  • Do you have some leftover half square triangle units? I seem to have lots! Here is a suggestion of how you could use some of them for a scrappy style quilt. Shown here using 1 1/2" half square units and 3 1/2" half square units plus a background fabric, but any size can be used. There are so many ways that this could look great - wall hangings, placemats, table runners, bags, quilt blocks...... Have fun!

wowsers~those really twirl. I not only have 1.5" and 3.5" but I also have 2.5" half square triangles. SO, I can really graduate the sizes from smallest to largest. This is an exciting idea. Thanks.

This os a great idea. So pretty. I find myself not able to throw away the "scraps" also. Sometimes I put the HST's together with other small scraps ro make a crimb block. Turned out really pretty. Tha ks for sharing. You are am amazing sewist!

That is so cute, I think I may just do something like that with all those little hst units that I save. Might be nice to have blocks the size of the one you showed at the end and have several of them in order to make a lap quilt maybe using about 6 of that size? Thank you again for your ideas.

Such a creative way to use up those bits. I often make "extra" HST when doing a quilt so I have choices in the layout. They usually end up in my scrap box. Thank you.
