Putthatinur Pipe I hope that too. Puberty would be the hardest time to get through that: Low self esteem, people telling that girls can't skateboard. Luckily, where I live they don't care if skaters are boys or girls. There are more male skaters, but it doesn't really matter to me. Not many people skate where I live, mostly longboarders just cruising on the roads.
I've been trying to learn how to skate.. But I don't wanna go to a skatepark, because I think I'll look just like the stereotype. I'm a girl who can't skate. And it's really hard to learn in my driveway. :/ I just wanna learn! Just to be able to roll down the sidewalk..
+TicTACtoe I love seeing girls at the park. Just go. No one cares if you're not great. And you'll be better by the end of your first day if you try. Go for it.
+TicTACtoe I've been skating for about 7 months or so now and I felt the exact same way when I started. At the end of last winter I would go when it was too cold for anyone to want to be out and over this past summer I would go to the park when it was too hot for anyone to be out. I got really comfortable really quick. And if you're respectful (i.e not letting your board fly around and waiting your turn) and you learn the basics or least are comfortable on your board most guys will be more than happy to teach you new things and you'll be shredding in no time. It's also about doing it every single day sounds lame but repetition will pay off. I don't normal comment on youtube vids but we need more girls out there :D Hope this was helpful, sorry it was long.
+TicTACtoe don't worry. Girls at skateparks get more respect than boys a skateparks. Also, I'm not great at it either, and when I go to the skatepark, I get made fun of too, and I'm a boy, so it doesn't really matter that you're a girl
Knowing that some parents are encouraging young girls to skateboard makes me happier than you could know. I wanted to skate so bad at that age, but my parents wouldn't let me. My Mom has apologized, but I love her either way. When I was 13 or 14 I got to use my cousins skateboard, and then I got my own when I was almost 15. I was never very good, but I just kept skating. I had some gaps where I didn't skate, and now I'm almost 23 and starting again. It's definitely tougher than when I was a kid, but I just always have to have a skateboard with me. Once you touch a board you never let it go.
I am 14 years old (15 in November) and today I bought my new skateboard. My mom didn't let me, but who cares - I had fish skateboard and I don't like it, I wanna start with tricks. Wish me luck ;)
Skateboarding is in no way, shape, or form, an "unusual" passion. Skateboarding is a perfectly legitimate passion! Every skater on planet earth knows this, from California to Afghanistan to Ethiopia. That's why the Olympics added skateboarding to the 2020 lineup. Don't fret, girls, you're awesome!
I know girls who rip but tend to skate privately - some dudes can be pretty terrible - not all but some of us. I have big respect for girls who can go out and not be deterred for playing a "man's sport"
Even I have to deal with stuff like this as an adult sponsored skater. "Omg, don't tell me even SHE can drop in" "the girl did it, so now I have to" "hey, is he teaching you how to skate?" - quotes from guys who had never seen me before. All happened in the last two months.
I was around five when I first skateboarded, but I stopped because my older brother became the "skater of the family." I didn't want to be that annoying sister that did everything he did. Especially the one that did everything worse. However, I've been back on for a year now, and I wish I hadn't stopped just because I felt like I couldn't skateboard better than a boy. I really hope that videos like these motivate girls to keep on trying and not feel inferior when it comes to male-dominated sports such as skateboarding.
Lacey Silver you didn't stop because he was a boy, you stopped because he was better so stop saying that "males are sexists" and "girls don't have it as good. there may be some guys that hate on girls for doing "guy things" but girls do the same to guys
I'm the little sister who picked up the inline skates when my older brother transitioned to skateboarding. I just got my own pair 2 weeks ago. My first ever pair! And these fit! And this is coming from a twenty something coming back after a 15+year break. If you like something, don't let anything stop you. Skate with the kids, who are better than you, who are bouncier than you and push harder than you. Skate with the adults who are starting out again, or perhaps for the first time. Skate with those people who've been skating for a while. Go on and skate!
love love love this documentary. I was a huge tomboy growing up and loved to skate. I was actually the only girl in my little town that did skate. Now, I have a little girl of my own so we'll see if the apple didn't fall too far from the tree.
I've been skating since I was 7. used to go to the skatepark all the time but now im too scared people will judge me. I only skate in my driveway now and its not enough. idk if I should go or not
So I played this for my daughter every night for about a month when she was 3. She is 6 now and loves her skateboard! Tonight was the first time I played this for her little sister. 😁
I know a similar feeling of being told you can't do something. I played boys hockey until I turned 15. Every day you have to go out there and prove yourself. They all respected me by the end of the season. Loved it. Made so many great friends
I'm a skater, not really a fan of skateboards. It's hard to find any girls in the skating rink because they want to be perfect and don't want to hurt themself. When I got my first roller blades I was so excited. Then I got a skateboard. I wasn't really happy. But when I first started shredding in the skate park. I felt like I was born to do that. So I was proud of this video, and it partially made me cry. -Piano Jaz
plssssssss keep skating all of u. u have a crazy talent at that age. girls can do what ever guys can do, only if u believe u can. i see a awesome future 4 u guys.
+Freckled Freddi well sure, but boys and girls are different. like, I know you are just saying this because you are probably a girl, but if girls work at something, of corse they can, and honestly, nobody has ever said that girls can't skate...
Boys can do anything possible Girls can do anything possible I just don't get it why there's more shirts that say like " Whatever boys can do, girls do it better. And most people say "Girl power" more than saying stuff like "Boy power!" Everyone is equal... Is it just cause girls are jealous? There's like this stuff "Never hit a girl" "Open doors for women & elderly" "Ladies first" And like on the Titanic only kids under 13 & women can go on a lifeboat. I know why, because women have babys... But, boys make resources to make babys... And on cartoons boys get hurt more than girls... It's just weird...
That was cute. And they're good for little girls. Skating takes a lot of practice. Its hard. I've fallen many times, slid across the road, bruised my legs all up. I mean it just comes with it. I always try to learn something new on it. And I love doing it, I'm also female. And i constantly deal with douches that feel the need to doubt me but then I prove them wrong. :)
I want to akateboard but i thought people would think im weird because im a girl, and because of this vid im going to get a skateboard.😁💅i love the nail polish part
That's great! As an experienced skater I would recommend Spencer Nuzzi's how to skateboard on the ride channel he covers everything from how to pick your wheels board etc. to detailed tutorials on tricks and more.
"🐝AGH A BEE BEE BEE STAY STILL🐝" lol "SKATE OFF" wise choice girl wise choice, lol you gales are just so cute, and believe you can... and never give up even through the toughest times!
i love love love this!! teaching little kids (boys AND girls) at an early age that femininity and toughness (or ability in sports, strength etc) are not mutually exclusive!! little girls can be little girls and enjoy themselves in any space, even in spaces in that are conventionally thought of as masculine spaces.
So I saw this video 2 years ago and I got so inspired by them that at Christmas I asked for a skateboard...When I got it i was so happy and I started to learn to skate...since moving to apartment I haven’t had time or been motivated to skate again, but I’ll learn again one day 🤷♀️
This video blew my mind. The filming, the editing, the sound, like it was all brilliant and hilarious! How did they get the sound to work like that? I need answers. So good!
Really really good documentary. It's great how the filmmakers caught all these special moments on camera and put them together in that great narration style. And these girls are awesome.
I love this documentary, I'm not exactly a Tomboy, but I'm also no girly girl, I was just an active person, I've skated for a pretty long time, and this video inspired me and my cousin to keep learning new tricks! I'm also a glitter lover and tutu as I go to ballet!
This video doesn't even know what it's trying to be. It's saying that girls and boys can do whatever they want and be who they want, but then it's taking time to show girls doing "girly" things like nail painting, and wearing dresses and wigs, liking hearts, castles, pink, and unicorn while boys are shown being rough and "guy like". So it's saying that girls can do "guy sports" and do it just as well but they still have to follow all the other stereotypes?? It doesn't make sense. People should be able to be whoever they are without them stated as being different. It should just be them.
No, dude, it's saying you don't have to choose. You can paint your nails and have tea parties on Monday then shred in the park on Tuesday. I think that philosophy can/should apply to boys and girls, man.
or maybe, just maybe, those girls enjoy doing all of them - -? The video start with girls doing nails (stereotype), and the next shot they are in a skatepark (breaking the stereotype, which was the whole point of the video). Skateboarding girls are usually seen as Tomboy (stereotype), just like some of the comments mentioned here. For their outfits in the skatepark scenes , they are in dressed in a more 'girly' way (again, breaking the stereotype). For the scenes at home, you can tell that those girls wore whatever they like. And for those boys being rough and 'guy like' as you said, I think that's just how they act natural (think about it, when you were small, most boys pretty much act the same as them). From the opening of this video, you can tell that the director has more than the observable images to say as he/she instructed those girls to paint nails in the middle of the park (a planned shots rather than a random shot), so stop reading it so shallow and add your own twisted misunderstanding
Ok course girls can skate just as mens. Question is "why do we think they can't?". I'm not sure why they have to wear all the pink princess stuff though ? to remember they are exceptional and should only be princesses ? Don't think it's the more comfortable outfit to skate. Discrimination will be over only when it will not be surprising or special to see girls do the stuff boys do (or boys do what girls do). Then you'll see more girls at X-Games :-) Cute video anyway.
chief wiggums Why does not wanting to dress in pink and sparkles automatically make you a "bulldyke"? When I was their age my favorite color was black.
Jalei Oneal What... That's so unfair. So just because at a 50% chance of being a boy and being a girl, you became a girl, means that you have to do 'girly' stuff? I'm a girl and I'm not into nail polish and pink stuff etc. I love unicorns and rainbows, but that's pretty much it. I like longboarding, skateboarding, rock, gaming. :P
Jalei Oneal Tell your parents that skating requires grace and you need to make turns and twirl and all that so it requires skill. Isn't something girly something that requires grace? Also, I'm sorry they won't let you have one
Even as a toddler I wanted to skateboard. My mama bought me my first ever skateboard at 2-3 years old and it was tiny but it was perfect for me. I was never good at it lol my dad didn’t like me playing with it. When I got a little older a had a normal size skateboard and I tried to get my uncle to teach me how to. I never did tricks and there wasn’t a skatepark near me growing up so I only learned how to cruise around and do kick flips. When I ended up living with my grandparents my grandma took my skateboard and hid it away from me. I could never find it and I didn’t have enough money to buy a new one. Years later I found it and it was rotten through by humidity. Even now I at least have a penny board to cruise when I want to but I’ll never get the years I lost back. I hope to get a new board and learn how to do it properly one day. I’m 21 rn I don’t think it’s to late 😅
I don't. These particular little girls obviously love pink! If the idea were created by someone who didn't know the girls involved, I would see something wrong with it, but since this title was created by the girls and/or their parents, I think it's fine because it suits this particular group of girls perfectly.
Char Bear Giving a little girl's skateboarding group a name that is downright obvious sexual innuendo isn't good... If it's a genuine mistake, fine, but they should still change it... I mean come on 'Pink helmet posse'? Seriously?!
Ok, I'm confused. I'm pretty good with slang, but not sure how this is a sexual innuendo. A posse is slang for a group of friends that hang together. The closest I can come is the "pink helmet" thing, but comparing that to a male's member is really stretching it (plus is not in context enough since it is a girls group). I've been known to have a "gutter" mind at times, but this one really doesn't click as an innuendo with me. Or maybe I'm missing something?
The only reason that skaters hate on scooter kids are younger and don't know as much, or they are less immature but I personally think that scooters are fun if you get the pro ones.
I love this! My little girl is hot and cold with skateboarding but when she is on fire and loving skating she crushes a lot of the boys! Gnarly in pink!🤘
It really pisses me off a lot when most girls these days are just doing guy stuff (skateboarding, longboarding, playing video games, etc..) mostly just to get attention. Nowadays, there are only a few of us girls out there who are actually doing these stuff to actually learn something new and not just be another stereotype to get people's (mostly guys) attention. We need more girls like this three little cuties in the skating community who would really try skating as a hobby and learn new tricks and not just stop learning once they know how to balance on the board.
Actually, guys try to make stuff like football, skateboarding and stuff like that into an all guy thing and then go give girls a hard time about it. I skateboard, I don't do it for guys attention, I just think it's fun!!!! 😑
did you hear Boy Scouts allows girls now? So annoying. I mean girls can skateboard and I have nothing against it but seriously, it’s called BOY SCOUTS for a reason
I am a girl skateboarder and I live in The Bahamas. Most kids here dont skateboard but I find it interesting. We dont have skate parks or anything do my little brother and I get any old wood and make our own ramps and stuff. I love my little brother because he doesnt tease me about being a female skateboarder like the other dudes that do skateboard.
I once was in a skateboarding kind of group with my friends, we skated like pros, we traveled a lot we met pro skaters especially tony hawk. Right now we quit skating, we were sponsored by Nike sb, bone, flip, and thunder trucks. That time was 2014 when we were skating It's sad to quit skating and right now we just sit down and play video games
Girls being badass. One of my favorite things.
I'm a girl and I skateboard and it's really hard to find other girl to skate with and to go to a skate park with

I freakin love skateboarding this was represented and done so well literally the little girl saying she wanted to be a pro is me
The meninists coming in swinging
Chelsea Baker Um, that isn’t a thing...
Chelsea Baker all we're talking about I'd the girl falling and whering a pink skirt
The femibitch coming in swinging
please girls keep skating!!! That is so great!
These girls are cool, because they're being them selves.
nyt have been doing some amazing hiring.
the creative freedoms are paying off.
near bankruptcy turned out to be a good thing.
amazing work.
not a whole lot of skating going on this
Awesomeness! Totally dying to know what the song is starting around 4:35 too...
AØ - Gnarly in Pink
2:58 YESS THAT IS MY KINDA MUSIC!!!!!
Music name in 4:30?
+Chris Martinez Agree
or maybe, just maybe, those girls enjoy doing all of them - -?
This is so cute tho honestly whoever filmed this is so good also this makes me wanna teach my kid when I'm older to skate as I skate myself
5:19 You're welcome
Why
Haha
TMBRises Rekt XD
Lol
TMBRises *OOF*
this short film is straight up BOSS everything KILLED IT heart.
Then you'll see more girls at X-Games :-)
Cute video anyway.
chief wiggums
Why does not wanting to dress in pink and sparkles automatically make you a "bulldyke"? When I was their age my favorite color was black.
Have you forgotten what it is to be a kid? They can wear whatever their creative, little, innocent minds want to wear. Let em be kids.
THE SONG AT THE 4:30 ?
i asked my parents for a skateboard for my 11th birthday and they told me to be more girly
Is it okey for a hardcore dude to like cute stuff
Jalei Oneal What... That's so unfair. So just because at a 50% chance of being a boy and being a girl, you became a girl, means that you have to do 'girly' stuff? I'm a girl and I'm not into nail polish and pink stuff etc. I love unicorns and rainbows, but that's pretty much it. I like longboarding, skateboarding, rock, gaming. :P
your parents are dumb because there is nothing boyish about a skateboard
Jalei Oneal Tell your parents that skating requires grace and you need to make turns and twirl and all that so it requires skill. Isn't something girly something that requires grace? Also, I'm sorry they won't let you have one
Jalei Oneal my mom is the same way my dad got me one when I was 12 and mom got rid of it I just got myself a new one for my 19th bday
Would be nice to see if they are still Skateboarding.
Wish they toned down the costume crap and did more skating
chief wiggums preach it!
+chief wiggums what he meant is that skate don't show off
Real mature
"Pink helmet posse" ... Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this title?
Seriously?!
Aah, i didnt see a sexual innuendo there...so it was probably a genuine mistake.
Char Bear Yeah you're probably right, I still think it would be a good idea to change it though.
I don't get why people dislike videos that aren't even worth disliking because they have nothing to dislike
I don't ride skateboards but I ride roller skates instead, they are really fun but I still like skateboards. What I can't stand are scooter kids
I am a boy just on my sisters account
I also CANT stand "Scooter Kids"!
+Girlgamer225 - Everything yess scooter kids think their cool but they just ride scooters I have been rideing scooters sense I could walk
+BeccaSlays, I ride scooters but stay about of the way and let the other people go before me. I also get annoyed about other little scooter kids
The only reason that skaters hate on scooter kids are younger and don't know as much, or they are less immature but I personally think that scooters are fun if you get the pro ones.
Music at 4:33??
They seriously need to change the name of that group to something else.
I love this! My little girl is hot and cold with skateboarding but when she is on fire and loving skating she crushes a lot of the boys! Gnarly in pink!🤘
chocolate milk makes it better
exactly like me when i was their age. go get em and show them who you are. you girls rock. GIRL POWER
Makes us boys look like criminals. It's not our fault that not as many girls skate.
I have always wanted to learn how to skateboard... I tried a few times with my brothers skateboard but always fell off. I should try again soon!
Girls rule and I'm a boy son
What's the name of the song played at 4:30?
Its defently todd Terje, inspector norse remix! But it sounds s bit diffrent😔😎💕
Thank you
anyone know the music playing at 4:33?
TBH This is why I quit skating.
? Why
ZyLoPhOnE oh
did you hear Boy Scouts allows girls now? So annoying. I mean girls can skateboard and I have nothing against it but seriously, it’s called BOY SCOUTS for a reason
I didn't quit but it so annoying when they just sit around blocking ramps and eating g lunch and standing on their board doing nuthin
a rainbow Fishy Girls should have their own scouts. Unless it's a both genders count thing.
what elbow and knee / wrist pads are they wearing? i bought some recently for my 6 year old, and they did not fit
the reason us boys slam cuz we go fast they go slo
There also little
Nolan Gentry agreed XD
That spelling is atrocious.
Keep to yourself
Men were MADE to be stronger.Of course it’ll take a while
ALGUIEN QUE HABLE ESPAÑOL?
I’m happy these girls are doing this they are very inspiring 💕💪🏽
I'm pretty good at skating I do it all the time and you can learn how to skate u just have to believe in yourself
How long have you been skating for?
I’d like to start but I just don’t wanna be classed as an edgy skater
I can do a few simple tricks
Awesome kids and awesome parents. What a great combination!
Amazingly, sweet clip. Sad and shocking to see the boys' reaction.
That time was 2014 when we were skating
It's sad to quit skating and right now we just sit down and play video games
