    The folks back in the UK would be quite amazed by the sheer size of our country. Watching this video would give them a pretty good idea of what it's like.

      I think you’re right, you really can’t imagine how big Australia is until you start doing big trips 👍😊

    Great channel. Love watching your adventures. Do you travel with your water tanks alwats full. Or travel with what is in your tanks. Do you use one tank before the other. I only see you filling up with fuel.
    Safe travels.

      Thank you so much. Sometimes we’re full but other times it’s just what we’ve got left. We look on the WikiCamps app of where people say you can get water and decide if we need to fill up, if we’ve got some in the tank and we know we’re going to pass through a few towns then we travel light but if it doesn’t look like there’s many places then we fill right up just in case there’s no where to get water. Safe travels 😊

    Great video team ..One question please….Where do you get your water 💦 when not on a caravan park

      Sorry we’ve just seen this, TH-cam held it for review for some reason. A lot of towns do provide free water stations, some charge a small fee 👍

    20 years ago i had a job driving where i would often do up to 2600 klms over night and up to 600 during the day

      @turtletrackstravels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow! That’s a lot of Kms! Did you mean 260 overnight as you put 2600 lol 😂

      @@turtletrackstravels yes i would travel from late morning or early afternoon to early morning the next day, the only breaks from driving was to boil the kettle and make a cup of coffee

      Hi Katy, Gary is a carpenter and joiner and I am a relief teacher. We have lots of contacts in Brisbane, Gary just rang his old firm and got work straight away and I just have to go online and say I’m available (my teacher registration is only for QLD), 👍

    I am planning a trip around Australia. I have some question if you care to answer. How far do you travel a day on average? How far do you travel between rest brakes and how long do you rest?

    • @turtletrackstravels
      @turtletrackstravels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Normally, we try not to drive longer then 5 hours but we have put a couple of big days in (8hours) because we just wanted to keep going…. It just depends on what you want to see along the way (sometimes there may not be too much you want to see and you just want to get to your planned destination)…. Time for rest is an individual thing, sometimes you may just stop for 10mins and sometimes it’s an hour. 👍😊

      @@turtletrackstravels Thanks I ask the question because I am thinking about a EV Ute and it would take about 1 hour to charge on a EV fast charger 2 hour to on 415v 8 hour on 240V and 3 days on vehicle roof to solar. The issue is finding the power. I know it would be easy to just get a diesel but I would like the challenge. I suspect I would only be able to 300km a day as most EV ute only have a 350km range before requiring charging although the F150 ev can get up to 515 km. It will be at least 4 years until I do this though. With the rate of improvement in EV tec there may be a ute with 1000 km by then and a few more EV Fast chargers on the root. Love You video.

      @freethinker4991 Hopefully, by the time you go there will be more charging points because we can’t remember seeing any in the outback garages, so definitely do lots of research before you go on where to charge (some of these garages even run out of diesel, we heard that sometimes people have to wait a week to get fuel. In the outback as soon as ours got to half a tank we would look for fuel and some areas we would just refuel even if we didn’t need much in case the next fuel stop didn’t have any) 😍

      Hi Dennis, once we’re up to speed on the highway, we do go into 5th, otherwise the revs are too high 👍

      @turtletrackstravels yeah, copy.. 3 days ago I bought the 2017 gear box, Cross over pipe & 1300 NM clutch combo. My Ute is pre DPF. Expensive toy but hoping it will tow alright with bigger injectors & turbo plus intercooler. Happy travelling. I drive various road trains.. West Australia. Cheers for the feed back. 👍

    How do you know what radio channel to use?

    • @turtletrackstravels
      @turtletrackstravels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We stick on channel 40 because most people seem to be on that, think there’s other numbers for certain activities, such as 4X4 tracks…. We just google it 👍😊
