A closeup would be worth a thousand words. Do you take off 1/32 - 1/16 - 3/32? For my chamfered dogs I took off 1/16. Looks very neat and professional.
I’m in Australia and spent a good couple of hours last night trawling forums to find out the answer to this question...and then I wake up to the vid that answers the very question!
Hey Ron , good, informative video again! Recently bought your Paulk Smart Bench and Smart Kart plans and am now at the point of chamfering the 20mm dog holes. Quickly found out that the UJK Chamfer tool DOES NOT work at all on plywood, at least not to my liking ... so I'm wondering do you have any issues with tear-out when you're using the trim router on ply or tips to avoid tear-out? Thanks.
The router makes quick work of it. I also do the top edges cutouts and really every opening. Take some scrap ply set up your cuter and do some tests. You will find out it is a good option. I don't even know why they make a manual chamfer tool as it is too much work.
Hi Ron, in the past you have used and mentioned round over bits. I know how each work but why the change to chamfer? Thanks for the videos. As always.....keep them coming!
In watching some of Ron’s videos, I was thinking to myself...as many jigs and templates that he makes for everything, no way does he have them all in that workshop trailer. That probably what all the black and yellow totes are for. As organized as Ron is, he probably has an inventory to each template/ jig and assigns a tote number to each one. Then he records it all on his phone, and when he needs a certain template/jig he has a inventory list for each one. That’s my theory anyways......🤷♂️🤓
@@TheSmartWoodshop Maybe I missed it. When did you mention the diameter, cut length? I am about to buy one for my cutting board, and I am curious where to start with the size of the blade. The degree is only a part of the chamfer. Sorry, new to woodworking here.
"just a little bit but not too much!" Thanks for the precise demo on how to set it up.
Thanks for sharing this Ron. I have been wondering about the chamfer.

@@TheSmartWoodshop Thanks, Ron. Yeah, that UJK chamfer tool does work on MDF but I'm not a fan of MDF.

I needed the chamfer for the 20mm holes so I decided to use a chamfer all the way around instead of changing bits.
What do you store in all of those bins Ron? I'll chamfer my RP table next time I pull it out this week.
He’s in between homes, it his earthly stuff. I asked the same question months ago..

You forgot to add the link.
It’s there
We are here for the answer. You never said the measurement of your chamfer bit. Fail.
I answered the queston clearly: th-cam.com/video/Lpl6i_HyEp0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FvcZBn-SU_IF9qCy
