To save the new setting you must hold the set button for 3 seconds before shutting the ESC off. Had to throw that out there for anyone wondering.

Thanks for this! Just had my first run with my Kraton 8 today. Liking it a lot - stable and planted running in (dry!) Northumbrian fields and dirt. I'm confident this will be the best large scale offload basher to date. Head to head with my old 6s X-Maxx. This vid really helped clarify the instructions - I hate scrolling though, counting beeps and lights! Surely a bluetooth setup is the way forward to a phone app?
Glad to see full Spectrum lineup on electronics. Sounds like I'm going to have to purchase the electronics for this kraton 8s to put into my Infraction. I've had a blown stock servo and then after purchasing a new one and replacing a glitching esc just stuck in a programming loop after another 2 packs ran through. I've had more down time than up time. I had reverse shut off and during a run it reprogrammed itself Turning reverse back on.. breaking diffuser supports because it wanted to shoot full throttle backwards when I stopped the vehicle. And then after I shut the car down it was stuck in programming mode. Arrma will replace replace a crap electronic when it goes out, but any other parts that are damaged while those crucial parts go out is YOUR FAULT.. I hate the Infractions electronics. Not that there isn't any power there was plenty, just that they seem to be unreliable.
So note to self don't drive your car anywhere fun because if esc or steering servo goes bad and haywire your left to foot the bill for the rest of the damage, they call it an act of God.. I get parts get broke while playing, but if a crucial part goes out during use and causes more damage something else should be covered. Car has had 15 days if up time and close to 45 days down time now. Got it November 14th, and it's been down since thanksgiving.

Your video was terrific - 100% useful and on point. I just bought and installed a Spektrum SPMXSE1160 Firma 160 Amp Brushless Smart ESC in my Arrma Limitless and right out of the shrink wrap the brakes were nearly nonexistent. I brought the car into the house, found this video and promptly discovered the brake setting was far below factory default. I set it to my liking and now have brakes that work; very useful on an Arrma Limitless - no?

Yea. I found it odd. That tje brakes weren't even on the factory settings. (50%) mines was on 25% insane considering how fast these go...
To save the setting you need to press the setting button for 3 seconds 🤐
For the Spektrum 160 amp ESC, is there a drag brake function such as the option on the Spektrum 150 amp ESC? I ask because I just purchased a Leopard 2400kv motor to pair it with and it seems as if the drag brake is engaged and I cannot find the option to disengage the function. Any help would be appreciated

Is the bec voltage options really only two? Only stock or way up at 8.4? If i get the programming box is there more options for bec output? It would be nice to run 7.4v the program manual only shows stock way low or way high 8.4

Hello there when I did update to my kraton 8s ESC firmware To B4.12 by default all set up has change and wondering if it’s ok or no BEC 8.4V by default and It was by default 6.0V it safe ? Now !

I saw the 100 mph infraction you did and bought the spectrum 8s set either the 160a esc. I did the bind and restarted, my steering servo work perfect bought no response from the motor, any ideas? I’ve tried everything I know to do, helpppppp

Hey man! I just purchased a new Arrma 8s outcast and got it out of the box ….all looked good and installed two 4s batteries like I use on my 8s Kraton.
I run it down the road and it had power but half way down the road I noticed it was running half speed……almost like I switched it over to 50% power. Then it quit running and noticed the red light was flashing.
So I disconnected the batteries and set back up again and same thing! Can you help me with this truck?…………

When i reverse my arrma vorteks with asc on, it turns left on its own. Sometimes it even accellerate fast out of control without me doing anithing. When i turn the asc off it works normal. Is there something wrong with the asc?
What's the difference between clock wise and counter clock wise with the motor? Forward is back and back is forward?
Wow a program card would be much much safer. I can see a lot of people messing up settings using these flashing lights and button settings XD
The ESC looks like a rebranded Hobbywing MAX6. maybe the hobbywing program card will work. I wonder what the price of the Spectrum ESC is compare to the hobbywing MAX6.
I'm not hating. Just the whole buying electronics from OEM and putting your brand and mark up the prices i don't like.

Veygr I’ve been asking this forever I have the program cards and the wi fi express. But it seems nobody has an answer. Or maybe Arrma uses their own firmware

yes a Hobbywing Program Card will work...there are 2 different Outside HWA and newer HW30501003
both will work... i have the newer one...makes Life much easier ;-) but go for sure and check twice if the Settings would accepted..
3:55 - 4:00 ... NoooooOOO! You don't simply turn it off to save the settings. You MUST re-hold that set button down for 3 seconds then release it to save the settings, THEN you can turn it off.
Pretty big oversight for someone who works for the company. They should update the video, otherwise it's a fail.

The max5 is 200A and people will probably go that route if they're doing pretty upgrades

the 150a firma esc has no lipo cut off options at all, lipos are drained down to 3v- not good.

I installed the bluetooth module on the dx2e and now I CANNOT CONTROL AVC with the controller. Is there anyway to gain control of it again?! This is ridiculous.
*Edit* I TOOK out the bluetooth module in hopes it'll fix it but it's still completely screwed and set to 100%. I can't use the app to change the drive mode to disable it because they just refuse to show up no matter what I do.
Hi I have this motor and esc in my v4 kraton 6s I hit 61mph today on 6s and the esc kept on cutting out on me no throttle response then would kick back in any idea why?
50c batteries tried 2 packs and both did the same thing
Are the motor wire connected to the esc ABC in order? I had same problem but my motor wires weren’t in place with the right connection on the esc I put A with A and B with B and C with C and it worked

The rebranded Max6 in my Super Rock Rey is the same way. 6v or 8.4v. No 7.4.

Yes, but it's always recommended to monitor the temperatures of the ESC and motor while driving with the bigger gear.
Mine runs nice and cold with stock esc settings and 23t pinion. 20mill center and stock f/r diffs.
Its really fast and handling is insane 😁👍
Hans Christian Deila i didn’t change the center diff fluid but I heard it makes the kraton wheelie easy with 20M
@@cchhiillaannggoo at punch 5 it wheelies, but i find it more controllable and it handles better at punch 3 😊 i can be much much harder on the throttle when turning 😊
The 20 mill center diff fluid made a big difference, it wheelies, but it also handles better and dont balloon the front wheels as much 😊

It's a spektrum rebadge with telemetry of the hobbywing max6 and 4985 motor without fins (making it 4685).

@@paulcherry1520 yeah, imo for bashing the telemetry is pointless, especially because it's kinda gimped telemetry. All I really want on a basher is true motor temp and this can't give it anyway. Might be worth it to toss in the xmaxx if you grab one on Jenny's rc or something like that for a good price but I believe the standard max 6 combo is still cheaper? And to use the telemetry too you have to use the stock radio, which is an ok radio but if you have a radio upgrade already then the firma is just a max 6 combo with a cap pack on the battery lead. Well and different kv.
Where are the error codes in the title, my esc light is flashing red truck is not moving and have no idea why!

@@dougk4071 I ended up calling horizon hobby and they sent me a new receiver and new esc. I only had truck for running 15 mins. Brand new truck and batteries. I simply turned truck off and it never got running again until they sent me new stuff. On top of that the low voltage cut off never worked so constantly running batteries to low. I’m not happy with this truck. Also having issue with steering, where it was turning like a Mack truck. Took to shop and thought it was servo, but truck was missing 4 bearings in the front. Luckily we checked the exploded view online of the car and noticed bearings should’ve been installed but wasn’t. Arrma and Horizon has to work on there quality control or they will be like Blackberry phones

You should go through training again because you miss lead people on how to save when you go into you ESC settings that was a bigg mistake so I don't know why they kept this vision out for a year .

Super weak servo tell me about it lol I just purchased a 50$ servo and is 10x better than the stock one and it’s actually a 1/5 servo just like the truck is check out a video I posted you can check it out
I think it’s a lil over 1,000oz of torque if I’m not mistaken in the specs

Sorry to hear you're disappointed, although the name KRATON may be shared between a couple of other models, rest assured the KRATON 8S is a totally new vehicle sharing no parts with any other ARRMA vehicle. We hope you get to give one a drive some time and truly experience what makes the 1/5 KRATON 8S the king of all KRATONs.

Don’t get me wrong other then the servo problem going out so fast the truck is a beast….well mines is I swapped out the esc and threw in a XLX2 and put 27t pinion
Just avoid the spektrum crap, worst esc i have ever had. Buy an arrma exb roller and put some decent electrics in instead
So, do u have any idea why my Arrma 6s Kraton exb esc is blinking a dim green light & nothing happens when I'm pushing the set button ?

I did try holding down the set bottom while powering on & got nothing & no light ,beeps from ESC ?
