is when you use just the transmitter in case you need the wind screen for outdoor use. It needs to be set at 20db and avoid speaking in a really loud voice

    Are you using genuine Sony batteries? I guess I haven't tried 20-30 minutes with the ECM-W2BT. I would use analog mode anyways - to avoid the hiss from the digital interface.

    • @thefitlifechannel2021
      @thefitlifechannel2021  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good day! Yes I am using genuine Sony batteries. I've noticed hissing even when using my Rode Videomic and SmartLav + microphones on camera. I'm sure you noticed it prominently in the ECM-LV1 and SmartLav + comparison. Both were plugged in directly to the camera (not to the transmitter) and the SmartLav+ had a really bad hissing sound. I noticed when the camera starts to get hot or recording in high temp areas, I can really hear the hissing sound. It's similar to my Xperia Pro-I when it overheats. The audio starts to degrade and can hear hissing as well. I do plan on testing the ECM-W2 BT in analog mode in another video.

      I just recorded a new video in analog mode using the transmitter and I'm still getting a hissing sound in the background. I have a feeling it occurs when the camera is hot, because it was 30 degrees Celsius + during my recording.

      @@thefitlifechannel2021 you turned down the audio rec level in camera?

    • @thefitlifechannel2021
      @thefitlifechannel2021  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cantvlog1247 Unfortunately you can't control audio levels in camera with this system. This is a major issue other reviewers have brought up. You either need to adjust the ATT levels or the transmitter/lapel mic position. I'm not sure why Sony omitted this when it's very important to have!
      I noticed when making my new video, digital audio has less hissing and sounds better than analog mode with this system. I really need to do a comparison video soon!!!
