I get. so. FUCKING. ANGRY. when people refer to my lobes as "gauges." People who know me really well, when they say gauges by mistake they always look at petrified because they know I'm about to lose my shit.

LittleRoseThorn Gauge is the sizing term, it just depends on what your jewelry is to know what it's called. There are tapers which are the solid pieces with the long points, there are tunnels which are the hollow pieces of jewelry, there are solid flat pieces which are plugs and so it's just really about the types of jewelry you have in your ears, and even then, some of those have other names you can refer to as well, that's just a basic just of it. For any who might not understand gauging, it's how big the piece of jewelry will be or how thick it was pierced, it isn't a length thing. So the smaller the number, the thicker the jewelry will be.

anatametal is my favorite, sadly where I live not many piercing places offer good quality jewelry and most customers don't know the difference between cheap crap you can get at hot topic vs actual quality jewelery :/ on the bright side it's only only a 2 hour drive to the wonderful Pangea Piercing ^.^

im a huge fan of anatometal as well, however i prefer the odyssey clickers from industrial strength for my septum (i have a white and a black opal one and they are both flawless).
i think it’s very important to invest in high quality stuff and i would never ever put any cheap crap into my body

I have such a hard time finding labret jewelry that has stones that are circular and 3mm. I love the classic round ball look i originally got but I've been struggling finding stone rounded ones.

Stud and horseshoe are normal ways to describe the jewelry where "gauges" is not AT ALL! gauge is a size not a reference to stretched ears...

I absolutely love your jewelry! Opals are my favorite! I have anatometal jewelry in my industrial, vertical industrial, conch, a 12g rook, daith, 3 lobe piercings to make a cluster, chest dermals, 4 bullet ends for my nipple barbells and also an s-cluster in my helix. I have a trinity in my tragus from neometal, and industrial strength nostril screws in both sides of my nose, and also an opal industrial strength clicker for my septum. I love how passionate you are about you apprenticeship and good quality jewelry! I am the same way! I Just started my piercing apprenticeship at the end of November and it is going absolutely amazing! I was wondering how long ago did you get your high nostrils done?

Seriously. SO many people don't understand how important sizing is. I've had my septum pierced for over FIVE years, and have still yet to "love" a piece of jewelry because I apparently have a teeny tiny face and EVERYTHING I get (mostly CBR or clickers) is too long and bounces off my upper lip, which looks ridiculous and I couldn't find cute jeweled balls in a 3mm, it was mostly 5 or 6 and they were bigger than my nostril... I also ended up losing my industrial because I'm pretty sure I needed a 1 1/8th inch barbell and I just could find one. The 1 1/4 was what I was pierced with and it was huge once the swelling went down and snagged on everything it could. But the 1" was too short/tight. -.- Then it got ripped out in a pit so I have an 18g Helix and a funny dent in the front side.
For your septum, have you tried wearing a 1/4 size ring?
Yeah. I've been keeping a horseshoe ring that size in and its okay, but most of the clickers still seem a bit large. I thought about sizing down to the 16g and having smaller, thinner jewelry, but my septum was pierced really high up so then I may run into an issue of things being too short.
My piercing hole is too big for septum clickers )): I hate it so much ughhhh

Your really pretty :3 I have pierced all of my things and it's all good first I thought I was stupid when I pieced my own ear and ear rim but that went well and I got addicted piercing and I have now done my navel, shark bites, tongue, septum and nostril and I done my own dermal which was terrifying but it didn't hurt that much and yeah I still think I was stupid but nothing got infected at all and I don't not recommend ANYONE doing their own piercings it's just when I get bored I got to extremes... Did I also mention I'm 14... Yeeaaahh

Wow, was it hard to get the labret jewelry into your high nostril piercings? I (miraculously) put labret jewelry in my nose piercing, but it is way lower and is still a pain in the ass!
I recently got my belly button peirced and they gave me a HUGE bar. They insisted I keep this bar for 6 months so I listened and it kept flipping down and getting caught on everything. Finally I went to another place and they basically put an eyebrow bar in there lol I'm really tiny so yeah. Thank you for realizing that people aren't one size fits all! :)
Basically the bar was so long and got caught so much that it wouldnt heal and since I kept injuring it pretty much daily it started moving and coming to the surface more. Hoping the small bar will fix my problem. It seems to be healing finally!
