Many died because of late communication relayed that this island will be destroyed by bombing. I was once a tourist here way back I think that was in 2014. Barracks structure are massive, they were not totally destroyed by bombs.

CORREGIDOR LOOKS SO DIFFERENT NOW! In 1962, the UST ROTC had a BIVOUAC and I was one of them who went to Corregidor using the Army's LANDING BARGE on a Friday morning and stayed there till Sunday. At that time no one lives there nor there was a paved road, only gravel road. We stayed in the MALINTA TUNNEL to sleep at night and tried to roam around during the day. There is no Hotel then. When I went back in 2004 together with about 30 members of my family we went around took pictures including that large cannon shown here and stayed in the hotel at night and dined there too. basahin mo kc ung history.. corrigidor was part of military base extension of Sangley navy and airforce.. so administrationally nasa Sangley ung headquarters ng mga sundalo doon which is nasa cavite.
