- YES THIS IS THE DEMO!!! Before anyone complains. Anyway this is a video of me playing free roam on the demo of Mafia 2 which I recommend everyone to do because this is one of the best games I have ever played, in the demo at least, hence the reason why I have ordered a copy which is out on the 27th August in the UK. The point of this video is to encourage other people to buy this game hence the reason I did what any sane person would do...go on a rampage! :) Enjoy!

the world was very immersive yeah but story was a confusing mess and not enough variety in gameplay

Zen what?? the story was great, the shooting mechanics were the only thing I disliked about Mafia II. Also, I’d say they could’ve def done more with the free roam aspect, but it’s still a game with surprisingly high replay value.
It's your lucky year, they're remastering this along with a mafia 1 remake!

This isn't a big big old map, but the atmosphere of it it feels so alive this is probably one of my childhood maps
I loved playing this on PS3 as the trial back in 2010. I never got the full game till now on PS4 remastered. I love it so far

I'm obsessed with the 1950s! The music the style the movies they're all amazing! Would this be a good game for me? I also love open world games like gta and fallout

I'm also obsessed with the 40s and 50s! And let me tell you, you can't find a better game than this! I replay this game twice almost every year and it never gets old! Just take your time, take it slow and enjoy it. Mind the details, the architecture, the color palette, the cars, the advertiement billboards, the music and the story. It is simply a masterpiece.
Mafia 2 isnt a Open World game really though. Theres virtually nothing to do outside of the Story other than exploring, Driving and going on rampages. It has the same issues as Grand Theft Auto 3 really.

Cars aren’t cars, they’re lumps of plastic designed to get us from A - B as efficiently as possible.
Don’t get me started on the music. Oh how i despise the music.

I loved every Mafia game and DLC, 1 because of the dialouges, Characters and Story, 2 Because of the gameplay, story, graphics and Character Dialouges and 3 because of the Gameplay and Graphics

The Freeroam in this game sucked. It was really limited and boring, you couldn't do anything more than missions

The game wasn’t meant for you to free roam after beating the game it was made only for the story but if you wanted free roam you could have bought the Jimmy’s vendetta or Betrayal dlc or joes adventure if you want to free roam in the city

Is the open world good? Like are there things to do in it like side quest and random encounters? Or is it just there for the atmosphere like in L.A Noire?
Definitely going to get a PS3 and just to play this game brings back memories it was funny as fuck playing this game high or drunk LMAO I also remember going around robbing the gun stores and it was fun because it was challenging with the cops I would eventually get killed

What I did was, I gathered 100 000$ and all the ISW 508, in the garage, with all the boost, went to Harrys and bought all the weapons and ammo. Than Mission where you need to look for Joe after gathering money for eddy, the part where you have to get to Giuseppe, that's where I free roam and fight cops for 30 min while blowing up cars.

Naah DLC's were too repetitive/boring anyways. There was a community made mod called Friends For Life it was the real freeroam for Mafia II you were able to enter everywhere and you can take goons with you.

i hav a question. I just got the game and, as every mafia 2 owner knows, its takes place in the winter at the beginning. When i shoot someone, no blood puddles form or no blood falls to the floor. Im still on chapter 3 and no blood! Is that normal? Do i hav 2 beat a few more missions?

well, Vito, the main character, was born in the 1920s. So close, i guess
original mafia is set in 1933-1938 Mafia 2 1945-1951

Mostafa El Nahas Probably not. But since he was about 30 when most of the game takes place, in the 50's, that's when I'm guessing he was born.
