Beans is the one common denominator among all the blue zones. Blue zones are a term for areas where people seem to generally live longer lives than other parts of the world.
What is one of all the things beans are rich in?
-Water-soluble/soluble fiber (which aids removal of toxins)
We all live in some form of toxic environment. For example an old poison like DDT is still floating around (long half life). DDT and other dangerous chemicals are also being used in some places with weak hazardous chemical regulations.
I recommend checking out Grant Genereux and his three free ebooks and Dr. Garrett Smith (The Nutrition Detective).
You could also search PubMed for the term "soluble fiber decrease mortality". Soluble fiber has been shown to lower overall mortality (mortality from all causes).

Thank you for this lecture. 2 years ago my mom was diagnose with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The family doctor gave her medication for the high blood pressure and suggested her to go on a low fat diet (no red meat, butter, processed meat or dairy products). She had her blood tested after 3 months and the cholesterol was way better, almost normal. After few months she went back to her old diet (she really likes cheese and dairy products) and the cholesterol went up again. I'm seeing almost everyone over the age of 50 taking medication for high blood pressure and/or cholesterol and everyone seems just fine with that; almost no one talks about changing the diet or adopting a healhtier lifestyle. I think this is crazy. Oh, and i'm not from the US, I'm from Italy.

Recommended sample menu includes pizza (crust), minestrone, pasta, cereal, "crusty" bread, and then a few slides later, the presentation recommended that "white" flour be avoided. Whole grain is predominantly white flour with a relatively small amounts of bran, germ and endosperms left in. If I sprinkle a little wheat germ and bran on a bacon cheese burger, does that magically transform it into a food worthy of being on the recommended list vs the avoid list? If a little wheat germ and bran can perform such powerful alchemy, why not supplement every meal with wheat germ and bran?
Recommended sample menu included soy, (highly processed, high omega 6) faux sausage, lectin rich foods, copious amounts "white floor" (with accompanying germ and bran left in), and suggested use of off the shelf (high omega 6, high sugar) pizza sauce.
It's hard to swallow these as healthy choices.
There was no mention of avoiding the "dirty dozen" (of pesticide/ herbicide laden produce), and using organic produce as much as one can afford. Berries in particular are one the the healthiest foods if organic, and one of the unhealthiest if non organic and doused with a plethora of pesticides (which cannot be rinsed off).
There are other nutrition plans on the "interwebs" that recommend avoiding soy, peanuts, corn, and gluten containing grains, in addition to the sweeteners, eggs, and dairy you recommend avoiding. The science based rationale of avoiding these include leaky gut, glyphosate soaked GMOs, aflatoxins, phytoestrogens, inflammation, and (sometimes subtle) digestive problems and allergic reactions.
The presentation recommended "nuts and seeds" but the healthiness of "nuts and seeds" is wide ranging, and some should probably be avoided.
There was no mention of using EVO (with some ACV) on salads. I guessing that is not encouraged? I thought a bit of fat helps the body absorb the nutrients in a salad. Perhaps some nut butter can be used as a dressing? Or just lemon juice?
I'm perplexed how a person with insulin resistance who is trying to lose weight could eat grains three times a day (as outlined in the sample menu) and not suffer elevated blood sugar and elevated A1c, along with cravings, post meal crashes, and constant hunger.
Is there a WFPB diet plan that explicitly omits gluten, soy, lectins, GMOs, dirty dozen vegs, and provides sufficient B12, omega 3, protein, and prevents insulin spikes?
    Thanks in advance.

@ Paul. What she is saying, is before the availability of cheap junk from the west in the Philippines, the rich had more access to meat which is more expensive than veggies and fruit. Of course, now, garbage and meat is cheap because it’s subsidized by corrupt governments run by pharmaceutical and oil companies (often the same people own both). We have a ruling elite that does not want a healthy, thinking society. They want stupid, fat and lazy people to make them trillions of dollars by using their damaging drugs. Stupid, fat, and lazy people are more easily controlled and are happy to sit on the couch watching idiotic programs on TV. Heres the thing. If you eat a plant-based diet you're eating an overall significant amount of less calories and less sugar. Those studies of people eating meat more than likely we're also eating a lot of sugar and carbs along with the meat. So then the question is is it the plants or is it the overall less calories and less sugar that are making you better? Because I know plenty of healthy people on keto diet that eat meat regularly but don't consume a lot of sugar and carbs and don't have any bad cholesterol or other negative markers.

However, she also told me that one of the privileges of living in a free country was that I had the right to choose weather or not to follow the diet. Thankfully, I chose to follow.

      while weighing 250 pounds
humans have an acidic stomach( for animal flesh or meat digestion) and gallbladder(saturated animal fat digestion)

All benefits mentioned can equally be attributed to removal of processed foods (carbohydrates and sugars). Why do vegans need essential B12 injections/supplements if we are meant to eat an exclusive plant-based diet? The remainder of diet not stated in protein studies. Organic grass-fed meat and eggs for B12. Why don’t we stop debating plant-based vs carnivore diet when we are clearly meant to combine high quality foods from both. Just get rid of the processed foods and stop snacking so you keep your insulin levels down: You’ll live til dinner!

McKenzie Family You are right , but it’s a well know fact that meat eaters have very good , bright chances of developing cancer when compared to vegetarians. In India , cancer was a very very rare , never heard disease but later on , as they move towards non vegetarian diet , cancer , heart problems is becoming quite common. And these days pollution is also playing big role . I remember , elders use to tell me if you want to stay away from cancer stay away from meat completely and eat a healthy organic vegetarian diet from our farms . No pesticide or any kind of chemicals uses that time . They might be right maybe wrong . I am a complete non vegetarian at the moment . But still confused what’s right what’s wrong. Regarding B12 never deficient in B type of vitamins , neither when I was a complete vegetarian nor when I become full non vegetarian . Maybe vegans need it , not sure

I’m always wary of statistics used to promote one diet over another. They usually compare extremes and are so generalised that it’s difficult to really know what’s best for you as an individual. Personally I feel better when I eat a little meat as well as the vegetables, nuts and ancient grains, and of course some exercise. The best advice is to listen to your own body. Some people don’t do well on a lot of things that are supposed to be good generally speaking. I was allergic to a lot of vegetables once. I don’t know anyone else who is intolerant to iceberg lettuce. Now I can eat most things. I’m healthy and happy. I don’t run marathons, but I don’t need to. I knew someone who died after a relatively short run, and a family member who died young despite being a vegetarian for 50 years. Best advice is to listen to your body, don’t eat junk ( if man made it don’t eat it - including genetically modified stuff) and keep moving. If you really like milk and don’t like almond milk or soy I’ve discovered a really great coconut milk called COCOSOUL organic. It’s the only one I like.

I thought I had allergies to certain foods. Someone said I might be reacting to whatever was on the vegetables so I clean them w a veggie wash. No more reactions, should have been doing it anyway. I do this and my mind body and mood are wonderful. It’s working and I love it I know a little of foods off this won’t kill me. I have to taste my mother’s food. She doesn’t get it. Wish she did. Wow! VERY interesting and important. I've been vegan for some years, but unhealthy (eating alot of sugar, processed food, too much soy products) so I tried keto for a while to loose weight. My stomach got CRAZY. Not right away but gradually bad. And other health concerns got worse. So I realized now with this lecture the importance of eating a WHOLE FOOD healthy vegan diet and stay away from all the vegan junk foods and snacks. That's all fine in the beginning in the transition, but not anymore! The only thing I hate to stop eating again is cheese. And there is two ways of doing it:
    1. A smart dietist said that eating 75% right and 25% "bad" is good enough. Maybe that should be 95/5%. This can work in a transition period.
    2. I used to think like this: I'm not giving up cheese forever. IF I really want it I can have some, but it should be of the best quality and a special occasion. That helped me to not eat cheese for three years and I can try it again. After a while it becomes natural to not eat it.
    3. Now when I went back to cheese again I got CRAZY with it. I've indulged in expensive cheese. And I became very constipated and bloated. I can see now how hard it is to eat a little. It's like she said; a drug. Goodbye lovely parmesan, chèvre, feta, 30 month cultured Västerbotten...

the only whole foods is a meat based diet....
plants, that is just living off of stored muscle mass and stored vitamins in the liver
because the proof is you can't build muscle with plants, that are pretty much just sugar or fibre
(since ALL plants store energy as sugar) what you think plant protein is?
it's a nitrogen conversion factor ,A Factor by which nitrogen content of a foodstuff is multiplied to determine the protein content
Nothing but MAN MADE NUMBERS on a screen....
I could claim grass is healthy because it has 8 grams of protein "content" by using MAN MADE NUMBERS on a screen i can use a conversion factor to come up with the the man made digits on a screen .....
the bottom line humans don't have a fermentation chamber so plants are not even digestible ...PERIOD.

      Hi there,
Abstinence (self-control), exercise, fresh air, nutrition, rest, trust in GOD, and water, are the 8 Laws, which if adhered to by mankind (created for mankind by the GODHEAD), will result in good health. I would recommend opting for an organic, unrefined and untempered with vegan diet (preferably raw so as not to denature or destroy the life-forces and enzymatic activities) and make sure to include plant foods that look like the organ one may be experiencing difficulty with, for instance, an organic walnut and pecan (looks like the brain and targets it e.g contains Omega 3 Fatty Acids beneficial for the brain, but not to eat too many); a carrot (looks like the eye when cut and targets the eye); a tomato (looks like the heart when cut and targets the heart); celery stalk (looks like bones and targets them); an artichoke (looks like a hip and targets it); a grape (looks like a cell and targets the lymphatic system); and so on and so forth. The discarding of flesh meats is recommended due to disease on the rise in animals e.g mad cow disease and tuberculosis.
      Best wishes

As a type 2 diabetic I have recently cut out most high carb foods to get my blood sugar levels back to normal. So rarely eat any bread, potatoes, rice, pasta and don’t drink beer . I will sometimes eat 1 brown whole meal roll , a very small amount of whole grain rice or a very small amount of whole meal pasta but only a couple of times a week. This is hard for me as I was brought up on a carb heavy diet but it has worked in decreasing blood sugar which is almost back to normal. I compensate for the lack of carbs by eating twice as many vegetables, eg celeriac, swede, turnips, squash, aubergines.I eat no cereal for breakfast but full fat yoghurt with nuts and blueberries.
The celeriac I ribbon and sauté in butter or mix in pesto sauce. I eat fish, more fatty meat than before, bacon and eggs with mushrooms and tomatoes (no bread) lots of brocoli, carrots, chard and I eat cheese and eggs a lot. This is like a Keto diet and I have lost weight and am continuing to lose weight which is necessary for diabetes control
After watching this it seems half of my diet is wrong. I still crave high carb foods because that’s what I was brought up on. The high animal fat content in my diet compensates for the low carbs but if I cut out milk and dairy what do I use to replace it,baring in mind I need to avoid bread, potatoes, rice and pasta?

So hard to know what to believe... gluten is also dangerous and seed oils apparently, whatever food you choose there is always someone saying it is dangerous. Health aware meat eaters does not live shorter than vegetarians however, so I guess being a supreme omnivore and eating everything is the safest thing to do... !

It is a matter of the theory of science. Reductionist science (classic natural science) always aims to isolate factors in order to produce reproducable results. This science gives long lists of food that increase the risk of some diseases, such as "sugar increase diabetes" "alcohol cause liver damage" etc. Another approach is holistic, that is looking at whole systems like the human body and establish correlations between factors with or without some causal explanation.
Looking at this video I may expect liver cancer to be more common in countries where people drink more milk. This is not the case (the north european countries have very low cancer figures and high milk consumption). This is not evidence against the hyphothesis that casein drives cancer, but it is evidence that otherwise healthy people can afford to drink a lot of milk without any noticeable health issues. The latter is a typically holistic result, it says something about the human body without offering any particular explanation or causal chain.

I faced the same issue myself.
For people who start eating more vegetables (fibers), initially you will have this issue as your gut bacteria suddenly have plentiful food.
Instead of straight away starting to eat the recommended fiber intake (20 mg per 1000 calories), start with small amounts of fibers and gradually scale up.

      toxic plant sludge.
this doctor did not even tell you about the kidney issues you can get from Spinach, broccoli from the calcium oxalates in them ( also broccoli contains anti thyroid toxins it blocks iodine )
Beans are the most toxic plant on earth 10/10 toxicity
it causes bIood cIots in animals (that means humans)
phytohemagglutinin or also known as lectins.... (this is the antidote for taking too many aspirins or bIood thinner )
this is why beans need to be cooked for 6 hours ...
Also the reason why beef and fish digest better is because humans have an acidic stomach (for meat digest )and gallbladder (saturated fat digestion)

More studies are needed on not only the source of milk but the processing.
There are many remote parts of the world where unpasteurised milk (mostly goat's) and milk products constitute a considerable part of their nutrition. People go on to live long and healthy lives.

  • @krakoosh1
    @krakoosh1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I see many problems with these studies. Many things not being said. My own testimony is completely reverse what these studies show. First problem is most meat has high levels of Omega-6 fats because of their diet. These fats do cause inflammation in the body, especially the arteries. They also add sugars into our meats. I used to be raw vegan. Gained over 70 pounds, spent 7 years suffering muscle atrophy. I had almost 40 health issues including CVD, fatty liver and diabetes. What the diet is of the animals you eat is just as important as what you eat. Blood pressure is directly related to the amount of calcium in your arteries. Omega-3 fats actually dissolve the calcification in your arteries.
The effects of wars in Asia is another major factor. Pastures and food resources destroyed. You have the largest population in the world that can’t feed themselves. Then they have to buy feed for their animals that have nothing to graze on.
Something else we are not told is what was the diet before the study and what after? Was something else removed from the diet when they went vegetarian? Research former vegans and find out most become emancipated and sick and go back to eating meat. They also supplement Vit D but their tests show they are still deficient. Avocados are not a good source of fat for fat soluble vitamins
Also, with technology came the ability not needing to ferment foods. That is our highest source of potassium, K2 mk7. Which is vital for keeping arteries clear and teeth strong and healthy.

My problem is that I get very hungry on a plant based low carb diet, although I eat a ton of vegetables. We know the dangers of sugar, high carbs and vegetable oils when it comes to Alzheimers and dementia and so many others, so eating high carb foods like bread, pasta and processed food is not an option for me. I was vegan for years but was on my way to diabetes and had several auto immune conditions. Carbs matters.
