Justen was an outstanding representative for all of us who've never played Monster Hunter before

Yeah, couldn't resist the Unicorn Tears and Mutagen: Radioactive- and they included something called "Memorial Day Free Dice Set $30 Acrylic"- so that will be a surprise.
I won't have enough dice until I can fill a beanbag chair filled with them, so I can sleep atop them like some kind of dice dragon.

They should come with warning labels. Table Top General's Warning: Gaming dice are additive, know to cause dice envy, depletion of fun funds, and in some case painful injury to feet. Quitting gaming now will not greatly reduce your addition.

Kepler provides protection against fear and anxiety effects; plus "deep sleep" which increases hp and spell recovery when resting.
also resistance to cold based effects.

How I felt at HR1
At least the GM wasn't disappointed by how easy it was. A 7 hour combat encounter? That's one tough cookie despite their preparations and OP builds.
We all know that is only because Sarah wasn't there to murder it.

I always wondered if Monster Hunter had an actual story or if it was just kill everything you see and make food and stuff out of them. Thank you so much for clearing that up.
It does, just not one that makes a lot of sense to most people or is very satisfying to everyone.
Kepler dose not need a speed boost. Kepler has mastered the ability of standing so incredibly still that he’s become invisible to the eye. Watch.

I have a friend who's along time Monster Hunter player and this is basically what happens in every game- kill monsters to make better weapons from them to kill bigger and badder monsters that make bigger and badder weapons. It's almost like a Mobius Loop...
And as a hunter myself, we wouldnt have it any other way

Have you player Rise yet? One of the switch moves makes it so you don't have to prep your songs, they just play anytime you play a note twice in a row. HH is NASTY in Rise.

"does this game have a story?" That pretty much sums up my impression when I played the game. I had no clue what I was doing and it was fun for a few times but I quickly got tired of it because I didn't know what the hell to do other than go out and get killed a lot.
This one really encapsulated my experience playing Monster Hunter World.
I downloaded the game, spent too long making cosmetic character choices that don't really matter, got lost and confused in the tutorial, and died five times in my first monster hunt.
The "lore" dump seems accurate based on what I saw.

porb not dnd is easy once you learn the ,echanics .usually 1 or 2 seesions beforemost people get the basics down and most dms don outright kill new players . and most player will help noobies.you should find a group on roll20 and pick up a players hand book

My ex kept insisting they would show me how to play. And the one time our group got together ppl apparently didn’t care that I was new and didn’t have a clue what to do and got made at me for not knowing what I was doing.... so I’ve never really felt the need to try that again. So I just watch stuff, those peeps actually where the ones who showed me this channel! Haha

@@kunoichigaming i mean shit groups exist. also groups that you just wont fit with, search for one that seems to focus on what you want out of your sessions. do you like a really technical game? very RP driven? etc, for me i like groups that are more worried about being in character and doing whatever...then "beating" the game. and im competitive as hell...but D&D is different its not really a competition, just an experience you have with friends.

I think I’d be more RP focused. Considering I made up a backstory for my character and my ex said
“You’re doing too much the character doesn’t need any backstory.” (They where more of a beat the game type apparently)

So, after falling behind on your vids for a fair while I binged my way up to this point. Gotta say, the hour spent on set crafting (And the mentioned week crafting another) was actually all kinds of accurate and got a chuckle out of me.
That said, there is actually a surprising amount of lore behind the why monsters get hunted, etc.
I love how accurate this scenario was, with actual gameplay . 7 hours hour is pretty accurate. But yes, Justin's weapon is pretty difficult to use unless you know how to use it ahead of time. I just love playing a bow user. Unlimited ammunition, and you have the dragons drill shot, which does multiple hit damage and can break off body parts. On top of that, I can stay at a distance and hit them without being indirect Striking Distance of them. Palico are just cute, especially as a little Grim Reaper, with either the Death Shroud or gothic funeral dress.
Justen's bewilderment resonates with how I operate in _Deep Rock Galactic._ Confused, terrified, and basically there to fall into the hole everyone else noticed or be mauled by the large monster that inexplicably homes in on me through the wall.

I love how when they start, the beast is right outside the gates, and when they (finally!) leave the beast is some distance away on the other side of the hill. Poor thing, probably was heading home for rest and relaxation. The glasses wearing bear on Waylon's tee-shirt, could it perhaps be a (Girl Genius) Swartzwalder?
The only thing I solidly understood in all of that was the Wampa that looked like Barry the Chopper.

Rise is a surprisingly great Monster Hunter for being on the Switch. Not sure why I expected less but I'm very happy with the game.

I was hoping for a charge blade user to spend 5 rounds charging phials, storing phials, charging shield, charging phials, loading phials, then on the 6th turn either the monster was dead, or he rolls a 1 on the UED, turning it 90° in the wrong direction.
Thus was the most meta edition yet, God I loved this! Uts funny because as me and my buddies are replaying iceborn getting ready for rise, we were just talking about how to incorporate monster hunter into a dnd edition 🤣

5:29 They wouldn't be palicoes because palico is a specific job title for a felyne or melynx that works for or with a hunter to take on monsters with tools and weapons they would be felynes which is their species

I beat the majority of the game with my SnS. That Ninja one that came with the update is insane with 100% affinity. I use my HH when I play online with randoms and try to be a healer, so I wrote the sketch like that.

@@williamvalorious4403 I know but Im one of the old schoolers who never made the "switch" to palico. In older games the personal ally was also called "felyne" forgot when the term Palico was first coined.
So, I was waiting for this comment. I wrote out about 8 lines worth of dialogue to explain that the creatures are called felynes and that the "domesticated" or partner felynes are called palicos and too much of this script is already in Latin for people who don't play Monster Hunter so I just deleted it and went for the annoyed nerds joke.
