Sadly with Babington gone and Marshall being constantly replaced by Nic France its hard to consider any link to any version of Soft Machine. At least they still sound cool.
The originals were in their twenties, the band in this video are in the fifties and seventies. I reckon if all the original members were still playing even they wouldn't have the same energy as when in their twenties! But the musicality of the present band is fab.
I'm sorry but original early soft machine material like this does not work with an electric guitarist like John Etheridge. His harsh tone and notes per minute approach make it close to unlistenable for me.
Absolut SUPER. Die LP "Third" hat bei mir noch immer einen Ehrenplatz!
I just love what this legendary musicians still doin' and keeping faith on it, to me came inspiration
some original members bringing back an historical musical piece after 52 years
No original members here.
Keep the music down a bit lads, there’s people trying to have a conversation here.

They came from a whole different world - different times and all that

Not as good as the really early stuff but better than the Karl Jenkins period.
I can play that with more vigor and I can’t play bass
Vous tentez de faire revivre le soft, mais…..je ne suis pas convaincu. Tchuss, pierro, un ami de Hugh….
