I love controller, I can't wait for them to introduce so you can use both at the same time mouse for inventory management and controller for gameplay. Controller is so much better for my wrists.

Make sure nothing else is bound to the pick up button, so you can use it while in combat too. If you have a skill bound to the same button it wont let you pick up stuff while in combat
I bind pick up item to LT + A and make sure the hand icon is bound to that with nothing else. You can also scroll through items with the right thumb stick.
I lmao when you set your skills I had the same exact issue setting my skills, the controls they chose for setting points are not very intuitive, I also set my controller action button to Y because using an attack and action button on A sometimes leads to you trying to attack but you keep on picking up loot and when your inventory is full it becomes a loop of picking up the same item over and over while your just trying to attack, this leads to some very stressful situations 😅, also it stops you picking up random rubbish loot, and finally Mr POEguy lols if you want the full controller experience I would recommend using the controller to search poe trade and do a trade with the controller, you will say f my life several times trying to preform this simple task with a controller lols, Thanks for showing some love to the controller community POEguy. And unfortunately as a xbox player we do not get a loot filter yet which is a pain i have gone back on my maps and found exaulted orbs, jewelers orbs, chaos orbs it really slows down the game having to stop and read everything but it is early access and im sure on release console players will get that much needed loot filter, im so jealous of you pc loot filter guys atm 😂.
Ye that was my plan and im now 88 whole campain on controller with warbringer, thanks to your guides it was fun and easy. My recommendation take off A button skill leave it for pick up button
Said it in one of your previous videos, wasd feels much better on the controller. Feels the gameplay was made for controller. Also something missing is the show/hide rearrange dropped loot (z on keyboard) that you cannot do on controller for now. Also with a good loot filter you pickup items very fast. Switched to controller 2 weeks ago, and I’m not coming back.
A helpful tip. Make sure you open the game thru steam first. At the top right of the steam page is a kind of console version of steam. after selecting, it will give you an option to use a keyboard for your controller for players that don't like getting up to type on their PC.
the pickup isn't bugged. controller was design to not look while in combat. so stop those totems first. It's design that way so you won't accidentally pickup while fighting coz that's more frustrating.. you can override sa loot though, stand beside the loot and move the right joystick so you can highlight the items near you.
Untrue. You can remove keybind on x(if Playstation) a(if xbox/pc) and it loots and shows items while in combat. Another way to do it is bind the use to that key but it is a tad less responsive than not having any keybind

You can't pick up stuff if you've bound a skill to the same button as the interact button (A). You need to unbind the skill. Hopefully GGG will stop allowing double-binding as it means newbies think it's impossible to play with controller.

has the game implemented seamless switching from controller to kb/mouse yet? it desperately lacked this when I played! every modern arpg (even D2R) has that functionality.
I can't play PoE 2 any other way now....love my controller. But my goodness I need inventory management with my mouse and keyboard so I log out so I can switch when I need to do such.
I play on XboxSX and say that on the controller is convenient only to run and use skills, all the rest is pure misery, especially without loot filter support which has not been introduced
