Cute! Tip: let the blow out do your straightening. That's where you want to focus. The flat iron will help with styling and "setting" the straightness. Good job! Nice and full ☺️
Just invest in a good straightener and blow dryer…smaller sections and apply the oil/heat protector before you straighten. Apply a small amount on your hands rub it all into your hair then start with the heat. You’ll get much better results and less damage
Your hair is healthy and I love the cut but I gotta be honest..maybe using a thermal heat protectant before u blow dry while the hair is damp so it will evenly distributed thru the hair…a dime size amount is all u need instead of putting it on your hair section by section will weigh the hair down 💙💙
Please don't use all that oil...it will make the hair really heavy. All u need is a small amount and blow dry your hair first it will be easier to straighten.
Hey I put a leave in and oil generously in my hair before blow drying and my mom went to flat iron and it felt weird I was trying to prevent heat damage. what should I put on my hair before blow drying and flat ironing ? Should I just be doing a leave in and heat protectant before blow drying and then when I go to flat iron should I add more heat protectant spray ?
@@likelashae4932 hey I would put hear protectant after washing and them blow dry and flat iron. My initial mistake was putting the heat protectant before blow drying but then AGAIN after blowdrying. I think doing it right before blowdrying is enough. Also if the oil you are using isn’t heat protectant I would not use it. Also leave-in usually has water in it so I would not put any in if you plan on straightening your hair
This is how you get flowy hair that doesn’t frizz … after you wash put in your products while the hair is wet…. you spray on your products in the following order: leave in spray heat protectant serum….. then you blow dry it while the product is on your hair and wet. Also blow dry until the hair is really straight and not just dry. A good tension brush/comb is best. I use a double comb attachment on my Conair. Then you straighten it in smaller sections. You don’t need to add product right before straightening. Usually makes it look greasy. Then you can spray a bit of shine if you prefer. This also makes sure my hair doesn’t frizz after straightening. Always works!!!
So, should you keep blowing drying beyond your hair being dry to see straighter flowy blow dry results? My hair is always dry and poofy after blow drying.
Her hair cut looks good and her hair looks healthy and full. But I have to be honest that it turned out a little stiff. Like more stiff than if she got it done than the hair salon.
to be completely honest the only reason your hair probably was stiff is because you put that serum on the hair and too much can make the hair stiff another tip i using a clarifying shampoo so it can remove oils in your hair because that also weighs the hair down as well
Nah. It’s not that. 4C hair is my my type. It’s coils are hard to tame. Styles like this would NOT last long. Any humidity hits that hair and it’s gonna look like it was never straightened. My hair gets wet but it doesn’t get weighed down. I love growing my hair but the only styles that seem to work are braided protective styles. 😢
@@devonmorgan4763 I understand my hair sweats out as well but I’m telling you if you use a clarifying shampoo it will help I use to be natural and rarely put heat on my hair but my hair would still straighten and become flat using a clarifying shampoo , chi silk serum and a good blow out crème . Any natural hair products that has a lot of oils beware of . Thermal products should be used for Silk presses . Design essentials is a good brand as well
@mirella1120 I would have to see a picture but I strongly suggest using a clarifying shampoo if you are concerned about your hair drying out from that shampoo . Shampoo your hair once with a moisturizing shampoo and two more times with a clarifying shampoo . This will ensure that your hair is fully clean . And also use a conditioner. Invest in a blow out crème and silken serum (a little goes a long way) and make sure you use the right temperature 350 or 400 depending on how your hair straighten .and trim your ends as well your ends may need a fresh chop . And don’t be scared to trim them ends because it also helps your hair to keep growing fuller and stronger
Putting excessive oil on your hair will not make it good it will make it frizz up more if anything don’t use nothing but heat protection and try to not use the oil kind of one it’s not good on 4c hair
Love the cut! A few tips to make it look more silk/less poofy and stiff and give it more gloss: Smaller flat iron (1/2 inch to 1 inch thick) to get closer to those roots Double cleanse the hair/clarify and use only a small amount of silicone based serum Take smaller sections Avoid weighing down the hair with oils/creams that will make it look stiff
It's gorgeous!!!❤ It saves you a fortune too. If you wanted to wear it like this for an extended period of time there's a lot of deep conditioners and really good hair serums that can help change the texture of your hair temporarily making it easier to wear this style for long periods and protect it from heat damage. They work really well if you're planning to wear it for a while.

Try using a comb with the straightener during the pass-through. Itll give you much straighter results while also requiring fewer pass throughs.(something i learned while working at a beauty college that changed the game for me lol)
@leslieannking oh my God! Just realized how long ago this video was uploaded! I'm so sorry. It must have been weird that I commented on this. It was recommended to me, and i didn't even check the dates :)
Smaller sections, blow your hair out more than that 400degrees one pass with smaller sections will do it and of course a light heat protectant no oil it’ll fry your hair and a shine serum when your done (pea sized amount)
This is a pretty first try. I’d recommend watching other videos of professional stylist who do it so you can see how small the sections are/ what products you should and shouldn’t use. Maybe instead of adding heat protectant serum to each section, just add it at the beginning before you blow dry and then a bit before you flat iron so that way your hair stays light. But the volume on the press is so cute
You just definitely try a cleansing shampoo then a deep conditioner w/ a cap. Also use a quarter size about of serum for your entire head. Maybe a little more.
In my personal opinion, you may want to take a pressing comb first and do a silk press and then go back in with your flatiron. That way you’ll create that silky flowy look. With 4c hair you need to add a little more heat than just a flatiron to really get the hair straightened ❤
Way too much product in your hair! It’s greasy and oily looking and not straight at all. No shade. You also need to use a smaller toothed comb as well. Something way smaller than a shower comb. I invested in a Baby bliss flatiron. I only pass once or sometimes twice. Good luck!
Go Slow, it will smooth the hair out better last longer and prevent you from doing multiple passes. It is better to pass one and really SLOW verses a lot of time going quick. I'm a professionally cosmetologist, trust me😉
You are going to have to improve your blow dry technique. Then you can use less flat iron passes, do smaller sections and you will get a smoother finish. You can also try doing the comb chase method. You have a beautiful head of hair!🥰🤗
