I wished you were closer to me. I am working on my dad's old squarebody that became mine when he passed away. I am trying to rescue it. He quit driving it in about 07. It is not very rusted as it is a Tennessee truck its whole life. It is a 74 factory 350 but it has a 305 in it now that dropped a valve. I regret not taking time to fix it for him when he was alive. He loved that old truck!
thank you guys for saveing these old truck it mean a lot to me thanks again. oya there is a junk yard in Andalusia alabama called pught and sons junk there are tones of old trucks in there thought people are hate full please if you gys git the message go to that junk yard and save thought old trucks it means a lot to me
I have one as well '73 K20 shortbed lifted rolling on 40 inch Swampers. Rock solid, just need to rewire the entire thing cause the previous owner did a horrid hackjob. Had to replace the steering colunm too because he felt like it was a good idea to try to start it with a screwdriver when he left his keys somewhere. Just ended up destroying it. I'm sure i'll encounter a few more minor things. The fluid on the bottom of the tranny pan you saw on this one is common. They all do that if they sit for awhile. Great thing about these trucks, is if you can't find an original part, go to LMC or even RockAuto, parts are cheap. Very easy to work on as well. Nice score!!
I love the truck rescue ranch and you and jammie and your doggie is so cute i love her and the horse is beautiful if i lived in your state I would love to try and help you out
Good video Rick thanks for taking time to show us your videos you do Good work don’t see too many people saying thanks but I appreciate you do good work be safe my friend say hi to Annabella and Jamie
I want you to know that i love all your videos it looks like you have a great time what you do I really appreciate what you do I hope you keep doing what you do
I just picked up an 87 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 a few months ago and just picked up a 78 cab for some repair panels , and picked up a 1985 chevy c10 a few years ago that is pretty cherry , all of them are oregon coast trucks .
Here's another Rick, Jamie and Annabbella's great adventure.... Love that Snoop-Dog Annabbella Truck Inspector General On another case !!!. James Tayler You've got a friend, excellent song when your hangin out with your main Squeeze. Nice leaf color change out there in the big O.. I was thinking let Anna get started in the cab and then you put her in there. Rick.you must have heard me telepathically. I always liked the expressions throw a set of valve covers on the engine, Another on drop a motor in it etc. 29:19 I think Anna didn't jump into the truck because she didn't know the condition of the floor board, LOL. See you three on the next exciting adventure. Nice Chevy Muscle car your neighbor has, thank him for the Demo.. Peace out.
To me living in Pa./Ohio $1500 is a steal! I could sell that for double price all day long. I never heard of a Super Camper Special. Learn something new on your channel all the time. God bless.
Great job saving another square body truck. Love your videos. I recently acquired a 1984 Chevy c10 all stock with the 6.2 diesel. Has over 200k on it but runs great.bless you guys.
Damn thats a rock solid hd truck 😍 .. straight n clean Camper's too .. theres nothing even close to this down here Quebec, starts at 2500$(can) and they are just wet wacky rust garbage :( .. .. .. thanks for the video, gives me good hope for been able to find one :) .. .. .. thank you .. .. Mathieu and Sophie .. Verdun, Québec, Canada
I'd forgotten how lovely Oregon is. Brought back memories of the 80s when I was over there with work. Fantastic driving by the way. I would have chickened out on loading that without the help of a winch :)
awesome video rick Oregon sure is a beautiful place you are so lucky where you live on your ranch great video loved it peace out bro god bless you and Jamie and Annabella ,and Jet
Beautiful trees on your drive. I am traditionally a Ford man but these square body Chevy's are nice. I must admit, the Chevy truck had it all over Fords style wise in the 50s and I really enjoy looking at all you have acquired with all the different style changes. Thanks for your work. Peace out.
What a lovely, straight old square body. Considering the reputation they have for rust that one has certainly weathered the last 40 years very well indeed. If it wasn't for the unmatched paint repairs it would look really good with a wash and polish and it's just as good inside. It doesn't look like Randy is going to be running out of horses for a while there lol... It's amazing how quickly things start growing back after even a very big burn like that. Nature is amazing...
Some very pretty country with all the water falls, trees, and water systems. That fire must have been huge as you appeared to be covering lots of territory.
I was out in glide oregon for vacation recently and it's beautiful there almost didn't want to go back to iowa. Wish I could have come met u 2 but idk where you guys live from oregon lol maybe next time
That's a nice truck for the money I think. Also, considering it's age is in great shape too. Yup, a tail heavy trailer can be dangerous, they tend to wip around or some call is swaying. I'm glad to see you got one of the tractors running especially with winter right around the corner. Jamie makes a great side kick for you. She is very articulate and, with her knowledge of trucks, and her friendly mannerism, she can keep the seller busy while you take your time to look around at all the fine details prior to purchase. Not to mention sharing the driving... I never tire of seeing Anna-Bella either... Thanks for the Video Rick.. Always a pleasure to hang out with ya.
Nice truck! I have 2 77's myself. Both have rust issues. My dad's is a Scottsdale that need a whole front clip due to rust. So yes, that's a good find!
Buy the "super camper special". I had one for 28 years. The rear axle, springs are all for the dual wheel set up. If you tub the inner fenders 3 inches the "Budd " dual wheels fit under the outside sheet metal. In the front, the calipers , spindles are the same on the dual piston caliper 250 & 350. Just change the hub-roter to the dual-Bud type from the same vintage F-350 or E-350. It makes for a good looking dual wheel pick-up. I at some point I got a set of rear flares from a Bronco, looked better and didn't make rooster tales in the rain. If you want to see it, go to you tube "48 Ford amateur build". It has a new then Cheveron wrecker back that worked hard until the new laws made it illegal. The chassis I used for that project is another "super camper special" with the 140" wheel base. The F-350 cab & chassis only came in 137" or 160" made for the 9' or 12' bodies. The rear axle is the Dana 70 narrow dual-wheel rear. Too much info from an old Ford service manager. Paul
she's a beaut..the fire area reminded me of the "Tillamook burn" area took yrs for things to start growing back... miss the beauty of Ore. I grew up in Dayton ..parents had a 190 head jersey dairy.
Another great video, Rick ! Awolt ( I hope I spelled his name right ) is getting a sweet deal there - The `77 is in surprising shape. I did notice a puff of smoke when you started it up to get it off the trailer, though. I just KNOW you were referring to me when you looked at those Fords , weren`t you ? You know I have a sweet spot for Fords. ( I can`t afford any more right now, though - Gotta get what`s left of all my teeth replaced ( ouch ). On a side note - I finally got 99% of the issues fixed on my `97 F150 ( it recently munched a valve guide seal and puffs a wee bit of oil every now & again ). Gonna have to wait until the above ( teeth ) issue is resolved. All the best from Iowa !
Move your frnt. crank-jack to in frnt of your storage box so you can move the weight forward. You mentioned how it wanted to sway. Been there, it's no fun! Paul
Nice 1977 with a little love a good tune up and a brake job . it will run like a bear. over the years i had many trucks with the q jet 4 bbl carbs. it really needs a rebuild job. under the throtle will be the end of the leak.

Hello Rick I'm new to the channel but very impressed with the trucks and how you've got that gumpsion of fixing those jewlz to do what they were made for thanks bro
350 ci. 4 bbl., .373 rear end, 101,000 miles on her, twin tanks, baby blue and white, all aluminum trim, heavy duty trans cooler, all gauges, tilt wheel, cruise control, totally loaded, wagon wheels with beauty rings, was a sight to see. Wish I had a place to store it after the wreck, I am a bodyman without a storage yard. Bought in florida, paid 5 K for her, Lord how I miss her. power steering, power brakes, automatic tranny. Truck was like new.
Most people agree that 1973-1987 are square bodies. The body style of GM trucks changed completely in 1988 and were very different from the 73-87 trucks.
Hey Rick! Loved the video! Beautiful country out there! I have almost the Identical truck here in Michigan, but it probably weighs about 200 pounds less with all of the rust. Overall, it looks just like mine though. Mine runs like a champ! I'm a Ford guy at heart and this is my first GMC, but it never treats me wrong. Keep the videos coming! Good to see that you're doing better!
Well....you'll have to take it from Ewald.....(Pronounced A-walled)...because it belongs to him and I'm pretty sure he intends to keep it. If you want a 77....I can get you one whenever you're ready. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
I was just razzing ya. I have more trucks than I should already. I would love swing down and meet you guys in person sometime, but I never seem to have the extra time when I'm out that way. I'm a big fan of the 55-59 gmc's.
I have a 1 ton 77 chevy quite similar to this one. I had it repainted...but a short burned down the dash cluster just like that Ford super camper. I live in France but will be back in the US for the winter...would you happen to have a complete cluster for sale ? cool video 👍

I have one as well '73 K20 shortbed lifted rolling on 40 inch Swampers. Rock solid, just need to rewire the entire thing cause the previous owner did a horrid hackjob. Welcome.
Nice 77
Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Paul
Done. Thank you.
Nice 1977 with a little love a good tune up and a brake job . it will run like a bear.
over the years i had many trucks with the q jet 4 bbl carbs. it really needs a rebuild job.
under the throtle will be the end of the leak.
rick this crazy computer cut off half of what i was trying to say there 2 rivets
under the trottle plate that will leak all of the fuel out of the float bowl
seal the with JB weld
I think you are right about the carb. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
i need this today had a bad day at work
Glad we could help my friend. Hope your night is better than your day. -Rick
I wish he would put more videos on because I love them
and thank you for your reply peace out ctr
It's a great fixer upper and we know u Will do it Right
Ditto that Jim
You know your singing is bad when you get side eye from the dog LOL
Right?
When towing car trailers I know from experience that the best way to prevent trailer wagging is to load the car on the trailer as far forward as possible and get the back of the tow motor begging? Now I know that they say excessive weight on the hitch is very bad and a definate NO-NO when loading trailers but it's down to the pendulum principle and using the trailer wheels as the pivot the more weight you have behind the more it wants to swing and certain vehicles like estate cars and camper are back heavy and you need to load them further forward than usual, I used to tow a 4 wheel car trailer with a Volvo 244 and for me the best way to cure trailer instability was move the weight forward it worked for me and I had my fair share of trailer incidents i can tell you
Need to be careful with that negative tongue weight. A winch in that tool box would make loading brakeless (or powerless) trucks much safer & easier. Nice truck & glad you made it home safe.
I pulled the post and the box off the front of the trailer so we can load further forward now. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
The old Camper Special has possibilities
I heard that...
Hello Rick I'm new to the channel but very impressed with the trucks and how you've got that gumpsion of fixing those jewlz to do what they were made for thanks bro
Glad to have you on board Brian. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
I bought my first truck in Detroit
I was just watching a roadkill video I saw this drop everything and watch this
That's a pretty huge compliment. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
RileyAllain Blair Gotta watch classic truck rescue
I had a beautiful C-10 Big -10 a few years ago. Caught some black Ice and got totaled out.
Still have some extra parts for her.
Dang rick you got some awesome Neighbors! Wicked!! 73 Nova?
love your videos im on the east coast everything is rotted :( im gonna redo my dads 1986 chevy c10 half ton step side over the winter
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
73-91 Chevy Square Body Trucks
Most people agree that 1973-1987 are square bodies. The body style of GM trucks changed completely in 1988 and were very different from the 73-87 trucks.
Curious that it looks like no provisions were made on that camper to show tail and brake lights. Were there missing lights on camper itself?
Could use valve seals Rick she puffed when you started it that's common for that age ,Good shape
O ya the lights too
Hey Rick! Loved the video! Beautiful country out there! I have almost the Identical truck here in Michigan, but it probably weighs about 200 pounds less with all of the rust. i'll take it. I don't have 77 yet
Well....you'll have to take it from Ewald.....(Pronounced A-walled)...because it belongs to him and I'm pretty sure he intends to keep it. If you want a 77....I can get you one whenever you're ready. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick

3:06 Are we there yet?
Nice old Chevy truck for sure power wash it bleed the breaks flow master on it good tune up good to go
I hate to have to bee the one that tells you this but both that lake and dam are a little outside of detroit
I guess I should've ignored the sign that said "Detroit Dam"? Its all good. Thanks Alex.
Classic Truck Rescue the person who put up the sign missed by a mile or two but it can be completely over looked when you see its beauty
I have a 1 ton 77 chevy quite similar to this one. I had it repainted...but a short burned down the dash cluster just like that Ford super camper.
I live in France but will be back in the US for the winter...would you happen to have a complete cluster for sale ?
cool video 👍
nice vid rick ( sory if i spelled your name wrong)
is there a video about the truck that is named the Hunchback?
Not yet. Probably won't be for awhile either. The Hunchback isn't real high on my priority list. You want to have a go at it?
