2:00 I hear ya!! My wild yard/ garden was looking fantastic. I was harvesting the wild lettuce and dandelion leaf. Then my neighbor blessed me by mowing it, she cut it so short, I don't think the reminants will recover. I was shocked when I came home from work, it was all gone, I was to the point of tears. I hav since accepted it and thanked her for her kindness. YAHUAH will provide more and I'll be ok. HalleluYAH!!
At this point my city yard is my natural classroom. It wasn't in disarray, just tall. I kindly thanked my neighbor even though it was hard and I know YAH will provide for me in the future.
I came across skullcap in a tea made by Yogi out of Eugene Oregon. The tea is called bedtime. Skullcap is listed in the 4 position of ingredients. I have been drinking the tea every night before bed and it works like a dream. I use 2 bags now after a few years. Now I add dried skullcap to my tea cup along with the tea bags. I am growing skullcap in my garden. You see my mind is not quiet, music always playing in my head. I thank our Lord for showing me skullcap. I sleep soundly, wake up to use the bathroom then right back to sleep. Mind stays quiet. In the morning I wake up fine, not groggy or druggy.
Justin I ordered some skull cap a few years ago and I couldn’t get it to grow for me. This is a great video on medicine. This is one of the best videos you have done with the beautiful slides and beautiful music. Thank you so much. Please go back over some of your older plants as I love them.I’m going to go look by the river tomorrow to see if I can find the skullcap growing here. I’m planning on gathering stinging nettle tomorrow also. I am ordering the book you showed today as I do not have it yet and I will order through your link. As I did the boots you reviewed and btw I love my boots!
I got another company wanting to send me boots and they have a shoe that resembles a rubber moccasin i wanted to try out so i gotta do another boot review but im gonna do more plant videos because i enjoy it
A good tick repellent is powdered sulfur if your not allergic to it. In my younger days hunting in Florida we would buy a 2lb bag at the beginning of hunting season. Put the sulfur around britches legs and around the waist it repells ticks and redbugs. You may already know this. I enjoy your medicinal plant videos.
I love learning about the beneficial plants that God has placed around me, as well. There’s so much natural, herbal medicine around us, that is ours for the picking!
Really good video. I see a lot of people who arent talking enough about proper identification. You do great with the Latin names, and using them is key so people from different regions are talking about the same plant. I really appreciate your combination of down-to-earth and careful research. Quickly becoming one of my top herbalist channels, and even if i go back and look at older videos, i never mind an update. There is always more to learn. Always.
There are so many plants i find it impossible on a wide variety to memorize everything and act like you just know it. I go through all my books because every plant is not in every book and find which book seems to cover it best and read from it. But i love books in gereral and it gives me a chance to use them.
@@SpiritoftheOutdoors the only way to memorize, in my experience, is to focus on a narrow parameter. Example: in school i had to identify and memorize the names and characteristics of about 200 plants, but they were ALL ornamental plants that would work in landscapes in my region. It was hard, and thats pretty narrow considering how many plants exist in nature. There is no way for a normal human to memorize or know all plants in a region. Owning ghecreferences, and knowing how to use them is key. Not just an app, but actual books that can work through the taxonomy so somebody can tell Queen Anne's Lace from Water Hemlock. You are doing it right. Would love to see your pottery someday. Meantime, Im here for your videos. 😊
Great video!!! I'm trying to learn more about the uses and benefits of all the plants that grow wild here in western Kentucky. I just ordered the Southeast Medicinal Plants book from your link. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this I live in Arkansas on a mountain middle of nowhere and so many wilderness plants some I know a lot I don't. U don't wonder off too far due to being disabled and the 🐻ifix sasaifi tea tho! Thank you God bless you google don't know everything!
@@SpiritoftheOutdoors I recently learned that green sweet gum balls contain the same chemical that is present in Tamiflu. It’s about 40% strength of tamiflu. you crush them and tincture in pure grain alcohol. Will help reduce severity and duration of flu like Tami flu.
Brother I have scullcap growing in the yard. And ticks and skitters bad.yea you have to tell these numb skulls that you ain't no doctor and aren't prescribing any thang. It's you tube that does that crap with cancelling good channels. When I started this I found a local book for my area. Central Alabama. That the big guys selling meds don't like us knowing this knowledge

Good day to talk a walk and look for plants. Roscoe is already practicing squirrel hunting. He knows he has got to get in shape before season.
