    The alphabet of self diagnosis. "On Disabilities" but not officially, who knows what's truly going on with her mother. She deflects what she did with all the heroics she does on her own, caring for her mother, working 90 hours a week, hiring thousands of people in the past. I don't believe her at all, the tears and voice quivering like a manipulating TV evangelist. Fear of a jury, total victimization, just an act to derail the topic on hand, that she was caught stealing.

  • @aandrus2169
    @aandrus2169 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

    I have been mostly bedridden for the last 34 years with 5 autoimmune diseases that accumulated over that time. It's a very hard life to be disabled. I believe her hardships and frustrations because of my own experiences. And yes, I have mental illness too. HOWEVER, I am NOT a criminal. I do not steal money, abuse medication, drugs or any other criminal thing. Just don't commit crimes.
    22:41 The judge is exactly right. A seriously disabled person cannot have chaos in their lives because it is seriously detrimental to mental and physical health. When you are this sick, you MUST take care of yourself first. If you don't, you crash and that helps nobody. People this disabled find taking care of themselves becomes their "full time job" because it's exhausting and there is no energy or capability for anything else. The judge is doing her a great favor by making those probation restrictions.
    By the way, I see lots of comments dissing this kind of "invisible illness." All I have to say to that is before I got sick I used to have exactly the same snarky responses. I didn't believe "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" was a real thing (for example). I remember denigrating a lady terribly (in my mind) for her health claims when, outwardly, she looked perfectly fine. And then, I guess God needed to teach me a lesson, so I became sick with these same kinds of things and I went through the experiences of being the one who was disbelieved and ridiculed. It's hell. I learned my lesson the hard way, and I deserved it. So be careful of your attitude so you don't learn the hard way like I did. Learn from my foolishness.

      @@janetklumper6048 Some people lack empathy, and they want everyone to be sent to jail as if all crimes deserve the death penalty. They don't believe in change or forgiveness, so it's hard to read those comments. On the other hand, once you take a plea, you accept guilt, and there'll be consequences, so they need to save their complaints and explanations for their lawyers. Some of them talk themselves into trouble by thinking the judge is there for justice or to solve their problems.

      I was about to write my story in the comments. And after reading your life story I no longer need to. As your story is mine as well. I too remember before all my illnesses came and before I needed a wheelchair to mobilize with. I would see people who looked just fine but claimed they had invisible illnesses. I have said I judged once too many times and The Lord saw fit to allow me to experience debilitating illness, suffering and losses. And I look completely healthy and am often asked how is it I’m sick because I look normal. Even though I mobilize with a wheelchair. Life is hard but I am thankful to be alive and I work very hard at not judging others. I love judge Boyd. I wonder how she can figure out people who are telling the truth of illnesses such as the defendants. Or see through the lies of the defendant. How does judge Boyd distinguish it. Because I would find it very hard in this particular women’s case.

      I know in Florida you lose it if you go to jail but I'm not sure if you get it back once you're out of jail.

      What a goofy thing to say, just because someone's a felon doesn't mean they haven't paid taxes? Also, I guess you think adding to the 500,000+ homeless people in the US is a good idea? If the person did the time, the debt to society is paid.

    “I dont trust people because they dont think for themselves”
    Also her: “im ashamed for trying medical marijuana. My doctor tried every medication to the highest dose they could prescribe.”
    Soooo you just blindly trust the doctor and take every pill they give you but smoking a plant is where you draw the line? Who doesnt think for themselves again?

    Two thoughts: she can still be an advocate for her mom with someone else providing the actual care, and her son in the Navy should probably stay out of this as he’s on a nuclear submarine and this could potentially cause problems with his security clearance.

    She knows how to work the system. She was hoping for a male judge or why else would she come like that to court like that.
    I despise people who live off a disabled person's income. This supposed care is a fantasy. First her mother was bedridden. Then she could stand to change the diapers. Then no one else can care for a woman who was getting along fine before her daughter was caught stealing. She is manufacturing reasons to stay with her mother and live off her.

    I literally had to keep pausing the video because she made me so uncomfortable. Holy shit ma'am, has this behavior really worked for you in life? "I didn't do it but I don't want a jury because I don't trust people" do you hear yourself?? So you think 12 strangers would see through your bullshit, but you think you can manipulate the judge?

      Her reply about jurors not wanting to be there is telling. Maybe when SHE got summoned she didn't want to be there. I LOVE jury duty - well I love when I'm chosen :) - the waiting around for a day kind of sucks, but it's a good chance to get caught up on some work. It's an honor to be part of that system and I want to do my part to ensure that both the state (or plaintiff) and defendant get fair and impartial judgement by their peers. Voir Dire is especially interesting and it is a very powerful process for our legal system.

      @@BitwiseMobile Very true!! I was so sad when I had to call my local clerk of court and ask to be temporarily removed from the jury pool for medical reasons. I would be ridiculously excited to be picked for a jury!

    What the heck does your husband cheating, your mama being sick, her dying almost 3 times and other issues in life got to do with you stealing. The heck is wrong with this lady other than needing Jesus and a licensed therapist in her life. The lawyer's face when the defendant is talking is hilarious. His expression is like he does not think this woman is dealing with a full deck of cards and he could have had a V8. Judge Boyd is not moved by tears or her brain fog of issues in life and I say that as someone who gets a lot of brain fogs, but this lady is all over the place and she's trying to tug on the heartstrings of Judge Boyd and it's not working. If you don't trust the jury, the system, or anything that you have severe trust issues, then don't steal and think you're just going to skate by. If you knew you couldn't take chances and you need to be available for your family, then you don't go out and steal. Full stop.
