- In this video we take a pair of tired early 90's Rock Shox MAG 21 SL titanium mountain bike forks, Strip, Repair, Sand, Re-Finish, Service & Put it all back together again.
We show the process involved for servicing maintenance and how to transform them back to top condition.
They have become very tired & dirty over the years, So now it is time to breath new life back in to them. The forks are very stiff and can barely be compressed.
We will be replacing the original damaged decals and re-painting the lower legs.
This particular set are being used on an early 90's GT Zaskar bicycle.
Keep posted for how we carry out all of the refurbs on the bike components.

OIL / AIR SPECIFICATIONS (depending on rider weight):
5-8wt Fork oil
30-45 mm fill line to top of stanchions when compressed.
38-50psi Air pressure

Funnily enough - I was thinking the other day; you don't see ANY forks with boots these days? I wonder if there is a way to add boots to forks without making them look dorky?

Yeah, it’s probably more to do with looks than anything. If the forks have them when I get them, I usually keep them fitted.
the stantions are in good shape becuase the past owner had them on. (and kept them clean)

i will be honest, some cuts jumped over some important bits for example 3:10 i would have liked to see how this is done.
that being said i really like the format, if you want to do a more in depth version then i would say keep this edit at the beginning then after do a longer format or second video. and if possible please try to let us know part numbers and how the fork work or background of the fork, if possible.
