- WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN" EVEN MEAN?! Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this TH-cam name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛 Sooo I am currently and actively keeping a weather eye on the KPOP horizon!

Seventeen is literally one of the most speacial groups. Not only they produce their own song's but choreograph's too. They are really funny tooo. Cause they have so much chemistry with each other. It's just a one big family, it literally makes me sob. So can you please react to their funny moments please?
You bringing up sign language YES!!! The chorus part where they’re in their SVT logo formation with the different levels that IS sign language!! The “home home home” part is korean sign language for home ! And they incorporate sign language in other songs too for example, “pretty u”, “thanks”, and “clap” !!! I genuinely love how SVT puts so much thought into their choreographies.

Home is their most awarded song for music shows with 10 wins. It really is a queen. I get emotional everytime I listen to this song. And yes it’s opening a door and then stepping in

An interesting thing about this song is the fanchant - it fills the empty space when they don't sing. The song sounds pretty different in live performances because of it, but it's still gorgeous.
This is my favorite svt song, I'm not even a carat but this song has a special place in my heart.

seventeen was the first bg i ever got into. they stole my heart so fast, i fell in love QUICK !!! their music always touched my heart and made me feel emotional 😭 i hate feeling feelings, i dont like feeling vulnerable & that’s how they made me feel. i always loved hype, loud, noisy music because it made me feel happy, which is one of the many reasons why skz is now my all time favorite group. but seventeen … god … they are so perfect in every aspect.
Fun fact: Hoshi taught carats how to do they fanchant for the similar lines of Woozi and Wonwoo... They chant with a high tone during Woozi's part, and chant with a low tone for Wonwoo's part. The vid of Hoshi teaching CARATs this during a pre-recording of a stage is so funny!
It took me forever to realize that in the chorus they are literally turning a doorknob and opening a door. The details!!!
I don't know if I'm right, but as a Carat, the basketball set reminds me of Mansae, then the lamp posts set reminds me of their Don't Wanna Cry choreo where they had a formation of lamp posts. So it may be weird for others, but for me it's definitely home. 😊

As you know, SVT writes their own songs and participate in conceptualizing and creating the choreography. ❤️ They've stated time and again that Woozi and Hoshi collabs in how the entire performance would look and Woozi adjusts the music to fit the performance they have in mind.
This song was made with fans in mind. They've mentioned even in their latest written Weverse interview that all their songs are written for CARATs... ❤️ And the fanchant to this goes "SVT is CARATS home."

Yes we got Seventeen back! If you watch the live home performance, they were really singing live so stably while doing that multiple spins in circles.
I just got to see them in concert here in Washington DC over the weekend... June and Hoshie were out sick and they were still amazing. I hope the guys recover quickly.

Wow! You are so smart in analyzing choreos. You can actually visualize movement representations with knowing only the title of the song. Not even every lyric. That's so cool.
on 10:30 before the levels part, the steps they are doing is opening a door and stepping forward like they're entering inside their home. then after that, at 10:36 the line "cause i'm your home, home, home, home," its a sign language of home 💛
Fun fact: SVT uploads the behind the scenes of their songs and year-end stages on their channel, Inside SVT or Going SEVETEEN (2017-2019, before it became a full-time variety show).
And what I love about our boys is how chaotic they are, but at the same time, how committed to their craft and team they are. They legit have input in everything they do since day 1.
There was a post by their former manager from predebut days where he shared that he called the members (months before their debut) to have a meeting about their debut, the concepts and performances. 2 hours later, the members came out, and he thought they were going back to the dorms. Turns out, they were just hungry and asked for food. Then proceeded to have 5 more hours of meeting, way into the night, with the manager begging them to go home so he can to. TT TT ... The manager commented on their passion for the stage.
And 6 years later they still have the same passion...
if you talk about sign language, they have plenty of it in "thanks" choreo (i dont rlly know the other songs). during the chorus they keep making a sign of roof while singing "home, home, home, home" and to me, it's pretty cool. that simple movement incorporate with what you're saying about the mv when they keep everything simple, leave the extras and that's what you call a home. comfy and just right. also yes, the other movement during the chorus it's like they opening a door and that's hella cool. im always overflowed with indescribable amount of comfort and nostalgic feelings when listen to home. seventeen may go hardcore but this kind of song just hit your core lol. in terms of dancing, ive got nothing to say. they always exceed my expectation and blow my mind with their synchronization holy- the whole world might as well bow down to kingss. anyways, thanks for reacting to this thina
