    Really pretty. 6 Superduos seems to make a pretty fat rope. Assuming the tech can be done with 4 or 5 beads around without too much problem. TFS!

      Absolutely! Fits together just fine. Its makes a stunning bracelet when you use a contrasting bead for a spiral effect.

  • @AprilDesignsSMD

    You should start putting a link to your shop and materials, with a list of the materials in the description area of the videos, that would be so cool. Other than that, very cool tutorial. You've got a new follower :D

    I love this but when holding the beads, I wish there was a close up of the step up and turn around when the beads are cupped.

    • @hautelikecajenn
      @hautelikecajenn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quick Tip : After the 1st step up, count out your beads for the next row and you will know to step up with the last one. Also, the last bead and the step bead will be close together. Hope that helps.

  • @AprilDesignsSMD

    How many of those 6" tubes of superduos would you need to finish a necklace?

    • @OntheRocksGallery
      @OntheRocksGallery  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It takes about 2 1/2 tubes with the clasp and cones that I used at 18 inches long. So 3 tubes will give you enough to make whatever length you might want.

  • @chrisroberts6043
    @chrisroberts6043 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How are you supposed to keep the tension on the thread? The pressure on the sides is what makes it keep it's shape? I can't keep it that tight.

    • @OntheRocksGallery
      @OntheRocksGallery  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like to hold the rope in my left hand while adding beads with my right to control the tension. Just before I do the step up I roll the rope between my fingers to eliminate any slack. Pull the thread snug just before you turn around for the next row, but be careful not to pull too hard.

  • @Halimarah
    @Halimarah 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    a zoom in the step would have done the tutorial well, so I had to try very often, until the beads sat well. Superduos are not as easy to process as seed beads. Nevertheless, thanks for the beautiful video.

  • @christinewitton6204

    Unfortunately the link to the details on the spiral pattern is broken. Could it be re-linked. Also can the necklace be done so that you incorporate the 6 bead section in the middle and the four bead on either side to make a graduated thickness necklace? How would this be done?

    • @OntheRocksGallery
      @OntheRocksGallery  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for bringing that to my attention Christine. I have fixed that link. There may be a way to make a graduated version, but I have never tried that. Dropping a SuperDuo on a round would leave an orphan in the previous row. Perhaps going to mini duos instead would be easier!

    Do you no longer sell beads?

  • @girijaswamy1038
    @girijaswamy1038 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    A question please - no matter how firm I pull the thread; it still shows ? what do I do ? TKU

    • @OntheRocksGallery
      @OntheRocksGallery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Assuming you are stepping up and turning around as shown in the video, the turn around could make it difficult to snug up your work. Make sure that you snug up the thread for the row just before the turn around. If its still loose after the turn around, pull the thread between the bottom and top hole of the Duo that you turned around before pulling the thread from the needle. That should tighten the thread enough.
      Hope that helps -

    • @OntheRocksGallery
      @OntheRocksGallery  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you need to make it wider, you can try going to 8 beads around. At some point, you may find that it flattens out a bit, just depends on your tension.

    • @OntheRocksGallery

      Twin beads work, but you will get a flatter tube - must be a slight difference in the size of the beads.
