David Pearson drove penny loafers won 3 champions without even running full season. I bet Senna would love tossing a 3,400 Lb American stock car from the 60'0 around Riverside
Clearly you can see how he does traction control by himself with his right foot. No one ever in this life will get a mile close to his talent. Senna Forever!
Only Ayrton Senna can get a car to its limits on a circuit with his sunglasses on, white socks and leather shoes and no helmet or racing gloves. A true legendary master
2:33 Thats cool stuff, a powerslide from the apex to the exit with no opposite lock. Even better, hes not even neutral, hes still steering to the left while being on the throttle the whole time.
I think what we see there is the inside wheel only spinning resulting in RPM increase, then it hooks right at the exit curb and he needs to give it a small correction. Still amazing timing and smoothness.
Heel n toe with loafers and aviators that have since been worn out without a bead of sweat with the heater on blast driving in a fucking sportcoat and no gloves on. Legends never die.
Saudades desse cara encantando a todos do nosso Brasil.
sad to think that these were production cars back in the day but now they are almost impossible to find and will force you to take out a 2nd mortgage to buy. we will never have drivers as skilled as him again because computers do most of the stuff he was doing with his feet.
The attire doesn't make you drive better, if anything it's constricting. All racing suits and shoes are for is safety. A good driver can be sitting in his boxers behind the wheel and still bring a car to its limits.
0:56 I noticed Ayrton went to full throttle while still being mid-corner, when the steering wheel wasn't completely straight. This led to an exaggerated slide. Normally he would employ his famed throttle blipping technique throughout the entire corner, only transitioning to full throttle once the front of the car was finally pointing straight at the exit. He was still testing the grip limits here. On the same corner at 2:31, his throttle blipping technique lasts about two seconds longer compared to 0:56.
A shame he isn't using the whole circut but the East (IIRC), I would have liked to watch it go through the S bends. Great driver, sorely missed by the world.
i agree, senna was the best, but i guess other drivers will be able to push an nsx to the limit with sunglasses on, white socks and leather shoes and no helmet or racing gloves
The only time he actually double clutches is when he tries to hit 5th @1:42 and misses.. In a race that could have probably lost him a couple positions lol. Obviously not totally used to the left-hand tall gearing of the car during the test. The rest of it was just standard heel-and-toe downshifts and fighting the understeer like a madman around the chicanes
the car sounds so happy
Yes. Especially in those high Rev ranges!
No helmet and Penny loafers, amazing..
And sunglasses :)

***** Ayrton Senna Magnific We Brazileiro forever Senna
+pcsecretagent It´s called punta tacco technique
Armando Jr. punta taco. LOL that's in brazilian portuguese. Not in any other language...
R.I.P. Senna, the legend. Compared to his F1 videos, this NSX looks like a bus. This is probably as easy as driving to the grocery store for him.
How accurate is that BOSS jacket? A true legend!
👏
Only Ayrton Senna can get a car to its limits on a circuit with his sunglasses on, white socks and leather shoes and no helmet or racing gloves. A true legendary master
Yes the best driver

That is Senna's finess.
Forever the BEST.
Why would he go to neutral if he’s on throttle...
@@evanburt2766 he meant neutral in steering angle, not the gears

Finally, the full video.
To those questioning the footwear, don't knock it til you tried it. Loafers make great driving shoes, comfortable and gives good feel of the pedals.
I don't agree. Loafers are slippery and narrow to driving for me. But yes, it gives good feel of the pedals
Loafers are good for drive, not so good for race.
Controle de tração manual
Beautifully said.

Watching Senna balance the car in the corners with the Throttle is awesome!
senna was more than the driver....simply amazing...feast for the eyes definitely

Impeccable footwork,we are still thinking of you Ayrton Senna, bless you always.
3:18 They should increase light render distance.
Ciao Ayrton, per sempre il n° 1!
Today's cars are gay cars.
Yes, he did

A big thank you for this piece of car history.
Senna like a boss!!!!
E pilotando do "lado errado" ainda..... putz!
Imagine being a car driven by the legend himself
Masrer class!!!
Manual traction control.
Sem capacete, com mocassim. Mito kkkkk
che pilota resterai sempre il n°1
Probably some of the best footage about anything in existence

the gold old days.
Poesia... 'magic' numero 1
Fantástico !!! Senna 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🏆
Tbh this was probably pretty “meh” fo Senna. How can anything compare to driving an MP4-5 at the time?
With the gear's stick on his left...
No problem for him, he was left handed.
insane skils, feathering the accelerator changing down wearing del boys lounge shoes :)
He was wearing loafers for god sakes lol Legendary
que genio!!

He makes the nsx look like it has boat suspension
New found respect for Honda, given that Ayrton Senna was their golden boy!
Senna is the best ever, hands down, but when it comes to footwork, Tsuchiya is untouchable.

@thenicedudejay don't think so. Senna spent a lot of time tuning the suspension and chassis of the NSX.
i wish i would be in the back seat... or the front i dont mind..

What kind of loafs is senna rocking in this video?
Who else but the late, great Ayrton Senna.....a master at work
Stunning
It looks so easy the way He did
Pumping the trottle to get controlled over and understeer. Great
I wonder if people who dislike videos work for youtube....
1:41 he missed a gear 😅
Consider most of his racing career was across cars with the shift lever on the right.

miss shifting in 1:43
The NSX was not fully ready yet ,

Double-clutch heel-toe downshifts are something you don't see everyday. That's the mark of someone who has spent a LOT of time in manual-box racecars.
Does someone wanna clue me in as to what he's doing at 1:40?
He missed the gear shift.

human traction control..

according to road & track, these are the loafers he used:
