probably the best album opening track ever made, I remember when this album came out, I pressed play and suddenly this song hits me with such strength and power, I wasn't even ready for it, whatever it was
The best and most hard hitting part, 1:20 I found God clutching a razor blade He said "Look at the fucking mess they've made They'd trade their hearts if they were made of gold."
In case this is your first time hearing this album, I'll get the obvious out of the way. These crazy motherfuckers ACTUALLY fucking topped LF//LT. Thank you, Architects. Album gets 9 BLEGHS! out of 10.
I heavily disagree with you on this album topping LF//LT. While this is a much HEAVIER release than LF/LT, it doesn't have as much thought out songwriting has LF//LT did. It's not as catchy and memorable as that album either, but that's mostly because #1 they're continuing the similar sound of LF//LT in this album and #2 their ideas on how to write individual unique standout songs while using this sound is starting to wear a bit thin (take a look at songs like "Phantom Hourglass" and "From The Wilderness", you may think that those songs are catchy and stand out right now but try listening to them 10 years later and tell me that those songs aren't just filler). Regardless of that, this album is still a fucking fantastic disc and actually makes 2016's metalcore a bit less depressing so I got to give them props for doing their best to help prevent metalcore from becoming a 100% complete joke of a metal sub-genre.
+Mariano Laferte LF//LT definitely has a couple VERY heavy songs, but not as many as the ones from AOGHAU. Broken Cross and CANCER are definitely two perfect examples of how brutal Architects can be in LF//LT, but then you get songs like Colony Collapse and A Distant Blue to a certain extent which have a lighter feel to them. Even Gravedigger and Castles In The Air don't really come close to being a heavy as songs like Nihilist or Gravity. Or maybe I'm wrong, who knows. They all sound pretty similar to me in the end.
I've followed this band since Sam first joined the band and they have consistently gotten better and better with time. Whenever I think they can't possibly top their latest release they come out with a new masterpiece that absolutely conquers it. Truly geniuses at their craft.
