Ma se il cantante è dell'età adatta e la canzone sembra adatta al pubblico internazionale allora gli propongono l'ESC, a maggior ragione se ha anche vinto.

In the italian language “veleno” means both “poison” and “venom”. he's probably referring to something that is toxic, their relationship and maybe their querrels.
Yep, punctual explanation: The distinction in english exists because if something is venomous it means that if it BITES you you die (like, snakes) and poisonous means you EAT it and you die (mushrooms) .

First impression that I had about this song was kinda a love story between two men. Yeah, a gay love story, with probably every problems they would encounter here in Italy or even outside in this world. There's still a lot of contrast and hate towards LGBT people.
I found it good, it's a good song after all. Probably it won't win the Eurovision, but still a good song. It gives a good feeling and a good message. That's the most important thing a song must do.

Also, for the "spit poison", English is not my first language obviously since I'm Italian but I think (correct me if I'm wrong) in english there's a difference between poison and venom? In Italian it's the same word though, so the correct translation should be "spit venom" , like when you are super angry.

Both this and Brividi were excellent songs and it's a shame that only 1 could win. "Ovunque Sarai" is about the loss of a loved one and the emotion in the song comes across super strongly.
