The 10 minutes+ coverage onTV1 news last night was insane. It is clear that NZ MSM are essentially the Labour/Greens press office.

TVNZ needs completely rebuilding. Our TV Channel should be the go to place for truthful and unbiased news of current affairs and political commentary. But TV 1 has been taken over by Left Wing political commentators and woke current affairs presenters. A vast majority have voted by using their on/ off switch which shows their contempt for that which is being offered by TVNZ. The public have no say regarding our own TV 1 and our cowardly Politicians refuse to act on the public’s behalf. No wonder the country is in such a mess
We should get rid of it completely. If we want to give NZ media a hand up we could reduce the tax on ALL NZ media.

Have the debate somewhere other than a University which are no longer places of reason and debate. Try a church for example.
you need to require every Chancellor of a university to provide the government with a written plan on how to get their University to improve their standing in the world university academic rankings in order to keep their job and get their public funding. This is needed because ALL of our universities are sliding academic rankings very dramatically, have done for years, and the slide is accelerating not slowing down. we need to stop the wokeness from the top.

These universities are really getting on my nerves. I might okay with central government defunding them. Do you want woke judges and lawyers and politicians with views like that running the country in a decade or two? I don't.

I thought the main purpose of Universities were about students passing exams and getting a qualification that would help with job prospects. Yes there has always been a radical leftie/ socialist element on Uni campuses but in the past students who disagreed could give their views through free speech and debates.Not anymore.

I can, they shut the country down, most of us running small businesses were offered feeble sums as compensation whilst the larger companies got massive handouts. They used these to buy competition and consolidate, increasing market share and monopolising entire industries, literally overnight. Most of us people who ran these smaller businesses lost all our customers to these monopolies, without these customers, we went under. Get it now?

I think after a crap government for 6 years, a little bit of blame is appropriate.
@namrepusprime6793 Yes having NZ First as part of the government 2017-2020 was not of a benefit to NZ they may delayed progress before covid 19.
( remember labour was only the government for 3 years 2020 to 2023).
Our inflation is falling due Labour and the reserve bank ( dual mandate) as predicted in September 2023. The new government has done nothing in 6 months to increase its decline.
