For my eyes either model would happily sit on my shelf. The only thing that really bugs me (either Sky or Herpa) is that neither can get the shape and placement of the flight deck windows printed properly on any Airbus aircraft. I don't understand why but from front to back the windows always tend to "sweep upwards". Herpa has improved this slightly in recent years, but I'm still wary of it.
My opinion is that sky500 has better landing gear is sturdier and better quality I don't like the herpa landing gear because they are rubber/soft plastic
Both great, both have their pros and cons. The Sky500 has all the doors and windows too high on the fuselage. But the printing is more detailed what I miss with Herpas models. The joint of the wings is much better at the Sky500, the joint of the Herpa looks horrible. Sky500s Main landing gear is better but the I like the nosegear of Herpa better, besides the missing printing details. So all in all: a much older model is at least as good and Herpa suffers from lack of Detail and bad quality, nothing new here ...
