"What an incredible Cinderella story! This unknown, comes out of nowhere, to clear a lake side lot. He's got about 75 footer, oak, cars to the right, house to the left, he's gonna use the Volvo, I think. [digs, swings, pushes] Oh, he got all of that! The crowd is standing on its feet here at youtube. The normally reserved crowd, going wild... [pauses] for this young Cinderella who's come out of nowhere. He's got another, about 80 footer, looks like the volvo again, it looks like, don't you think? He's got a beautiful back-swing... [digs, swings, drops another tree] that's- oh, he got all of that one! He's gotta be pleased with that! The crowd is just on its feet here. He's a Cinderella boy. Tears in his eyes, I guess, as he lines up this last fell. He's got about 70 footer, and he's got a, looks like he's got to land it right between some save trees. This crowd has gone deadly silent... Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greens-keeper, now about to become the Masters lot clearer. [digs, swings, drops it right in the clearing] It looks like a mirac...it's in the hole! It's in the hole!"

Your vids are the best, especially the tree clearing. Like therapy for me, especially when they put up a fight, and finally fall. Then you grab the top and fold it back, and the sound is so perfect. The only question I have is why would anyone take the time to come here, watch the vid, then thumb down? I mean how could you do this any better? Some people... Thanks again for posting.

Wouldn't want to be those people in the neighboring houses. I mean, they had the privacy of the wood lot between them, then it's gone, being crowded by another house eventually. I'm not built to live in a place where the houses are so close together.

Good work... Yet I wish building on any shoreline was not allowed unless it's a small acreage man made 'beauty pond'. Lakes & beaches such as Okeechobee, Gulf , Atlantic or Pacific should always be public access.

PERFECT! I knew you could do it. You should be ashamed of yourself scaring that little old lady like that.......... By the way that clicking grinding sound you hear is your swing motor gear missing a few teeth. That has GOT to be rough on the gears. Guess you know what you are doing. Why would anyone put rip rap at the waters edge? They will probably be calling you back later to dig it up. Gonna be rough landing a boat there.

Chris, I was wondering how an old D6 or D7 ripper shank would go seeing you do a fair amount of clearing. I'm not trying to be smart or tell you how to do your job but we use to use them put on a quick-release hitch on the excavator, I found that it didn't leave such big holes that would be a pain in the butt after it rained if not compacted properly, but most of all it was a lot quicker on smaller trees.

65' width is tight quarters but you handled it quite well ....a sign of a knowledgeable and skillful operator! You don't need to test your liability insurance policy....lol.

I know exactly nothing about dirt work and heavy equipment... that being said, with as much clearing as you guys do would a forestry attachment for the 220 be worthwhile? I have seen a claw with a chainsaw blade on it so you can drop the tree with the machine, then you just have to rip the stump out. Might even be able to cut the trunk up high, then lower to save a log here and there.

It's not their fault for wanting the rock down there. It's the companies fault for not using the mini to place all the rock. The right tool for the job would have made a narrower access point and less shoreline damage.

Clearing up all the way to the waterline isn't allowed anymore where I live. In fact, the law now obligates land owners to put back some natural vegetation near the water. For that matter, putting rock like that to reduce erosion is actually counterproductive. It increases erosion wherever there is no protection and ultimately, the erosion gets around the wall and does it's work. The better alternative is to simply let nature do what it's always done, keeping the banks stable with roots.
