As example he didn’t even bother to change youtube’s captions for the Attack of the dead men because there’s no point in that.

I listened to both versions, the original and cover by Sabaton. I can speak and read russian well enough to understand the original. And i must say.... Sabaton version falls flat. It missed the point of the lyrics, at least in my opinion. Tapok's version is focused more on the people who sacrificed their life in the battle that was effectively their last chance. Granted, those were 2 utterly horrible systems fighting, BUT Tapok's version focuses more on the regular soldiers and the stupendous effort that was put into this "last chance" battle. The fact that most of those young men went there, like it or not, as cannon fodder. "Regiments march to die". As sung in original lyrics "Homeland will never forget you! No place to retreat, Moscow's behind us! (...) Their memory will be in our hearts for centuries!" Wehereas cover lyrics focus on bland "follow orders, shoot the nazis, be good soldier, this is badass" approach. Also including the national anthem in solo breach is simply "cheap" in my opinion.

Despite the fact I'm russian I must admit Sabaton's version more epic, and vocal has more "meat" more rude manly voice, don't get me wrong, Tapok's voice is awesome, but Sabaton's voice is a voice of of legends of all epic battles, pure power fuel when you hit the gym.
