I've watched a lot of Love Connection on TH-cam and this is one of the best, thanks for sharing. What sets this episode apart are 1) like Chuck mentioned, all 3 of your choices were cute and seemed like winners! and 2) Chuck checking out the girls butt as she walks by! Classic!!

It's worse then that - I never received the gifts they say contestants get. I didn't tell her because I was willing to pay for it. At the I had just sold a business and had plenty of money so it was OK. Plus, I wanted to be on the show so it was fine with me. I just did not expect her to do all of that. By the way, I was asked to be on the show by two women who work for it, I met them at the Hark Rock Cafe in Hollywood where I lived at the time. Thanks, Barry

Girls who look like that never have trouble with guys wanting to date them, get to know them, turn their head's to look and stare at them. For us average girl's at best - life is very different. Many guys don't even want to get to know us if we don't meet their standards of beauty or look like any of the three female contestants on this show. I think California is particularly this way, because a lot other states don't seem to put so much emphasis on beauty.
I agree. I wanted to ask the soft spoken girl out, but they pressed me hard to go out with Taren. She was a trip and I was just there to have fun, so why not?

From the date till the filming was about 4 months and we were not allowed to talk during that time. I was dating a girl by the time we did the show (I did the show at my girlfriends urging) so we never went out. Plus, I couldn’t afford Teran - that date cost me $600 (the show only paid $65). Teran was a rich kid and had very expensive tastes.
You seemed to have a connection But four months is too long to wait! I mean that’s outrageous. So they gave you $65 and then I think they might have raised it to do it to $100, but You chose oh copter ride and the boat and $65 is not well nowadays wouldn’t cover gas but I guess it’s to get on television but you chose to spend that much money on the date waiting for months what is the mistake and you We’re very handsome and she was funny I hope both your lives turned out well and I do think it’s nice that you filled us in however at the same time why would you say that you wanted to see her again when you were already with someone else I guess you couldn’t be honest on television and say hey we had a great day I would’ve liked to of seen her again but I couldn’t talk to her for four months so I’m already in a relationship with someone else why didn’t you just say the truth? Plus, they gave us a big list of places we couldn't go and that was 95% of LA. So you had to push the envelope to have a fun date. Sure I didn't want to spent that much, but I could afford it and I had a blast. $650 for a once in a lifetime opportunity to go on a national TV show with a hot chick and be called a horn dog - priceless. haha 🤣
Binge watching Love Connection, a show that I enjoyed watching back when it was on TV. I always hoped that when a date was a good one like yours seems to be, that it would lead to a long romance. But I doubt if many did. Reading the comments below it would seem that neither of you pursued the relationship. It's also interesting to read what goes on behind the scenes on those old "reality shows".

Rod had no choice other than to leave, after the second season, because he learned his mentor/hero (Johnny Olson) had passed away --- from "The Price is Right," and nobody had found the announcer, so, one of the CBS staffers had found Rod, asked him to audition, and later got the job, which he stayed 'til his death in 2003.

At least. Back then there were dance clubs all over the place people went out a lot. Granted, I went out a little more than other people did, but I loved to dance and had more energy than I knew what to do with. I lived life to the fullest.
THey might not have wanted people to spend too much on first dates. Of course, the staff knows good dates(and bad dates) can make good television. The closest thing to this show nowadays is Baggage on GSN and Excused in syndication, and I hear both of those shows are about to be cancelled.
Sorry for the late response, I never saw this email. Anyway, no, they won't let you see each other person until they film the show and that was months later. She wanted to forget the show and date, but I wanted to do the show and held off. I met someone else and so the show was uncomfortable for me to tell the truth, but my new girl friend wanted me to go on the show - go figure - so I did. Sure was awkward but fun.
You are correct sir. They told me that they did that with the better dates and called it a "cliffhanger episode" to keep people coming back. We had to bring two sets of clothes because they filmed them back to back. We went and changed clothes and acted like we had been brought back the next day. Oh, and you know the list of items they say they give to each person at the end of the show, it's smoke and mirrors. I didn't get any of it! haha Thanks for the comment.
