I was v.pleased to come across the Deliciously Ella deli near Selfridges. It's a lovely place, intimate and unpretentious. I was allowed to sample several dishes (from the salad bowls) at a v.reasonable price. Well, sitting on a bench in Berkeley sq., what a revelation! The food was exquisite. I didn't know that salads could taste that good. When the coronovirus travel ban lifts, and this gorgeous place reopens, I can't wait to revisit this place.
Ella, I found this so interesting, you are such an intelligent and inspirational women. I too am very passionate about nutrition, I'm not vegan but I do eat lots of fruit and veg, sometimes 10 - 15 portions a day. Ok I do fall off the wagon sometimes and eat 🍫 chocolate! 😁 But like you I went through a bad time where mentally I know I was deprived off essential nutrients for the brain. And after radically changing my diet and eating fruit, veg especially green veg, nuts seeds, fish and seafood. It made a remarkable difference to my well being. And also my skin, hair, nails and physical health transformed as well. Loved this video and love your story. I think everyone could start to make small changes at any age if you want to benefit your own health.x 😄
I would have commended Ella if she were to frame her story in slightly more accurate terms: she is the daughter of a politician and heiress of a supermarket chain i.e. acknowledge her privilege. Her husband is the son of a very prominent politician. Her illness is broadly accepted to be something people generally grow out of. Great that she has turned it into something of a lucrative business but hardly 'struggling to keep the lights on' as she explicitly says...
I understand your point, and tbh think it's staring most people in the face that aspect of privilege (on several fronts). She did the work tho, and well by some accounts. I can tell you as someone who has suffered from ME/CFS for almost 15 years now since my early 20s, it is not a trivial illness that you can just grow out of or one that makes anything more than a minor improvement from diet. It is a serious at times life threatening condition with widespread neurological and immune components, that is currently ruining around 250k people lives in the UK, and suffers from appalling neglect, bad press and misunderstanding. If anyone reading this would like to find out more about the crisis for people with ME/CFS, I'd recommend the netflix documentary 'Unrest' or the UK produced documentary 'Voice from the Shadows'. vimeo.com/ondemand/22513 th-cam.com/video/JvK5s9BNLzA/w-d-xo.html&vl=en
@@stevejhkhfda I was referring to POTS rather than CFS as that is the illness she explicitly states caused her initial ill health...I wish you well in managing your ME/CFS.
I agree that she had several legs up but she still pulled herself out of a terrible emotional and physical place by focusing on something positive and putting major efforts into it. It does sound sometimes like she went from one extreme to another and I do hope her business is never penalized if she relaxes on that front but she has proven how well you can live without consuming meat and additives etc. For sure money made it easier to try all that but there are many ppl with money who don’t accomplish what she has which is a testament to her character and intentions.
Not going to lie, but I feel like the vegan diet really has gripped culture and I’m starting to believe it’s definitely not natural... I see all these vegans years after they’ve went vegan and they look, dare I say it, aged! They aren’t getting healthy needed nutrients from animal products and it’s sad to see... veganism isn’t healthy or natural for humans. Many people don’t even have the ability to properly take plant products and are experiencing IBS, bloat, food allergies and intolerances. These are all on a rise. I’ve never felt better eating mainly animal products, everyone says how young I look, I have tonnes of energy, I’m not obsessed with food, it’s great! Don’t let vegans fool you, do your own research :)
Why such a bitter tone in response? If I’m so wrong, what’s the problem with me speaking? Let people read my comment and do their own research :) I wasn’t say veganism would kill you, it’s just not the optimal level of health in my opinion based on my research. And I’d happily kill animals for food, just because I can get it pre killed doesn’t make it unnatural. I could argue the same about buying already grown for you fruit and veg, a lot that’s grown unnaturally out of season, and shipped across the world so we are all eating non-native produce. I personally choose to not eat out of season, non-native (locally produced and killed) fruit veg and meat. It probably makes me a lot more environmentally conscious than the vegans in England eating an avocado a day, disconnected from the fact that is killing the environment.! Veganism only works in modernity because of human manipulation to produce and ship fruit and veg out of season and all variety’s so it’s possible to meet a degree of nutrition requirements. But that’s so unnatural. Humanity has never been like that. We eat based on the food locally available. Grass fed and finished meat has all the nutrients needed for humans to optimally thrive on and is more bioavailable to us than plant nutrients. I’m not dissing vegans at all, each to their own, in fact I think each human thrives on different diets! I’m not militant at all; your reply is obnoxious, militant, close minded and rude. You’ve made yourself just look too emotional. But would have been an interesting chat if you were actually well-mannered. Good bye :)
Hahaha! Where have you been? She’s been around for a while now that’s for sure. I’m someone who couldn’t tell you who’s who but I do know who Deliciously Ella is.
I totally agree on the vegan plant based label. To say your a vegan seems cranky because so many are unkind and off putting rather than encouraging and helpful. That sounds unfair to the many helpful vegans out there but I’m afraid it’s the cranky ones that are doing the damage to their movement and of course are not actually doing the animals any favours either.
such an inspiring, positive, nice, down-to-earth, hard working person ! thanks for sharing

Love her so much. Thank you so much for such nice inspiring words ❤
Wonderfully engaging, humble and insightful. Loved this and don't understand the hate whatsoever.
Perfectly presented and well-researched answers, keep going plant strong Ella!

@@brazaq1 fair enough, although I wouldnt trivialise POTS either but thanks for the well wishes and to you. I think I understand your main point.

You cannot change from where you are born, what you do WITH your life is a sign of character.
You sound jealous.
That's actually my name Ellamills
I'd prefer to take my healthy eating advice from somebody who is not dependent on that advice to make commercial gain.
Ella you’re slightly nuts but I like you 🫶🩵💛😅
Ok
She looks like Lana Rhoades.
I can't see it

I don’t know why people feel the need to be disrespectful just because you disagree.
No one has heard of this woman. Completely unremarkable.
