For almost a month, I was having issues with my vehicle's AC unit not cooling. lately, I would be sitting down on a Walmart parking lot sweating bullets because the AC fan was just blowing warm air. Then I saw your video on the section on hosing down the condenser coil of the AC unit. So, I rushed to Home Depot and purchased a hose and a brass nozzle. Came back home and got the hose ready for the AC condenser coil hose down event. Once I finished the hosing process, I took the vehicle for a spin. Guess what! The cooling feature of the AC unit was completely restored. I came back home with a smile on my face enjoying the cold temperature in my vehicle. Thank you Miss A1 Auto Repairs for sharing your expertise through this video with the TH-cam community.
Sue from 1A auto does a really good job explaining how things work and knows what she’s doing. I feel that this would help people not only work on their own car. This specific video also can help those individuals who want to do HVAC and help get their HVAC License.
Echoing the sentiment of others... can we have more videos with her?? I'm loving the no-nonsense, straightforward and easy-to-understand approach! The healthy shot of "don't get screwed" helps too 😉 Thank you!
I think this women is one of the best if not the best in the business. She really knows how to explain these things in a way that anyone can understand. I don't know what kind of money she makes but whatever it is, its not enough because she is awsome. Give her a raise guys and have a seat and listen you might learn something.
This... this is a master at work. I felt like I got a world class education on something that I have been trying to figure out for the last 2 years on my car and now I can potentially solve this myself. Thank you!
Thanks for the lectures, i wish i can pay you for this but I'm a poor African technician self employed and I'm a father of two daughters working in the streets in Douala Cameroon. I had a problem recharging a porsche cayenne but I'm very optimistic that I'll fix it tomorrow from what I've learnt. Thank you so much
Thank you so much. I live in West Texas and it's already hot this morning, but I sprayed out the condenser with garden hose AC now working better than ever.
This video helped me. Thank you! Refrigerant was full but completely blowing warm air. I cleaned the condenser with water spray and that solved the problem. Blowing cold air like when it was new!
Thanks ever so much, we did a new compressor install and couldn't figure out why it was still going hot. The fan was the problem.your procedure gave us the answer. 2004 dodge ram 1500 5.7.
Extremely great advice! One easy thing to do is to rinse the front with a garden hose. I CAN DO THAT. My apartment has a car valet concierge where we can wash our cars for free if we wish. There is a weak hose attached to it. Some small trucks, who are non residents come by and use it too. Good way to save big bucks. ❤🌸
AC blowing hot? First check to see if your coolant level is normal. I had no AC and my friend told me to check the coolant level. He said that if the level is low, the computer will not allow the AC to blow because it would stress the engine too much and overheat it. Sure enough, the level was low. I added about a half gallon of coolant and wouldn't you know it, the AC blew COLD again. And yes, I did figure out where I had lost the coolant. Pin hole in a hose.
Yes cause with the ac pump on it puts a small drag on the engine you can really feel it going up hills engine gotta rev much higher why when I go up a hill I turn the ac off for couple seconds makes it much easier on the engine. I’d also recommend shorting your oil changes when it’s AC season cause the engine works little harder with that ac pump and the oil could become more degraded faster. I do 4,000 oil changes in the summer 5000 too 6000 in winter when I’m not using AC
Here's a great tip to all reading my comment. In the vehicle that is shown here - The openess of the Condenser coil is relativity easy to access . The greatest thing you can do to keep your coil clean 99% of the time is to put a window screen in front of the coil itself. A screen about the same size of the condenser itself is all you need , it must be in a frame double layered. This in tern will keep the debris out and the Bugs out of the fins Thus keeping your air flow to the Maximum potential. This in turn also will help keep your cooling system in good shape and you'll have less chance of over heating due to a plugged condenser coil... Most of the vehicles like Dodge - Ford - GM have great access and open space. Then all you have to do from time to time is easy maintenance and brush the screen clean to maintain maximum air flow. My F250 being a 2008 has this when I bought the truck and it has been a Must have feature - that all vehicles should have...

Wow excelente, I’ve been arguing with my self about my car thinking it’s this and that. And with watching this video I’ll try them all to find out why my car ac stopped blowing cold air even though I recharge it a month ago. I hope it’s just one that you just mentioned.
I love how the car showed in the beginning of the video is the exact one I'm having so many A/C issues with, I audibly laughed when I saw her pop the hood to an Enclave 😂😂
Little things wrong here. The AC system works like the coolant in your engine it absorbs the heat and dissipates it out side the car. The condenser is what dissipates the heat and the fans help do that. Not all systems have receiver dryers if you have an expansion valve you’ll have a receiver dryer on the high side line if you have an orifice tube you’ll have an accumulator on the low side line. Not all AC systems cycle the compressor older cars it’s just on or off no cycling.
Lol, some of the male comments.... The neighbors all like to do the same thing when I'm out fixing a car or a bike. Last week their eyes almost exploded in their skulls when I pulled out an impact wrench and knew how to use it. This chick knows what she's doing. Stupid comments just are YOU look bad.
What causes the compressor not cycle off and on during operation? I just put a new compressor, condenser, drier, evaporator and expansion valve. Pressure is good and ac is cold but not icy cold. I have a 2007 civic hybrid. Thanks!
Thank you for the video, good info. What happens if a system is full, compressor is good and system blowing warm after few minutes. Should you recommend check compressor clutch or expansion valve.
Over the last few days, I refilled the AC and it was only going down to 80 (100° outside) in the heat of the afternoon, The next morning it was cold but a few hours later it was back to 80 (at least it's colder than the 100° outside). My next guess is the condenser clogged?
The condenser fan does not cool the refrigerant. You have to understand the refrigeration cycle. The condenser fan removes the heat from the evaporator and condenses the refrigerant vapor back into a liquid so that it may go through the orifice tube or expansion device and flash so that it may turn back into a low pressure saturated refrigerant mix and evaporate to cool the car inside through the evaporator. Latent heat from the refrigerant is actually what cools the evaporator as it's evaporating from the coils. It's absorbing the heat and sending it back to the condenser as a high pressure vapor to get turned back into a liquid again. It's a cycle. And understanding that cycle can help you diagnose a problem better
Hi Sue, nice explanation. Lately, when i'm at idle (with "max AC" button also on), I noticed My Fiesta's AC compressor almost always engaged & never cycles OFF. the AC also feels cold (just like before when it was always cycling ON and OFF periodically). I live in Indonesia , hot country. Everything looks nice and clean. So What do u think causing it ? Thanks
Thank you that’s was really useful information. Any tips on if it it gets cooler but not really cool? Like the temperature is definitely cooler than the outside air but it’s just mild at best? Thanks for all you do.
+Dao Yang We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
My condenser fins are all bent and clogged. My compressor clutch cycles when idling but runs when on the freeway with cold air. Should I change the condenser and the compressor or just the condenser? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
This was good you gave me alot to think about, my ac hasn’t been working for months now and the ac fan does not come on at all should i change it? The fan i mean?
So 1a auto maestro mecanic thanks for have a lot of patience for your view and please keep teaching us be safe and blessed and i love to hear you and watch your videos
box connector, or is it sold separately, I have 09 chevrolet malibu ltz 3.6, I believe I spliced my fuse box wires wrong, now I may need new harness to fix it, it cranks but runs very rough
I got a 1997 Honda CRV just topped off Freon system runs great for a little bit then pressure blows off through pop-off valve what problem could that be or what could I look for any help would be greatly appreciate it
Hey so I used the can thing and it gave me heat last summer. Didn't drive the car for a couple months by that time it was spring and I didn't need heat but the air didn't blow cool at all. So should my next steps be removing the freon or spraying the condensor?
Moister is caused when the hot liquid hit the expansion valve or orifice tube causing the hot liquid to be compressed to a cold gas just like an air compressor anything that’s compressed will cause some moisture the accumulator or receiver dryer collet the moisture cause the compressor pump can’t pump liquid it’ll destroy it. The evaporator in the dash also will condensate from being cold and it’ll drip water out the bottom of the car.
My AC fails to work when the outside temperature is over 90 degrees or hotter. It will blow hot air. But when the temperature drops down to 80 some degree, it will start to blow cold air again. What is the problem, please?

Actually learned a lot!! I thought understanding AC would be difficult but pretty understandable

Get the air vacuumed out or need more ac recharge.
damn, that's helpful. You are right the workshop always blame it on the compressor
Thank you im mechanical engineering from iraq
Thanks for the lesson
Already HVAC certified, just like watching your videos lol
Thanks for the video, great informations on the diagnosis and prognosis
Brilliance and thanks for getting right to it!
I'm in Birmingham Alabama
Well done. Thank you!
thank you for sharing your knowledge. very helpful information!!
Does the car have to be cool before putting it in or can it be hot? (As in driving around for a while vs leaving it to cool for a few hours
Right on time 😂
Nice vid but still having prob. With short cycling.,,not over or under charged or dirty coils evap and condenser
Thank you!
Love these tutorials when will you guys do a fuel filter change on 2015 chevy vans..
Bringing my truck in next week for this lol
I appreciate this video!
My condenser fins are all bent and clogged. My compressor clutch cycles when idling but runs when on the freeway with cold air. Should I change the condenser and the compressor or just the condenser? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
great tutorial 1a !
This was good you gave me alot to think about, my ac hasn’t been working for months now and the ac fan does not come on at all should i change it? The fan i mean?
my AC stopped blowing cold air during summer, was told, not enough power going to the condenser,it's still not fixed.
Very informative! Thank you 🙏🏾
"EVAPORATE" the system..... 🙄🤔
Do you think after I clean the condenser my AC will start blowing cold
So on your guys top 5 problem videos are they the most common problems with that car or is it top 5 worst problems 🤔
Really detailed. Love it
So 1a auto maestro mecanic thanks for have a lot of patience for your view and please keep teaching us be safe and blessed and i love to hear you and watch your videos
Sue, again it's all about the front. Upper and lower, it's always where you start first.
Great video.
Great job

Thanks 👍
Great job 👏🏽
Can you please do a video on a AC refrigerant hose on a 2012 Volkswagen golf step by step, can't seem to find any videos on it
thank you good job
Great video, thanks.
I got a 1997 Honda CRV just topped off Freon system runs great for a little bit then pressure blows off through pop-off valve what problem could that be or what could I look for any help would be greatly appreciate it

What to do if in front AC blows cool but to the back/rear seats it blows flaming hot air?
In a closed and pressurized system, how does moisture get in to it where it will overwhelm the dryer?
Moister is caused when the hot liquid hit the expansion valve or orifice tube causing the hot liquid to be compressed to a cold gas just like an air compressor anything that’s compressed will cause some moisture the accumulator or receiver dryer collet the moisture cause the compressor pump can’t pump liquid it’ll destroy it. Well made
Thank you for all the great videos you put out we always give you a thumbs up😀👍👍✌
It's wise to replace these parts the Technician recommended.
OMG, you were wrong, some large dual climate vehicles have an expansion valve and an orifice tube as well as 2 evaporators and 2 heater cores.
It's 'evacuate' not evaporate.
Very informative... 👍👍
this is a educational channel

What if it the ac just stopped working out of no where and it hasn’t been blowing cold for months?
What does it mean when my cars low pressure is really high?
Awesome
