  • Mt Fitz Roy in El Chalten is an incredible sight, and a trek that can be done in a day. This video shows you our experience of an 8 hour trek without 'professional' equipment, and what El Chalten is like as you will be very likely staying here if you visit.
Take on free hiking in the Los Glaciers National Park, come prepared and don't forget to check the weather. This is the 8 hour round trip hiking trail from El Chalten.
We are so new to vlog travel, having just provided highlights set to music before (see the SE Asia series). SO this adventure is filmed and edited on the road, in hostels, on the ground with THE most slow WIFI. Having to travel and edit is going to be challenging. We would love for you to follow us in the journey and hope the videos provide good information if you are planning to travel to the area or just interested. If it helps just one of you, then thats amazing!
We are set to head to RIO for carnival and who knows! SO make sure to subscribe to see where we end up.
Join as we learn how to navigate this continent and this world, with a backpack on and camera set to record. Our day to day experiences, the highs and the low. REAL backpacking, hostels, transport.

Just a quick question. How comfortable did you feel travelling with just English? Not just here but in South America in general? One of my biggest fears of travelling in South and Central America is the language issue, as English is not widely spoken unlike say SE Asia or India. Which areas/countries of South and Central America were the most difficult with just English? Anyway, awesome video! Fitz Roy looks magical.

Adam has basic Spanish skills so I was very lucky to be traveling with him as I find it pretty hard to learn languages. The longer your in a country the more you do pick up the language and it becomes easier to communicate. I'd say learning basics such as how to check into a hostel, how to buy a bus ticket and ask for directions are pretty essential in both South and Central America, as well as your please and thankyous and quantitys, so you can buy food in a market. In all countries we found people who spoke English, but the further off the typical travel route you went, say in patagonia, the less English there was. It really wasn't a big problem though, as body language and hand signals do go a long way and Adam actually learnt Spanish on previous trip to South America, so you really do pick it up along the way. Also, downloading Google translate offline is a top tip! Hope that answer helped, happy trip planning 🙂 gem
