Invest in a chain hoist and straps to lift that mower and use those blocks as safety under deck incase the hoist slips. Lifting that mower will get your back eventually. Save your self some pain..work smarter not harder..😎 Good job watch out for roots and stumps..

Once we get our garage workshop set up i will have a lift in there and a chain fall . We just moved to Tennessee and staying with my wifes father until our home and workshop is done. So this was the quickest way for right now. I am all about smarter not harder its what i preach lol . Keep watching to see the garage build it should be awesome 30x40. And believe me my target is that root stump with a chainsaw i thought that i got all the stumps a couple weeks prior i went around my mowing area and cut mostly everything lol. Thanks for watching and the suggestion !

That is one heck of a pit crew! RICKY BOBBY SHAKE AND BAKE! Nicole did a freaking awesome job! Sucks about the blade but glad you were able to get it replaced and you are welcome for all the rain. 😂

If you have a trailer with ramp drive up on the side and use impact and use the other side to reach the farther blade as the front is solid

That's a great idea . 💡 this year I decided to use that tractor and straps to lift the front so I can get off the blades and sharpen them . Thanks for the comment

Car ramp on the discharge side is easier.

Hi John! I’m a city kid (13 years old) who is trying to start a neighborhood business. I currently have a 143cc craftsman that is not self propelled. I saved up and have a budget of $1500. What mower do you recommend?

That is great you are doing this as i did the exact same thing at 13. Ok the the 1st question do you want a riding mower? 2 do you intend to drive it from your home to each of the houses you will cut ? i assume at 13 you dont drive a car? Also how will you get customers? i have some ideas.. and are you set on a new mower or can you get used? and lastly are you good with your hands as in technically minded?

      1. Yes, however a lot of them (new) are pricy.
      2. Exactly what I was thinking, I have a stihl handheld blower and a stihl weed whacker that I would need to transport. (extra gas too)
      3. Can’t drive.
      4. Door hangers? Flyers? Website?
      5. I’d like to have a new machine because they ship to your house.
      6. I love building/taking apart things and I am good at problem solving, so yes.

Great answers ok so think about this because its exactly what i had to do .
you want to spend the least amount on the mower as possible i wouldn't buy new due to the price. i went on craigslist or in my time the paper and look at classifieds i got a real piece lol for 350 its wasnt great but i had to paint it and sharpen blades. this point you need an adult to be with you so you dont get your money taken. Check basics oil and correct level and color not burned smell it. also not milky that means there is water in it. and look under at the blades . if it is real banged up then dont get it if they dont take care enough on the outside then they wont be doing maint. on the engine as required. So this process can take time but will save you a lot .
but the caveat to this is if you cant find anything 500 or less then buy new . So if you go new dont buy a zero turn they cost the most and not the best for street driving. spend the least . But after you narrow it down to 2 or 3 then you can pick each one apart to find which one would be the best fit. you can also get a pull behind cart for a riding mower to put the push mower and blower and weedwacker. most likely you can get that cart used also . Think saftey put lights on the thing like orange side marker lights and some reflectors.
I used flyers in my time and i would still do that as it adds a personal touch when the home owners read it. also you can go on the facebook neighborhood app thing . or just go door to door and ask put your face in front of theirs its harder to say no when you are looking at them. price reasonable you are not a major business so dont charge as such but be fair to yourself your time is not free YOU can never get TIME back remember that. learn how to run this business and grow. If you find a couple you are thinking of i would be more than happy to look at them online for you. The best resource is google and youtube and search problems or issues with whatever brand and model you are looking at. Also its hard to recommend a certain model due to availability everywhere.

also 1 more thing dont be shy to haggle on price ask if they will take a lower price used and new ! if used just offer a lower price but again be fair and hold your ground and remember if you dont get the 1st one you want to be discouraged that means a better unit is on the horizon for you . I try to not get my hopes up and logically go into the buying process so you dont let emotion buy it let you eyes ears and brain buy it then if you dont get it you are not disappointed and can move on and not dwell on that.

Cub cadets blades are so horrible. I wish I can find a different brand to use
