This song and this particular performance have been played many times this year. This has been a real year of deconstruction and refocusing for me. I hope when I come back to this song in the future I'm in a better place, hope everyone listening to it now gets better too.
I just came back after 5 years of opiate addiction. I am clean for the first time in 5 years and I can actually enjoy listening to this music again. I didn't listen to any of my favorite music during that time. It used to make me so sad, reminded me of all the good times that were in the past. Now it gives me hope for the future. I never would have thought I'd be clean right now, but I feel amazing. God bless everyone and don't stop dreaming.
One of the best songs ever. I had the privilege to see them performing it live in Barcelona at the Primavera Sound festival. Dave Berman is Bob Dylan to me.
@@Gaucci78 god damn this is the longest gap between replies i've ever seen. are you some kind of omniscient eldritch being? anyway still rockin with this amazing song 14 years later 🤘
So true. All my favorite singers couldn't sing. I have too much respect for David as a thinker/poet/person to discount him based of any perceived flaws in a live performance-- for me this has been one of those videos I always find myself coming back to
Lo únic dolent que hi ha és sa gravació del directe, vaja mescla es van marcar els tècnics. Lo altre és fotudament amazing. Gran cançó i gran lletra. PD: JOlines, el retardando del final és genial, llàstima que sa bateria soni molt fluixa.
A master. The world didn’t deserve his brilliance, but also he deserved to be happy. RIP David and thank you for making our lives better.
This is the greatest song ever written, no hyperbole.
It's an extremely beautiful song, in a very low key, alterna-Johny Cash kindof way.

'deconstruction and refocusing' you sound like a pussy. Get on with it.
Berman forever! His music will always be worth half hours on earth
love Dave Berman, can listen to this over and over

@@chend2713 yeah, weird but google is still notifying me of replies under my comment. And Dave Berman is still Bob Dylan to me.
Absolutely one of the best songs ever. Always makes me happy. As soon as he sings “Troubles, no troubles,” my whole brain chemistry changes.
One of the greatest songs ever written.
"How can something so old be so wrong."
Man, so much in that line.
Favorite line ever
Deserves half-hours of thinking...
@@gillescoin2374So you're already done.

She is truly captivated by her husband. I love it.
He was a very captivating human. Wish he hadn't left us too early :(
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
God I still cannot believe he's gone...
I love this group so much. Berman's voice is unique and I dig it.
To each their own. Live and let live.
I miss you David.
So good, he gave us all a gift 🤘❤️
I lived in Bloomington at this time. I'll always be upset that I missed this show.
listen to this every day
You must be really torn up about the loss. 😢😢😢😢😢
He reminds me of Leonard Cohen and yes that would be a compliment.
It was the vocals that first attracted me to Silver Jews. Some very Lou Reed tones in there which I like.
Me, too.
be sooooo wrong
take a walk on the wild side

You would have to average 5 beers a day for 27 years to get to 50,000
Some days I drink more than five beers...
And?
Way ahead of ya
Doable
So you're saying there's a chance
Thank you so much for sharing this ♥
"it's been evening all day long"
this song basically broguth me out of depression
Corey Cole ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love how he sounds a bit Lou Reed. Picture Lou Reed doing folk/Americana/country. Surreal.
Far from the best live performer out there. But that might have made his moments all the more impactful. What a man. RIP DCB and Happy Birthday.
"Sin & gravity, drag me down to sleep to dream of trains across the sea.."
Please create more music for all of us drunken night owls to soak up...
@M.D. B. Yeah dude..

Rest Easy, David

WHO calls this music?
Me
David Evans me & transcendent at that 🙌🏻❤️❤️
What are half hours on Earth worth?
ME
they're really bad live...
Comments are either against the vocals or in defense of the vocals as "unique." Conclusion: The band needs better vocals :)
