My parents tell me to be “more like a lady” because I wear jeans (my mom and stepdad) but when I told them I wanted to dress Lolita ( sweet style) they yelled at me.... what but my dads pretty cool
Thats so bizarre and old-fashioned of them.. you can wear whatever you like! Clothes are just clothes. If you still live at home, you might have to wait until you mave out :/
That really sucks, but hey when you move out you can wear whatever you like! Also if you can you can save up money by selling drinks and treats at school. Although that might not be possible because of the pandemic then maybe next year you can! (whenever this pandemic is over)
My parents flipped when they heard the word "Lolita" come out of my mouth because of the unfortunate connotation of the word due to a certain book turned movie long ago. I made them read the interview with Jenna Winterberg and Michelle Nguyen, the Editors of The Gothic and Lolita Bible, and they became a little more accepting once they realized it wasn't what they thought. I don't know if you can still find the article since that was in 2008... but compile articles and facts about lolita fashion that proves there is nothing bad or sexual about it and it may help.
I read somewhere that "kawaii" style came as a sort of rejection of forced femininity, like a pretty pink version of punk. (Which is something I can really appreciate) so I guess it's not a contradiction on their part, but still that's so weird of them and I hope they chill out soon 💖
Just want to add to the makeup section that makeup is NOT a requirement. I wear makeup for events/meet ups like described. Something very natural looking that isn't heavy. But for day to day, so most times I wear lolita, I don't wear make up. Maybe I'd wear a lipgloss if I feel like it, but usually nothing at all. This works well for me personally. Some people feel makeup helps complete the look, but it's not a necessity.
yes!! exactly! It's totally up to personal preference! I feel like I look too young if I don't wear makeup, but I feel that way about most clothes I wear haha
yea and also you don’t have to wear natural makeup. Especially with gothic lolita, it looks really good with classic goth makeup. Look at mana for example.
@@skeetulrich6988 Yeah I like visual kei AND lolita, so I'm kind of torn between what kind of makeup I should learn to do. It seems like Mana is actually an outlier since heavy makeup (especially shironuri) is typically frowned upon in lolita culture
Hot tip for cheap/new lolitas, vintage bed jackets (you know the ones that every charity shop has several of that never sell) are great for casual lolita. The frilly collars are indistinguishable from an actual blouse from a distance! Pop a few cute buttons on the front if it doesn't already have them and bam you have a "lolita blouse" for like $2

I wanted to start a kind of alt/goth style but my mom said she didn't like it so i talked to her about kawaii/pastel fashion and she said maybe! This is really helpful. Tysm
I just got my first lolita dress. I got my stockings, shoes and wig. I'm working the confidence to wear this outside my house like probably to the park or maybe the mall. My dad told me he would definitely take me to the mall because he supports it
i'm a drag queen and i've always wanted to try lolita fashion, i just ordered my first JSK and this video was such a nice refresher to calm my nerves haha
I’ve loved looking at Lolita dresses on social media and online for awhile but I’m finally having the courage to wear Lolita fashion for myself and I’m so excited!! I really love sweet and gothic Lolita but I’m leaning toward sweet Lolita so I’ll start with that. Thank you for this video!! It helped a lot :D
Some other good places to get Lolita is Devil Inspired and My-Lolita-Dress they’re shopping services where you can buy popular taobao brands like soufflé song and Alice girl
This is five months old so idk if I’ll get a response but do you find you have to pay duties on packages from My-Lolita-Dress? I’ve been interested in their stuff in the past but the possibility of that turns me off from them
I've been looking for this kind of vid, thank you~ I've just started but I've been admiring it for soooo long I could cry, so I've decided this is the year yo!
I started wearing Lolita 2 years ago after I fell in love with it, my parents were a little weirded out though, but for the most part my mom was pretty cool my older brother not so much.
A lot of people don't seem to understand that you are dressing yourself for *you* and no one else. It doesn't matter what they think because they aren't wearing the clothes! Also that it's just clothes. If anyone has a problem with your clothes, they may need to reevaluate there priorities. Why does your brother have a problem?
I'm a goth but the exception in which I would wear pink is dressed up as a Lolita the only thing in my way from dressing up as a Lolita is my aunt, she'll probably say no to anything like, soooo yea. It's sadly a no for me😅✌🏻
I think I’m starting by buying some basics that fit in my aesthetic (white shoes, some basic white socks, and just neutral accessories I think I’ll be able to use with most outfits) and I think that is a big help!!
Everyone always told me to be more tomboyish and always excluded me for my fashion taste but thanks for the video I think I finally have the confidence to dress how I want.
I really wanna do a combination thingy between twisted/goru/bittersweet/punk. It's actually going pretty well and im putting together a lot of coords! I'm excited:D
im a decora kid with a couple lolita dresses because im really drawn to sweet too and i really enjoy mixing the two styles ! lolita dresses work really well as midi/maxi skirts without hoop skirts and pettis with my decora looks and my decora accessories fit well with my sweet dresses
You are so pretty and this style is so gorgeous - I'm new to lolita stuff, it started out with just liking cute chokers and liking playful girly style, and down the rabbit hole I went. Now planning to start making my own chokers, earrings and other for sale. Not still sure what is like an exact definition of lolita if I say I sell lolita accessories, so this video is so helpful.
Lolita fashion is probably best defined by its victoriana and French rococo elements! So if you made bonnets, for example, I imagine that would go down really well!
There are second hand places and cheaper places like Bodyline that are good, but generally most of us ether do chores for extra money when we are young, or wait until we have a job!
Work. Im fourteen and i work for a lot of ny money and have a few peices. Not loads but i dont wear lolita every day. Wspecially since i wear a uniform to school. Working a part time job or for neighbors and family is the best way to get money. If your parents allow it if your payed in cash yoh can exchange with your parents and ask them to buy you outfits in return for cash.
I fell in love with the fashion for many years but was not able to wear it. I’d wear off brand or secondhand J-fashion sometimes but I finally visited Angelic Pretty and BTSSB in San Fran and ended up with a brand new JSK, blouse, and bonnet for Xmas. It was super expensive but its so gorgeous and i’m so excited to start collecting more clothes!
Wow thanks! I’ve been looking at lolita for a year now, and I finally want to actually start. This was VERY helpful, I even took notes lol~ Thank you !!!!💜
1: dress is absolutely beautiful 2: the prices are a lot since I’m a teen 😅 3: thanks for the video 😊 💕 👍🏻 Edit: last time I went to my local thrift store was for something else but I saw a section in both the skirts and dresses that looked suitable and I’ll definitely check them out next time I go!
Thanks a lot for this video, it truly helps me and motivate me to start wearing lolita fashion! You seems to be a really kind person ^^ I have always been attracted to lolita fashion but I never found the strenght to wear it in public until now. Well, I'm still afraid but I don't want to restrain anymore!
Good video :) I started wearing lolita in 2010 and all the videos I watched at the beginner are gone now, with a few expections . It makes me happy to know people are still making these videos ^^ and the fact that its so much easier to put a coordinate together
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been interested in Lolita for a year now and I’m finally looking into buying my first JSK soon and I’m so excited! It’s such a beautiful fashion that not enough people appreciate
Thank you! I am new to Lolita this spring, wish I could have watched this a few months ago. Love your coord by the way. You probably should have mentioned that it isn't 'legal' to request customs fraud and some selling sites will understandably refuse to state a low value, so paying the customs charge is going to be a fact of life, which will in addition include VAT in some cases plus the £8 or £12 handling fee depending on the method of shipping (courier incurs more charges). Worst case scenario this has added around 25% to some of my orders to the UK sadly.
awh thank you :3 and you don't need to worry about that if you use white rabbit express :3 that's why I said only some you ask will do it! I hope people click on your comment for further info!
I am a beginner Lolita and I am only 10 >.< Is that too young? I have found some Lolita dresses (pink) On Amazon, but I don’t know whether I should do the order or not. I really love the Lolita style and I want to grow up with it! I am just insecure of people telling me to get rid of Lolita in my life because I might be too young. Thank you for your time whoever reads this. :) stay safe :3
I don't think there is an age limit to wearing any clothes! I would say that it is expensive so it does help to be making your own money for sure, I wouldn't buy from Amazon though, check out Bodyline! they aren't too expensive > www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/?lang=en
Hello! It's awsome that you want to get into lolita! If you love the dresses, go for it! However, please consult with your local comminity before joining them for a tea or a meetup. Most are probably older teens/adults, and might not feel comfortable having someone as young as you around. Ask just in case! Also probably stay clear from Amazon. The dress might be of very bad quality, and I found that in lolita it's amways best to invest a little more and get a dress you will be prouf of then pay for something with dubious quality, ene if cheaper.
I've been wanting to wear lolita since years before I knew of it's existence. I'm still pretty new to it, and I'm loving it. I like the modesty a lot, as I was assigned male at birth, so looking like a girl and being immodest is pretty much impossible for me. I lean more in the direction of classic lolita, although I'm also really interested in military fashion, so I've been looking to see if there's a place where those meet.
Id love to make like, printed T-shirts, you know like band T-shirts? but with lolita stuff on them XD and Im so glad you think so haha, Im trying hard XD how are you doing?
Unicorn Princess that idea is even better I’ll love to have a melty chocolate shirt I’m doing fine I bit scared my doctor called me and said i can’t go out until like a month of this being over
I started getting into lolita months ago but didn't know how nor where to start. Thank you so much for this video, it gave me a better idea on where to go :) Btw!! A few questions. First of all, is it okay to wear lolita in public? Because I'm a bit shy and don't really like to stand out but I believe in expressing myself more so I'm not sure. I'm more into classic lolita but I would like to try the other styles but I have black hair and don't really want to wear a wig nor dye it, would or could it work with sweet lolita? I really wanna be able to pull it off as well as you do
Of course you can wear it in public! We all do haha its just like any normal clothes :) it is likely that people will stare but you get use to it XD and you can wear whatever style you like regardless of hair colour, skin colour, hight, weight, its all good! And thank you XD im sure youl be great! 🥰
I'm definitely a newbie to the lolita world, what got me into it was I just love the different styles and all type of lolita's look like beautiful dolls in my opinion,I'm more drawn to gothic&sweet I just cant wait to start on my journey as a lolita🥰
Thank you! It is a really good video with a very nice explanation and examples provided. I can tell, not only complete newbie can learn something from it.
@@UnicornPrincess I do... And... I just got my dream dress on Rakuten 😻 thinking if I should just buy it right now... But he is kinda right, I seem to loose control.
Well I'm in a similar situation but in my opinion you could ask if they could make time to talk to you about it first then just be honest! I'm sure they'd allow you to do it if it makes you happy. Though if the money problem comes up (because lolita stuff are really expensive agshgshdb) maybe you could do chores for allowance! It really depends on how open-minded your parents are so I'm not quite sure. Best of luck to you! Tell me how it goes :)
@@sampalguita yes! I second this reply! Do chores, earn some money. Unfortunately if you still live at home and your parents don't like it there isn't a lot you can do. You can show them videos and explain it to them, but if they won't budge, wait until you move out! Its incentive to move haha
Compile a backup of articles and facts about lolita fashion to show them there is nothing bad about it. Sadly, the word Lolita has a negative connotation due to an old book and movies by the same name, and absolutely nothing to do with the fashion. My parents flipped when they heard "lolita" because of this. A few articles and examples of what it really is to us helped make them more accepting.
im really thinking about stepping into the community because i have some old accessories that really fit what im imagining i just need to start working with some clothing and shoes but i have a good vision on what i want it to turn out like but either way this video helped alot tysm!
Watching your videos after years of admiring lolita fashion from afar and trying to overcome the fear of going out as a hairy dude in sweet lolita coords so I can start living the cute poofy lifestyle I want 😂
fril/rakuma is the secondhand side of rakuten (like ebay/lacemarket with people selling their personal items), rakuten market, the main site, is more of the amazon but they do also have professional secondhand lolita stores (kind of like closetchild and wunderwelt) hope this helps ♥
lately ive been looking at lolita style and id love to try it out but i dont think it would look good on me ^^' and people would definitely stare and judge so ill probably just admire people like you :D
I hope to start wearing gothic lolita soon, im nervous and struggling due to my country not really having this style. I'm going to talk to a seamstress soon to try to get a dress
im 14 (15 in october) and i really want to get into sweet lolita fashion >< ill be able to get a job soon and i want to save up for my first lolita dress!
What I suggest if you have bought sweet lolita but realised you like goth lolita is that you can definitely resell the dress and the stuff so that you at least get money back.
Part of why i want to have at least one lolita coord is because im tired of most of my gothic putfits being seen as "sexy". Not to mention classic style is just soooo cute and fits right in with my interests of historical fashion❤❤
I’m still quite young but I really really want to try out lolita, I don’t really have any lolita clothing just yet but I recently got a pair of leg warmers which is my first little step! I’m really nervous 😅
I just saw ths video rather late but I would really like to recommend buying silver and gold lolita shoes! It sounds kinda weird but in most prints there is some kinda silver or gold glitter or it is possible to coord the colours with gold and silver so you don't need a thousand shoes when starting out
^__^ Thank you for the guide. My husband loves the lolita style in general, pretty much across the board, although I think he favors sweet, and I would like to very much get into this at some point, though I want to work on my sewing so I can get better at doing this myself (I'm good at designing patterns, just not using a sewing machine yet). And I know he also would like to match me with a more princely style as well, so making some of it myself to coordinate sounds like the way to go for us. Still, this really gives me some ideas and inspiration and explains the different types and layers involved.
I'm starting out with Lolita and I have a question! What things do you wear for athletic activities? I do rock climbing and obviously I won't be able to wear petticoats and frills to the gym, do you have any recommendations?
I wear gyme clothes to the gym haha its just practical! You can grt cute gym clothes, like sanrio have made cute joggers, and cute t-shirt, i basically just keep my eyes peeled for pastal coloured gym thing's or cute character gym stuff!
I found your channel yesterday when I tried to look a bit more into Lolita Fashion and this video really helped me! I am currently thinking about getting into the fashion myself but I am still pretty young, that´s why I´m not totally sure. I am scared that it may be a phase but I really want to try it out... Do you have any tips on how to get started? And is it okay to wear Lolita Fashion sometimes when you go out (in the city, for example), but not in school and not wear wigs and makeup? I am genuinely interested and don´t want to do anything wrong. I am sorry if this got a bit longer.
Lolita is a fashion like any other, some days you wear skirts, some days you wear trousers. Lolita is the same in that you can wear it wherever and whenever you like! You could just wear it at home if you choose too XD and even if it is a phase thats OK, everything in life is a phase of some sort XD I have another video that will help you as a beginner, with links, called ultimate sweet lolita tutorial where you should find most of what you need :3

I've discovered Lolita and other jfashions in 6th grade and i still haven't been able to wear it (I'm turning 19 in January) let's hope this year i can start wearing some
I plan to get my first Lolita soon, just a simple gothic Lolita (black and white type) jsk that has illustrated cartoon black cat prints with black crystals on a white background, and then an all off the shoulder see through long sleeve slight ruffle to show my color bone and shoulders (heehee), then I plan to eat my spider web tights or something similar, black underskirt, maybe a corset or a black ribbon to accentuate my waist a bit and help separate if that makes since, then my goth platform boots. I’m very into gothic Lolita but also super pastel gothic type Lolita however I know my favorite colors I wear almost everyday and will always feel beautiful in is black and white with a touch of pink
It really depends where you buy from and to! I buy from Japan and China mostly to Scotland and if its with white rabbit express it takes id say a maximum of 2 weeks. But from China or Japan without white rabbit it can take up to a month, buying from lacemarket it depends on where the people are!
Hi, I'm just starting lolita. I bought my first coord the other day but I couldn't find shoes in my size. I'm uk size 1 (19cm) but the smallest I could find were size 3. If anyone could recommend somewhere I could buy shoes in my size that would be great.
ooh im not sure! Id check the Chinese re sailers for smaller sizes, they normally measure in cm and I think UK size 1 is 20cm? measure your feet if you can! and check out the Chinese ones :)
Do I need to buy lolita clothing from well-known lolita brands to be able to dress lolita? Or is it okay to wear any dress as long as it follows onto the style?
I've been wanting to dress in the lolita fashion FOREVER, but could never afford it. I guess treating myself to one piece at a time every tax return season can be my treat. ❤️ Such a cute fashion!
I have been thinking about trying this for a while, but some things are holding me back... 1. I can't afford any of this because my family has been struggling financially since before corona and I'm a teenager. 2. I have a (shid) ton of anxiety, specifically when I'm in public. 3. I live in a very small town where everyone knows everything about each other. 4. My legs get cold very easily so I don't want to freeze in any season except summer 5. I don't want to spend so much on something I might not wear often. 6. I don't know how to bring this up to my mom since I never mentioned anything similar to this before. I really want to be part of the lolita community, but with 6 semi-relevant things that would make me reluctant to join, I don't know if I should try it. This video really convinced me that it would be a good idea, but idk.
I've just gotten into lolita fashion, i really love it. Especially sweet lolita, my favourite colour is pink. But i'm not confident to wear it in public, so i'd prefer a bit of accesories a skirt and a shirt maybe. But i don't know where to get these stuff, any shops recommended?
I have a couple questions if you don’t mind answering Is Lolita political? What is the history behind it? Is there anyone who can’t do it? Does Lolita have rules for how you should/can’t act?
is lolita political? no, haha it's just a fashion. If it stands for anything, its rebellion against the status quo! History, it began in Japan in the late 80s as a rebellion against the growing trend of girls being very sexy and showy, it wanted to maintain a girly modesty. A kind of, dressing pretty for me and only me. It is created with inspiration from British victorian fashion, French rococo fashion, and Japanese pop culture. Yes, anyone can do it, its just a fashion :3 And there are no rules on how to act. Like any fashion, there are conditions which make it lolita, for example, the shape, the puffy victorian style of skirt is a must. The modest covering is also a must so, no skirts high above the knee and no chest/ cleavage showing. But that's really all there is to it! many lolitas are "lifestyle lolitas" meaning the fashion is a larger part of there life, they might have kind of, "ladylike" hobbies like sewing, dancing, that sort of thing, but its not essential. Just what some of us are like!
Unless I missed it somewhere along the way in a vid, would you please please do a how to wash/ dry/ care for a lolita dress? What steps do you take please? What should I do as I'm real new to it all. Fanx in advance.
Can I ask how often you wear Lolita? I had thought originally that people wear it in their every day life, but I saw a video recently saying people only wear it for special events? Thank you so much!
It really depends! There are those things wear it nearly every day and we call them lifestyle lolitas, there houses and stuff are also quite *lolita* as well XD then you have casual lolitas who wear it very often but not every day who's houses often seem very lolita too ( like me XD) and then i guess event lolitas (don't know if that's an official title) who only get dressed up for special occasions! So it really depends on the they are. Its like any other fashion really!
i kind of wanna do a coord that's bright and youthful, aaalmost bordering on clowncore but not quite. closer to dreamcore things maybe? i have a necklace with rainbow beads and a smiley face on it, and i think it would be a good start for putting together something bright and fun. i want to mix my regular weird style with lolita things/silhouette and i think it will be cool
is it fine to mix styles together and still call it part lolita? i wanna wear a decora/ lolita mix but is it not lolita anymore if i don't wear headdresses/lolita shoes?
I just bought my first gothic lolita dress off Lolita show! and the accessories ofc, but this is moreover like dipping my toes in to see if I am willing to do a style change (as you said, it's very pricy) are there any other tips for beginners that you'd recommend??

I wanted to start a kind of alt/goth style but my mom said she didn't like it so i talked to her about kawaii/pastel fashion and she said maybe! This is really helpful. Tysm
Sameeee she prefers kawaii/sweet lolita than goth/emo xD
I want to start pastel goth
Me learning sewing so i can make my own lolita dresses be like : 👁👄👁

Sameeee, I’m not bother to pay 200 bucks 😂
Yes
@@kirboithink1559 I mean, the materials aren't cheap
@@gos1029 a lot of times you can thrift old curtains or bedsheets, and that can cut down on the material cost!
Omg do you have Instagram? :O
Ew
I’ve loved looking at Lolita dresses on social media and online for awhile but I’m finally having the courage to wear Lolita fashion for myself and I’m so excited!! I really love sweet and gothic Lolita but I’m leaning toward sweet Lolita so I’ll start with that. Thank you for this video!! It helped a lot :D
If you like sweet and gothic there is a sub style called bittersweet you might like
The only thing stopping me from completing reinventing my wardrobe to Lolita is my wallet ;-;
I just started out, and the channel creator said Bodyline is good for a cheaper alternative!! I found this gorgeous Harlequin pattern skirt for $20!!
Some other good places to get Lolita is Devil Inspired and My-Lolita-Dress they’re shopping services where you can buy popular taobao brands like soufflé song and Alice girl
Yeees!! THIS! 💝
I’m really young but these Lolita dresses are so Beautiful!
It's sadly a no for me😅✌🏻
I am also a goth! but I love sweet lolita XD do you live with your aunt?
Yes I live with my auntie
My aunt got me into lolita
@@sadieann6452 that's cool at least I know I'm not alone anymore😅
Theres still gothic lolita!! Its very much Lolita but just in darker colors like black, blues, and reds!
I think I’m starting by buying some basics that fit in my aesthetic (white shoes, some basic white socks, and just neutral accessories I think I’ll be able to use with most outfits) and I think that is a big help!!
I’m 11 years old and ordered my first lolita dress today! Thank you for this video ^^
I’m only 13 but I really wanna do Lolita but it’s just so expensive and I don’t have that much money
There are second hand places and cheaper places like Bodyline that are good, but generally most of us ether do chores for extra money when we are young, or wait until we have a job!
Ooo same my aunt I going to get me a dress and I’m looking for other things but yeah the prices are crazy
Same, I’m getting some Lolita boots for the holidays and I’m really excited!
Me too I’m 11
This was VERY helpful, I even took notes lol~
Thank you !!!!💜
1: dress is absolutely beautiful 2: the prices are a lot since I’m a teen 😅 3: thanks for the video 😊 💕 👍🏻
Edit: last time I went to my local thrift store was for something else but I saw a section in both the skirts and dresses that looked suitable and I’ll definitely check them out next time I go!
I was always interested in Lolita fashion. Now i am excited to try this out
Thanks a lot for this video, it truly helps me and motivate me to start wearing lolita fashion!
I really love your accent!! I wish I had it, it's beautiful. Also this video was very helpful! Thank you so much!!
YES THANK YOU FOR SAYING THE STUFF ABOUT HOW PEOPLE SEE LOLITAS
I’m finally early for once! I love your videos :)
awh thank you!
Thank you!! I'm brand new to the community, and this helps out alot!!
I would say that it is expensive so it does help to be making your own money for sure, I wouldn't buy from Amazon though, check out Bodyline! they aren't too expensive > www.bodylinetokyo.co.jp/?lang=en
and it might be the case that other people don't like what you wear, or what you like, but there opinions don't matter. Live your life for you :3
Thank you, Unicorn Princess! Stay safe and good luck with your channel. I have just subscribed :D
@@d3fnot_s aww thank you! I wish you luck on your Lolita journey! xox
I'm a beginner lolita and this is helping alot thank you
No problem! Happy to help ☺
I started wearing lolita this january. I'm not that good at coording yet but one day I'll get there.
as a guy i'll love if it will be lolita brands shirts. you look like you are doing great this Quarantine, thanks for the tips
Id love to make like, printed T-shirts, you know like band T-shirts? but with lolita stuff on them XD and Im so glad you think so haha, Im trying hard XD how are you doing?
Unicorn Princess that idea is even better I’ll love to have a melty chocolate shirt I’m doing fine I bit scared my doctor called me and said i can’t go out until like a month of this being over
i'm goth and have always wanted some gothic lolita clothes, i think my giant stompy goth boots will be very fun to wear with a cute dress!!
I started getting into lolita months ago but didn't know how nor where to start. Thank you so much for this video, it gave me a better idea on where to go :)
Btw!!
Although i am quite young i want to get into lolita so badly so thank you for this video :)
I started lolita when I was 9, I'm 15 now and still active on the community :]
Thank you! It is a really good video with a very nice explanation and examples provided. I can tell, not only complete newbie can learn something from it.
Awh really you think so?? Awesome! I'm so glad 🥰💕
@@UnicornPrincess I do... And... I just got my dream dress on Rakuten 😻 thinking if I should just buy it right now... Omg, I am expecting 4 dresses, skirt, blouses and accessories from taobao stuck in China because of covid. I promised my husband I wouldn't buy anything until I received everything already ordered... But it is a dream dress... 😻👗
I mean, I just found it, didn't get.
@@ribbonfox3923 oh really!?? What is it? Awh man... Well my experience (of shopping on rakuten and using white rabbit express as the shipping service) says that your orders get rheough and in a decent time, even during covid so far, iv still gotten everything in good time! Maybe you can say "this is the last one! Its special!" And hope he understands haha
@@UnicornPrincess it is baked sweets parade jsk in yellow. I was checking lace market every day to see if anyone listed it. I was even considering altering the OP because I literally don't fit one inch in any angelic pretty OPs. I am trying to explain him how special it is for me. But he is kinda right, I seem to loose control.
This video is so helpful! I really want to start dressing lolita, but don’t know how to bring it up or ask my parents about it. Any advice?
Yeey! And no problem! Happy to help :3
Watching your videos after years of admiring lolita fashion from afar and trying to overcome the fear of going out as a hairy dude in sweet lolita coords so I can start living the cute poofy lifestyle I want 😂
Omg super pretty coord and hair! I love it! 💖
Awh thank youuu 🥰💖
Hi from Estonia! Thank you for the video, there is a lot of good information here.
Thank you I just was scared to be myself with my core *school* thank you for giving motivation!
fril/rakuma is the secondhand side of rakuten (like ebay/lacemarket with people selling their personal items), rakuten market, the main site, is more of the amazon but they do also have professional secondhand lolita stores (kind of like closetchild and wunderwelt)
hope this helps ♥
lately ive been looking at lolita style and id love to try it out but i dont think it would look good on me ^^' and people would definitely stare and judge so ill probably just admire people like you :D
Omg i saw this video a half year ago and it bought me into the fashion✨
I hope to start wearing gothic lolita soon, im nervous and struggling due to my country not really having this style. I'm going to talk to a seamstress soon to try to get a dress
Thats cool! My country doesn't ether. Everything we get is imported haha
im 14 (15 in october) and i really want to get into sweet lolita fashion >< ill be able to get a job soon and i want to save up for my first lolita dress!
What I suggest if you have bought sweet lolita but realised you like goth lolita is that you can definitely resell the dress and the stuff so that you at least get money back.
Part of why i want to have at least one lolita coord is because im tired of most of my gothic putfits being seen as "sexy". Not to mention classic style is just soooo cute and fits right in with my interests of historical fashion❤❤
love your video, your dresses and your accent
Awh thank you 😊 💓
I’m still quite young but I really really want to try out lolita, I don’t really have any lolita clothing just yet but I recently got a pair of leg warmers which is my first little step! I’m really nervous 😅
Ok so I am quite young and I went on Amazon and I have found Lolita stuff for kids and I nearly cried bc I am so happy
I just saw ths video rather late but I would really like to recommend buying silver and gold lolita shoes! It sounds kinda weird but in most prints there is some kinda silver or gold glitter or it is possible to coord the colours with gold and silver so you don't need a thousand shoes when starting out
Beautiful video! And yoyr coordinate looks fantasic!
Awh thank you so much!! 😘
@@UnicornPrincess Oh ok! Thank you so much!
I dance a lot, so I essentially hace two modes: ott sweet lolita or cheat t-shirts and leggings. XD
@@UnicornPrincess Thank you for the fast reply! It is good to hear that I don´t need to think about too much. The video can be helpful so I will definetely watch it later. I guess I will just try it out sometime! Thanks again ^^
I love your hair in this! Could you do a tutorial of your curls and other lolita hairstyles? 😊
Thank you!! I’m new to this and I was just wondering how long does shipping for items usually take!
It really depends where you buy from and to! I buy from Japan and China mostly to Scotland and if its with white rabbit express it takes id say a maximum of 2 weeks. But from China or Japan without white rabbit it can take up to a month, buying from lacemarket it depends on where the people are!
Oh and also keep in mind some iteams might be a preorder! Which means they will take longer.
I love the style! I just live somewhere where you can’t 😭
i love your voice!! thank for the help, and ignore that im 2 years late lol
Nice song choice in the intro :)
If you are willing to put a little more money into youe shoes, cotton candy feet does any size, and great quality from what I heard!
@@flamebloom4659 oh yes! Cotton candy feet are great! I have some of there shoes!
Sorry! I answered a question wrong, the name of the song at the beginning is Run by Joji!
Thank you, this video is really useful 😁
4. My legs get cold very easily so I don't want to freeze in any season except summer
I see what you are wearing, I see your Sailor Moon blanket and Luna-P in the background and I'm like oh my gosh... my tribe.
I have a couple questions if you don’t mind answering
Is Lolita political?
What is the history behind it?
Is there anyone who can’t do it?
Does Lolita have rules for how you should/can’t act?
is lolita political? no, haha it's just a fashion. If it stands for anything, its rebellion against the status quo! History, it began in Japan in the late 80s as a rebellion against the growing trend of girls being very sexy and showy, it wanted to maintain a girly modesty. A kind of, dressing pretty for me and only me. It is created with inspiration from British victorian fashion, French rococo fashion, and Japanese pop culture.
Yes, anyone can do it, its just a fashion :3
And there are no rules on how to act.
Unicorn Princess thank you very much!! ❤️
@@민재-s2h no problem :3
Unless I missed it somewhere along the way in a vid, would you please please do a how to wash/ dry/ care for a lolita dress? What steps do you take please? What should I do as I'm real new to it all. Fanx in advance.
ScarfingScarves did a detailed video on this.
@@sonyafirefly3879 Cool, I'll have a look for that tonight. Thank you.
Unicorn Princess thank you so much!
i kind of wanna do a coord that's bright and youthful, aaalmost bordering on clowncore but not quite. closer to dreamcore things maybe? i have a necklace with rainbow beads and a smiley face on it, and i think it would be a good start for putting together something bright and fun. i want to mix my regular weird style with lolita things/silhouette and i think it will be cool
is it fine to mix styles together and still call it part lolita? i wanna wear a decora/ lolita mix but is it not lolita anymore if i don't wear headdresses/lolita shoes?
I really want to try doing bittersweet that under near gothic or sweet which I hear from. Thank for this video!
