Very interesting. I have a Berkey though, and lots of 'filter candles' otherwise I'd be tempted.
I have a home filter using Berkey filters but it doesn’t work same way .my filtered water from Berkey measured 33 so not that good 🙁
@@AnasFoodLifestyle oops that what i have😵💫
Still in a safe range though so don’t worry too much x
@AnasFoodLifestyle on the Berkey contamination of 33, some folk never clean their collection pots... re-do it after a spring clean, not forgetting the teats that emit the water, and test again. I got this info from a major seller in the USA.
🫤
@@AnasFoodLifestylehow much is it
Looks like a good addition to a final water purification stage to remove nuclear fall out daughter radionuclides, heavy metals and pesticides from the domestic water supply (the 1986 Chernobyl or Windscale Fire nuclear fallout in the UK was not warned about by the Government) . the electrical pump system would also be useful to get to difficult water sources as well. Pumping manually a 20 litre jerry can will get old very quickly if a Solar PV panel can do the work instead.
Just ordered the TEHIL Reverse Osmosis Water Purification system to add to my portable Dark Winter/Nuclear Survival kit to complement a British Berkefeld Stainless Steel Gravity Water Purifier with 4 x Ultra Sterasyl.
I was given their advert quite recently by my wife.
I believe that it will be absolutely fine in the UK. The first thing on my mind, though, is the replacement cost of the filters. Also, the volumes that it can handle before replacement. The water loss might be a problem too. I would likely run waste water through a second time if the water was normal contamination, like a pond etc, before actually chucking it away, unless it's a chemical or Radiological contaminants and I have no choice
That said, however, it looks to be a perfect "easy fit, home from home" device!
I might just get one 😊
You could save the waste water for the plants 🙂
Ana has posted the filter life spans on here somewhere, but I would defiantly run a prefilter (even though it has one fitted)to try and prolong the filter lifespan
It is already on my shopping list 🙂
This is one of the prepper things i was trying to find out about. So thank you ❤❤❤
Very welcome 😊 there isn’t anything like that on the market that is portable so it’s a god sent for preppers
These are very practical , my issue is , these will need charged , and filter replacement will have to happen at some point
I think these would be great for a " boil water " order we might receive, local disasters such as tornadoes and hurricanes
Thanka Ana , good see you get out ! Look forward to your next post !
Yes they will need charging but you can use solar and filters 300/400 to 800/900gl which is not that bad and I think if you purify tap water that would be even higher. And yes nice to be outside and filming. I promise I do leave my kitchen quite often 😁
Thanks Ana, that is an amazing bit of kit.
It is indeed, never knew something like that existed😊
Great video Ana, I've been putting money aside to get one of the larger Lifesaver filters but this looks really interesting 👍
Thank you. There is no comparison to RO filtration results. It’s crazy how the water taste so flat but then it indicates total distillation. I was liking at RO for home incase of nuke but only few companies do it and so expensive, this one fits the bill
Ana, I talked to the makers and they say it has a 1.2 hour run time and it can be connected to a separate power supply for continuous running.
Also mentioned that I saw the good review on your channel and that I would love to see a review of their cordless fan 😎😎
Thank you for that. Uk not sure if they sell fans to Uk yet, they have power station and that’s not available to Uk yet, hopefully soon and Dan sounds like a good idea too😁 thank you fir doing that 🥰
Really good review thank you, seems a great machine. 👍🏼
Thanks for watching!🥰
I had one over 30 years ago when I lived near multiple dairy farms, the farmers often when through the water pipes when ploughing and the water would come out the taps as dark brown 🤮. We didn’t have water meters then 🤣. They are used on yachts to make sea water drinkable.
This one is fresh water only, no sea water unfortunately 😊
This sea water thing is interesting. I'll look them up.
Well done.
That is a real nice little piece of kit and at a pretty decent price.
There is nothing on the site, but did they mention if it is capable of through charging (so plug in a panel or SG and let it run for several hours).
I used to fit the domestic version of this into posh kitchens and their biggest down side is the amount of water that they waste in the cleaning process, on the ones that I was fitting, there was a two to one ratio (so for every litre of clean water, it produced two litres of waste water).
It's OK, if you have a local stream or lake to obtain your water from, but it you are going to be reliant on water butts / storage then this probably isn't the best solution 😞
Ana, you need to get them to sent you one of their fans to review, might be a bit late for this year, but great for next year (assuming that we get sun then 🙂)
Yes you can charge and use. And yes the yeald is low from initial ammount but it is kind of aimed at rivers and lakes etc . I’ll ask about fan 😊
@@AnasFoodLifestyle Yes, I know that you can charge and use. But if you had a large group or needed a lot of water in a single go, is it possible to plug in a panel or SG and in effect run the filter from them, so that the internal battery is always getting topped up as it is filtering.
I mentioned about the amount of waste for those who know nothing about the process and are thinking of filtering their rainwater butts - knowledge is power 🙂
When you ask about the fan, mention that you have a mate who would be happy to test one as well 🤣🤣
👍🤣
Hmmmm , rather embarrassing when the river water is of a better quality than tap huh .
Yeah i know , you still got the floaters though .
Okay so on a serious note , that sounds , a very interesting machine . Frankly , i've not heard of any that would run comfortably on solar . They are normally pretty power hungry . The greater the flow rate , the more power needed . Though with that said , i have seen one rated at 4ah . Be interesting to see what amp hour rating this machine is !
It is embarrassing , water companies should be ashamed ! I’ll post some info or update on more details on the machine 😊
Once the water has gone through the filter would you still boil it or not worry??
I would use a Steri-pen UV water treatment.
You don’t need to worry unless you really want to x
@@AnasFoodLifestyle thanks for that just curious❤️
Steripen is no where near as effective as RO just by research alone. You might as-well use plastic bottle in sunlight ?
What about salt water?
Sorry only freshwater
What powers it ?
It runs if 2x6000mah battery, rechargeable in 2/3hrs depending on input
What if no electricity for charging?.
You can use solar , 2/3 hr charge . I think most preppers will try and cater for that
You can distill water without electricity. Use fire. But solar until the real stress starts
How much are they.
Current price is in the link in the description along with the discount code 😊
@@AnasFoodLifestyle Thank you Ana ,keep up the good work.
This whole issue might be a 7 year period.
Why 7 years? I know we all prepping for many things but why 7? 2030 agenda in 5 years away ish
@AnasFoodLifestyle, the famine is meant to last 7years.
So you buy lots of spare filters 🙂
So can you use this for tap water?
Is a Berkey going to hold more water?
Which is the best, instead of buying plastic bottled water?
The one you have for tap water or a Berkey?
@@catholicfaithchannelamen If you are in the UK, then look for a British Berkefeld, similar to a Berkey, only better 🙂 and is the better option for using tap water.
The unit in the video is more suited for taking water from a river or a lake as they waste a lot of water in the process - for every litre that you get to drink, it uses another 2 litres wasted
