I'm just finishing up welding school and I promise I will NOT be this guy when I look for a job. Humility is a rare virtue these days. Among the younger guys in my class this overconfidence seems to be a pervasive affliction.
It seems that everyone gets a big head when they can weld test plates. Real world is not the same as test plates. Theres many types of welding and i recommend a job shop to learn fab. Without it youre just another welder that can only weld
You are right. That's bout how it is now. Most of the young bucks I've seen lately couldn't even be called green horns. Show up saying they know how to weld and then come to find out they took shop in highschool for 1 semester and can't do basic math. Hell most of em can't read a tape measure...
Not sure he can afford to hire such a accomplished welder. Cost to much to pay for that 'experience'(and paying to replace any materials he blessed with such high quality beads)
