I’m guessing you bought the glow in the dark green vinyl. So the reason the vinyl doesn’t sound good is because they have to use phosphorus to make it glow. When you buy a regular black or colored vinyl they just use polyvinyl chloride. But when you mix polyvinyl chloride and phosphorus the mixture doesn’t press the same way because sometimes the phosphorus doesn’t mix well enough or the majority of the time the phosphorus doesn’t sound the same because it messes with the sound grooves and when that happens you get skips etccc... a lot of people do not recommend buying glow in the dark records cause there is a zero to none chance the record will sound good. That sounds like what I had to do with my Crosley so do you have a Crosley player? If so, they're absolute GARBAGE. I mean that in a nice way because people are tricked into buying them because they're cute & there's so many different ones but the needles destroy records, they skip records that are perfectly fine, they ruin records so when you do get a better player they're unplayable. REMOVE THE PENNY: This will cause deeper scratching in the grooves which may be irreversible, or able to be cleaned. Get a better player (If you have a crosley): May seem pricey, but you just spent nearly $100 on this set, why would you want to continue using a bad player for them? Save up & upgrade, you won't regret it! Clean the vinyl: Use a vinyl cleaning kit, they're on Amazon if you don't have them, to clean the record of any scratches it may have or now does have from the penny. Hope this helps, let me know! x
Can anyone speak to the quality of the 7 inches as far as sound is concerned? I own the apricot and glow in the dark and they both leave a lot to be desired sound wise. I might just splurge on this and sell/trade my other two copies.
