    I had a carbon fiber Zpacks tent pole break during a severe storm. I took the broken section out and it makes a perfect bike stand. I place it between the seat rails on the bottom of the saddle and it breaks down to 4 pieces. 56 grams. ✌

      @@DanieleCarletti it has a plastic plug on both ends of the pole. It's long enough I just place it between the saddle rails underneath the saddle and the end rests underneath the saddle body.

    Very useful video! I went through this exact set of decisions for my tourer too - didn’t want the weight of a 2 leg, or the frame stresses from a single leg stand. Came across Click Stand and love the strength, convenience and low weight. So useful when loading your bike after a night camping, and the ability to vary which side the bike leans, and at what angle is great. Safe travels!

    I made a click stand out of old aluminum tent poles I had at home. they three poles are held together with a bungie cord running the length and has a Y shaped yoke You can attach the folded stand somewhere on your bike using two snap clips that are designed to hold a broom in the closet. Since I last posted I have made a telescoping bike stand made out of one leg of a photo tripod. The telescoping leg is adjustable from 21 inches (53.34) extends to 5 feet 152 C) Weight 11oz (317g). The pole can used as a bike stand, walking stick, cane, or tent pole. Many tent poles are 21 inches when folded. A basket can be attached to the bottom for sandy soil. Available at REI. I placed rubber chair feet on each end.

    • @NomadsTrails
      @NomadsTrails  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good tips thanks! If the tent pole is strong enought then it will work. But now days with this super light weight trend going on, it is hard to find durable tent poles 😅

    • @tomsitzman3952
      @tomsitzman3952 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new tent pols are a piece of junk. I would rather have a sturdy tent Pole that will get me through than to save a few grams on the trail or road. Happy trails to you.

    Got my first click stand "way back in the day" when the company first started. Just bought the heavier model.
    Could I make one from tent poles or a stick? Sure. But I don't mind supporting a small business that makes a good product.

    In North America and Australia kick stands are looked down upon by the cycling community since cycling is just a sport for middle age men in lycra. In Japan and Europe all the bikes have a kick stand as it makes sense.

    I absolutely LOVE the concept but its so vulnerable to theft by lowlife thieves 🤨. I think this would be great if it was mounted on the top tube, on a track screwed into the top tube for adjustability. Patent pending 😉😊
    Maybe even a center, double kickstand, when in town where the thieves are, or when space is at a premium. I like the center, double kickstand that folds up both legs to the left side of the bike too. Both options?

    I just found your channel. I hope you're doing okay on your own without Matilda. Maybe you could find a friend to join you. Everyone needs a friend. Also maybe you could make a quick video on how you clean your chain. People recommend those $30 plastic cleaning machines which use lots of solvent but that seems like a waste of money and bad for the environment.

    What I don`t understand. Why do you switch bikes so often? I am riding my bike yearly 15.000km and don`t have to. Don`t you service them right? Or just curious about new stuff?

    • @NomadsTrails
      @NomadsTrails  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One bike indeed can ride for many for many hundred thousands of kilometers. The reason i switch bikes is a part of my content I creat us about bike tech. So I order to have good understanding about bikes and different components I test those on my rides. This a reason I switch bikes and setups 😊
