Unearthing the Mysteries of Nemrut Dağ, Turkey's Easter Island

  • Easter Island isn't the only place in the world with massive, mysterious and ancient stone faces. On the highest peak of eastern Turkey's Taurus mountains, sits Nemrut Dağ. In 62 B.C., King Antiochus I Theos of Commagene ordered the construction of this site-which contains a temple, a tomb and a house of gods-to commemorate himself. The tomb is flanked by 30-foot statues of the king, as well as pairs of lions, eagles and various gods. At one point, the heads of these sculptures sat on top of the stone bodies, but they now lie scattered throughout the site. Lost for centuries, Nemrut Dağ was excavated in 1883. Now, it sits as a testament to an ancient culture and the grand ambitions of a self-obsessed king.

21locusts Normally things like this were done because you did not like the person or people in question. In Ancient Egypt, unpopular pharaohs would have their tombs raided and statues of them smashed, and painted portrayals scratched off of walls, as a way of trying to make history forget them. Removing the face has a sort of significance which implies no one will be able to recognize you; whoever did it likely wanted it to be so that no one could acknowledge the statues of these gods. Was probably done by zealots of a later religion, Roman, Christian or Islamic.

The answer is much more simple - it is a Muslim tradition to decapitate things.
while most the world lives in the 21th century, Muslims still lives in the 14th century and try to drag all of the world there with them.

Monumental statues of the Pantheon of the Armenian Gods at Mount Nemrut. From Left to Right . Lion, Eagle, Tir, Anahit, Aramazd, Mihr, Vahagn, Eagle, Lion.
The eagle and lion are ancient Armenian symbols dating from the first Armenian kingdoms that existed prior to Christ. These symbols are found on the Armenian Highland from times immemorial. They have always been represented throughout various Armenian dynasties including, Aramian, Orontid (Yervanduni), Artaxiad (Artashessian), Arsacid (Arshakuni), Bagratid, Rubenid and many others.
In Armenian Kingdom of Kamakh (Commagene) the row of statues starts with a lion and eagle statue. The lion, the king of animals, represents earthly power, and the eagle, herald of the gods, represents heavenly. Traditional themes of Eagles and Lions trademark to Armenian imagery and identification.
The largest things on the Armenian coat of arms are the two animals: a lion and an eagle. They were chosen because of their power, nobility, wisdom, patience, and bravery.

Mountain with Armenian Gods is named Nemrut after the story of Hayk and Nimrod (Bel).
"In this very country, passing through Hayots-Dzor, an Armenian recalled his ancestor Hayk and his struggle against the Titans. He was showing to his sons the Mount Nemrut, where our ancestor Hayk raised the corpse of Nimrod, whom he defeated. To show the arrogance of this titan to his countrymen, he nailed his body to the top of the mountain and burned it. And up to these days, petrified camels are still standing at the foot of the mountain, which carried on their back supplies for the army of Nimrod and at the behest of the Armenian God were petrified here. The Armenian always proudly recalls the victory of his ancestor, the hero Hayk and he proudly thinks that he is a descendant of a great man, who was descended of the gods. "

Antiochus I of Armenian Ervanduni Dynasty. King of Armenian Kingdom of Kamakh (better known through its Greek name Commagene). His great-great grandfather was King of Armenia Ervanduni IV (Orontes IV). Kamakh is mentioned in Assyrian inscriptions as "Kumukhu" part of ARME.
Antiochus practised astrology of a very esoteric kind, and laid the basis for a calendrical reform, by linking the Kamakh-Commagene year, which till then had been based on the movements of the Sun and Moon, to the Sothic-Anahit (Star of Sirius) and Hayk (Star of Orion) cycle used by the Egyptians as the basis of their calendar.
The name of the dynasty Ervand is derived from the Sumerian (Armenoids by anthropology) name Urbanda.

Urbanda (Ervanduni) family has been one of the most important of the Nairian-Subarian tribes, who being in constant conflict with Assyria , had formed the tribal union of Uriatri which, under continuous Assyrian pressure, was forced to move its administrative centre to the north, near lake Van, and constituted the nucleus of the future powerful Armenian Kingdom of Van (Ararat-Urartu) Kingdom.

This name is found in well-known Hittite inscription that speaks about Naram Sin's 17 enemies; it occupies the 15 the place in that list of kings.

      So:
      🇬🇷 Seleukos Nikator
      🇬🇷 Ptolemaios Soter
      🇬🇷 Antigonos Monofthalmos
      🇬🇷 Lysimachos
      🇬🇷 Antipatros
^^^I mean, that is pretty GREEK 🇬🇷 if you ask me. 😂 He also claims to be Persian in his inscription as well, but he was probably of Armenian Origin also. Even the inscription was written in the Hellenic 🇬🇷 Language. We Greeks do a bad job of keeping up with our History. Someone here claimed that he wasn’t Greek because in the same inscription he calls himself a PhilHellene, but this is NOT true…because a PhilHellene or Lover of Greeks when you are GREEK YOURSELF means a PATRIOT, and is described in the works of the MANY famous ANCIENT Greek Authors.
His OWN inscription (written in Greek) literally says he is GREEK 🇬🇷 clearly..👍
Here is his OWN WORDS AGAIN (Any Greek even today can read it & understand it as clear as day):

EDIT: IT WAS YOU who said: Who says he was Greek? In another comment you left on this VIDEO. You are an ABSOLUTE LIAR & a SCAM !!!
And btw, I Love and Appreciate Armenian People, but I will NOT have someone LIE to my face about some of my peoples History, which partially includes ANTIOCHOS THEOS, said so from his OWN WORDS that he is Greek, his name & Epithet is GREEK Antiochos & THEOS (the God), written in a Greek Language, with half of his Genealogy clearly not only being Greek, but showing some of thee most FAMOUS Ancient GREEK Names of the Hellenistic Diadochi period being his Ancestors!

Also you can not find so many civilizations heritage anywhere in the world, this is just in the turkey. Every nation that lived in Anatolia loved this land and everything that belongs to it. Baseless alternative theories, as you say, explain nothing. Turks have even preserved the heritage of those who see them as enemies. however, the Greeks continue to destroy Ottoman artifacts. A civilization that cannot preserve the heritage of other civilizations is not a true civilization. Here is the secret of how the Turks, a nomadic society, created a great civilization.

The inscription of 🇬🇷 Antiochos I Theos from this site:
After taking over my father's dominion, I announced, in the piety of my thought, that the kingdom subject to my throne should be the common dwelling place of all the gods, in that by means of every kind of art I decorated the representations of their form, as the ancient lore of *Persians and of GREEKS* 🇬🇷 - *the fortunate roots of MY ANCESTRY* had handed them down (to us), and honoured them with sacrifices and festivals, as was the primitive rule and the common custom of all mankind; in addition my own just consideration has further devised still other and especially brilliant honors.

Are u an idiot?
This name is found in well-known Hittite inscription that speaks about Naram Sin's 17 enemies; it occupies the 15 the place in that list of kings.
